Best designed Olympic Games ever. Venue graphics, color palette, and uniforms. A friend of mine was a trumpeter for the medal ceremonies at the swimming venue. He still has it and he cherished it.
Pastels was the color scheme of the 80's and the L.A. Olympics captured it perfectly. After the Olympics ended they started to take down the street decorations and people complained. They wanted them to stay up and so they stayed. It was like getting rid of mementoes of a love affair, people wanted to hold on the great feeling of the Olympics. Eventually they became worn and tattered and taken down. It was a great time to live in L.A.
LA84 has to be my favorite Olympics. I wish I was alive to see it in person that summer. Thankfully, the nearly 5-hour "16 Days of Glory" is immersive enough to cover quite a bit of what that experience must have felt like.
This design language is really lovely! Coming from the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, which had quite a cold and uninviting look to it, these cheerful and sweet colours and design elements are such a delight to see. I think a similar branding would fit for the upcoming LA Olympics as well, as the colours feel like they represent diversity perfectly. Very cute!
I think Los Ángeles 1984 games were much better than Atlanta 1996 in every sense, and besides in that age USA was the greatest power in the world,in Atlanta it was not so much in my opinion!!
Lots of countries including the United States and Canada boycotted the Moscow games due to Cold War tensions it’s just not worth showing that. Although the 1980 games did have a spectacular opening ceremony and a cute mascot in the form of Misha the bear

I think this is the best design concept after 1968's olympic. Colourful, Fun and Happy. Quite entertaining on my point of view
It was a Disney animator who designed Sam The Eagle, the Olympic mascot
This may be my favorite TH-cam channel. Thank you for giving this inside take on the city I live in

One of my favourite looks for the Games of all time. Iconic 1980s and sums up the whole decade. Trailblazing.
LA 84 had the most 80s aesthetics when it happened. Legit wish i went!
That photograph of the 3 cyclists forming the five rings with the wheels of the bikes is one of the best things I've ever seen.
And the LA84 block logo then got rehashed into the customizable LA28 block logo that is the official ident for the 2028 Olympics.
I can't wait for the 2028 Olympics.
Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games!
LA'28
has to surpass the LA'84 gold standard.
And the Olympics are coming back to L.A. in a decade (10 years).
Grindcore Racer 67 I think people know how long a decade is
I figured there was a difference at measuring years between America Europe like at measuring everything, that's why I split the two.
@@lorddrac_dontaskmetodance thankfully there's not

I clearly remember it when he was the colors in the batters the bird is Olympics to its apex
Designers: we want to unite the world
Comunists: I think we won't show up in your games dude.
Everything was very 80s and very American.
Seoul 1988 please 🇰🇷
Bummer that this make a better world concept didn't really catch on though
It's so 80s
Keep it up !
Fue cuando la U.R.S.S. boicoteó esas olimpiadas, otras naciones no participaron, para 2028 Los Ángeles California lo organizara por tercera vez
♥️
Where is Moscow 1980 Design??

Hello I'm a bicycle stunt rider ...i need help
Huh
It's was bad design"my opinion"
yo i'm gonna let you enjoy your 84 olympics but this was some disgusting "art" and made the 68 mexico "art" look like a masterpiece.
Will Lowe To each their own 🤷🏽♂️
Looove the pictograph, not so much the Logos and color tone, looks so tacky and cheap but then again it's the 80's
