This is an amazing video. I’ve seen another documentary on Prime where they showed a different hunt where there was no snow, but the polar bear sneaked up from below the mountain. It used a rocky outcrop it regularly used as a cover, and pounced on a reindeer that had strayed close. This is a better video, in the sense that the polar bear had to work so much harder. 🥲 fascinating, how animals adapt when their regular prey becomes harder to hunt due to dwindling sea ice. 😐

Well Grizzly and Kodiaks aren't running up hill in deep snow! But you;re right, Grizzly bears can run up to 35mph, black bears can run up to 30 mph and polar bears can run up to 25mph. Fun fact Polar Bears can small their prey as far as 20 miles and through deep snow and/or ice!

I would assume that as long as they're not struggling overmuch, the bears won't make any extra effort to kill them. That's usually how it goes.
