    just a heads up be careful with the dish soap you use because it can damage the clear-coat. Trust me I speak from experience

    • @amarrashid599
      @amarrashid599 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The soap itself is good to strip the whole clear coat and then using the clay bar. In my experience it's good to use for a full vehicle strip followed iron contamination removal, playing, compound, polish, and finally waxing

    • @julianm1964

      Im a professional detailer dish soap can be used for deep cleaning or when applying a new coat of wax or sealent

    • @chrisparker7214
      @chrisparker7214 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Washing your car with dish soap will not damage your clear coat but there are other factors that that will dish so will only strip wax it will not penetrate the clear coat

    Turtle Wax is the best because its stays longer and has better ultraviolet protection. You can't really compare normal wax with liquid wax. The Meguir's package design looks better though...

  • @JMNTN
    @JMNTN 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    i wouldn't claybar unless you want to polish afterwards, claybar always leaves fine scratches behind. On this light color you probably won't see it that much but on a black or dark car you will

    Not to critizise, but dish soap is actually a compound to degrease. Formulated Car wash soap is a concentrate that is made to be gentle on your cars paint. Dish soap like you said is a degreaser which means that it will DESTROY your clear coat. Although you may notice a good shine now. In the future you will have damaged paint and NO clear coat. Not to be mean but your on a bad path :(. I recommend buying a cheap car wash soap like Big Orange by turtle wax. these products are not much more than a bottle of dish soap and they will keep your car looking nice and your clear coat intact. thanks for your time just wanted to let you know.

    • @FIXBROZ
      @FIXBROZ  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I used the dish soap to degrease the paint so I have NO wax on the hood for a fair comparison. I have bunches of different car soaps including Meguiar's gold class, Chemical guys snow foam, Chemical Guys citrus wash and gloss and much more. I only used dish soap so we have no wax on the hood for a fair comparison.

    • @CECFanOffical
      @CECFanOffical 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      FixBroz Correct you are, but without a dilution of the dish soap you will have no wax which you want and also NO clearcoat which you don't want to take off. Only because you aren't properly sealing the car.

      I don't know why but i get better results with the paste version instead the liquid TW. Been using it for years i moved on to spray sealants but i love using the old school paste waxes from time to time or maby i like spending more time with my cars lol. Bough the liquid TW once and after one run i never used it again.

  • @ettore7438

      yeah its true meguiars ultimate is synthetic wax and very easy to work with but i dont mind to spend a little more time and effort,the most easiest wax i used is turtle wax ice liquid wax,anyway you are doing a good job,i wish you luck and will be waiting for more videos.peace

    It's not surprising that Turtlewax repelled the most water, he used most of the bottle on the hood. I've used both and have found that on pristine paint jobs Maguires gives you a competition liquid mirror finish but Turtle wax is an excellent more economical alternative.

    Nice video! Few tips to get a better result next time 1. When cleaning the car use the two bucket method. Use a PH balanced soap formulated for degreasing (pretty sure chemical guys makes it). 2. Use iron X to remove the iron then rinse. 3. After you clay bar the car, wash the car again with a PH balanced car shampoo . Don’t go crazy. Also one more tip. Put microfiber towels under the bottles so they don’t scratch the paint. Enjoyed watching your video! Keep it up! I like that you cleaned the car out of the sun. Can’t wait to see what else you are going to post!

    • @FIXBROZ
      @FIXBROZ  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for the tips. I didn't use the the two bucket method because I was only washing the hood and I didn't need to dip the microfiber towel in soap again. When I wash the whole car I use the two bucket method. Check out this video where I detailed a whole car using only the chemical guys bucket kit. Also I didn't know that chemical guys has degreasing soap thank you for letting me know. Link to full car exterior detailing video th-cam.com/video/nC3S-GEyFhE/w-d-xo.html

    • @nickrutter6875
      @nickrutter6875 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      FixBroz it’s called Chemical guys Clean Slate. I think is like 15 dollars. But well worth it when you want a degreased car. Dish soap is super high in PH and causes many water stains and will actually stain plastics and Rubbers.

    • @FIXBROZ
      @FIXBROZ  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yup might have to try it out. Dish soap is not the best.

    Kid, No DO NOT use dish soap on your card. Car wash solution is formulated for automobile paint unlike “dish soap” also you should use something more like meguiars Iron removing clay spray or another type of clay bar lubricant . I’m not trying to be negative, I’m just trying to give you some constructive criticism to help you out down the road. Also when feeling your car after waxing use the back of your hand. But pretty good job

      No it may not hurt anything but it only gets the light grease layers off and of course some dirt. But car wash is formulated to clean more impurities from everyday road debris and what not. But you are right, it’s not going to hurt anything

      It damages the paint because it strips any residue wax on the car , leaving the clear coat exposed. If he's going to wax it , dish soap is the right approach other than buying another super expensive "paint prep" spray.
