47 year old Black Man here and this has happened to me on more than a couple of occasions as a teen. Big difference in the 90s police seemed to have a little more restraint and I’m alive today because of it. I’m afraid for my sons and other sons and daughters.
Proof?
I’m so sorry you went through that, and also that the ignorant trash in the comment above me is asking for proof. Don’t worry, most of these morons will die off in the coming generation. So many times I have said as long as I don’t have to have a talk with my teenage sons about not looking at a police officer wrong, but the mom up the street, whose sons have more melanin than my boys, has to remind them each time they leave the house, there will never be true justice. they are trained for this... and get an upgrade

He pulled his gun out because there was a chance that the kid was a robber and had a weapon too. He didn't point the gun at him though, it's just safety.

Why couldn’t the cops ask the grandma if everything was ok before bringing out the guns.
Sad thing but we already know.
@nadia Salem same here
Dutspice if he was robbing her she’d have to press charges make perfect sense to check if she’s actually being robbed first
Dutspice I don’t think it takes longer to ask her if she’s being robbed than pulling out guns the cops have no logic
Dutspice did you ever hear of shot first ask questions later that’s what is happening here
*"Thats your grandson!!! Waaaaoooow!!!"*
Damn i lost faith in humans at that point.
I think the witness' reaction is because the police took her grandson and handcuffed him, not because her grandson is black.
It's unusual to see a white grandma with a black grandson. It happens, but definitely an overaction from the cops part
@Morrigan Black huh that's interesting
I've never seen it before myself but after that video I realize that something that could happen
Although I do know people who are part white part black too,so that's probably the case here
A common example: Barack Obama's mom was white and Obama's kids were black.
My sister has a white grand daughter and every where they go people ask her are you ok, so white is not supposed to have black family

"What she could've done to protect her grandson"
See that's just it. Why does she need to protect her grandson from COPS. The boys in blue who are SUPPOSED to be protecting the people. The woman did a great job staying calm and explaining that he was her grandson. Because honestly, that's all you can do when faced with a trigger happy officer.
It's crazy how the police, who are supposed to be symbols of safety, are now feared more than respected. There's always a looming dread whenever an officer is near the vicinity.
@@orangeman3220 innocent people fear the cops more than feeling safe when they are around
Did you watch the video? There was a report saying that an old woman was getting robbed by a black teen… it’s literally their job to investigate. And it’s not like every car on the freeway has an old white lady with a black teen inside it. And they definitely can’t tell just by looking that it’s her grandson. And they have to make sure she wasn’t being “coerced” into saying that. What if someone kidnapped a kid and forced them to say that it was theirs to a cop and the cop just let it slide?
