Boy , does this bring back memories . Myrtle Beach in the mid 60’s . Work during the day and then dance all night . And so many pretty girls ! Never did much more than hug and smooch , but what a blast ! An innocent time that’ll never return . I’m 75 now but still smile when I think of the fun we had .
Pudge and Chip were my favorite couple because Shag was integral to their relationship, and I found their dancing scenes cute and thematically fulfilling.
I had this movie on vhs. And, I must have been in 8th grade when it came out and my mom took me to see this. Always underrated and didn't understand why more people didn't know about it. Phoebe Cates, Bridget Fonda, Annabeth Gish!? This and mystic pizza are my all time fav movies from junior high.
One of the best movies and soundtrack. Vhs soundtrack is the best! And girls is bond and adventures before life changes for them. Love it and own the vhs! 😊

The beach after the prom because it was senior week and grads from all over the state would show up for that week ! It was so much fun, but you can’t do that now.
This is wrong, for the British. The best part of the film is when one of the girls announces that She can't wait to put on Her new shagging shoes tonight!! 'Shag' means something different in Britain and one doesn't necessarily need shoes on to do it.
