I was an ultraboost user since 2017 and went to the new balance store last month tried the rebel 4 and 1080 v13. For me the v13 were better and had more cushion. Rebel 4 seemed more like a running shoe. I don’t know what magic foam new balance is using but they got me converted. I bought the triple black 1080 v13 they look awesome! Adidas is so behind the cushion game now they really need to step it up!
I just recently got the ultra boost light after not wearing boost style shoes in over 4 years and wow I’m impressed and happy to use as a daily driver tbh
I stand at least 8 hours a day and bought the 1080v13 based on your recommendation. These are the best, most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. I hope new balance keeps this formula around for a while because it's a home run! I personally like the looks.
Really like the value of the Rebel v4. Stopped by my local NB store yesterday to try on. The upper is incredibly breathable and the FuelCell has the bounce I love. Keep posting that heat Hes!
I really enjoy your content. I’ve been a 1080 fan for the last 4 years due to multiple back and hip surgeries due to the plush ride. After watching your video on the NB Rebel v4, I had to try them, in a size 11 the Rebel was insanely lightweight and the upper was excellent… but for someone who is 220lbs with back/hip issues, I experienced some pain/discomfort after 2 miles. For a lighter runner the Rebel may be a good option. My go to NB shoe is the More V4, and I’m really looking forward to the release of the More V5. Thanks for your great content!
I use the triple black 1080 for work where I walk for 8 hours and they have been great. My feet are not as tired at the end of the day compared to the 993 which was my favorite before the 1080.
Fresh Foam 1080 v14 runs Narrow and the Rebel v4 is wide foot friendly. Even the reviews say this. I have both so I am sharing this with you guys. @Hes Kicks
I have both and they are 2 worlds apart in so many ways that it is amusing to even compare in the first place. Just to state one, the v13 is just super comfortable shoe that can last a very long time.
I have both...1080 are definitely more comfortable and softer. But more for walking and easy pace. I wish they had the breathabilty of the rebel v4. Rebel v4 is lighter and good for running.
I work at a car plant I’m on my feet 8 hrs a day. The new balance rebel v4 wide with a heel insert is a game changer. I have flat feet. Only pair of shoes I feel are worth retail and will buy without thinking twice.
@@xf5236 it’s extra cushioning for your heel. I stand a lot and weigh 280 so it helps. Also I’ve moved on to the latest 1080. There v4 has bottomed out
Just tried on the rebels and they’re good but the 1080v13s are waaay better IMO as far as comfort. Big disappointment because I was expecting it to blow my mind since you and Seth Fowler ranked it high for comfort. Good for the price point tho. Gonna wait for the later releases
I have the 1080 V 13 and I love the cushion of the shoe. It’s honestly better than any other new balance and I’ve had all of them. Only dislike is that I tend to super Nate slightly and because the cushion is so soft and there’s not a lot of flare on the out I tend to feel like I’m going to roll outward.
I have both also and I love them both! I agree it's hard to choose if you could only choose 1! I do wish there was a tad bit more cushion on the upper in the rebels like the back area where your Achilles sits and the tongue was a bit softer material. I'm a nurse and I'm in my feet all day and I love them both. I'm going to SeaWorld in a few days and I think I'm gonna choose the rebels for the trip. If you had to choose one for a theme park day which one would you choose?
Have both. For running, walking in dry conditions or for style the RebelV4 is preferable. But Ive walked around in wet conditions in the V4 and almost slipped/had my a$$ handed to me a few times walkin around Seattle. By comparison, the 1080 (and the v14 especially now) is hands down the better more versatile overall show. More structure, support and grip. V4s make you feel nimble with comfort, the 1080s feel plush and supportive without feeling heavy or clunky.
I have about 100 miles in the Rebel v4, just finished a half marathon in them. This shoe can do it all. Daily trainer, interval, threshold, and obviously raceday if you're not a fan of carbon plates. I considered the 1080, but the weight was an issue for me. I strongly considered the 1080 for an athleisure shoe for long days of walking and standing (I work elections a few times a year), but I went with the Ghost Max for stability reasons. The softer FFX just didn't feel like it would keep me stable the whole day (I'm a big dude). No major signs of outsole wear yet on the Rebel, but I'm guessing the outsole will wear out before the midsole (probably 250 miles). At $140, that's a pretty good deal.
I tried today Rebel V4 because their was so much positive reviews about V4😍, but then at the store I tried 1040 🤯 and I immediately knew that it's 1040 and I threw the V4 immediately 😂from my feet's, the cushion in 1040 is the BEST 🤩in the Market, they even are better then Hoka and Ascis
So I found a coupon code for the 1080v13 and now I can compare the 2. I kept hearing the Rebel V4 was super comfortable. But just trying them on, the 1080v13 seems softer.
Hey guys, I'm pretty crazy with shoes. I have over 40 pairs. 25+ Yeezys. I cant wear Jordans or anything hard. I work 50+ hrs a week in hospitals. I have a few pairs of Nike's, a few pairs of Adidas, and 2 pairs of NB Hierrov7 and a pair of 880v12 and 2 pairs of 1080v12, Standard and Permafrost. I got the 1080v13 in triple black. They're amazing! I've had them for 3 weeks and literally only worn other shoes a couple times. The v13 is the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. I want the Rebel v4 but I don't love the thin tongue or the heel collar versus the v13. I'll probably still get a pair later in the year, especially if they drop a Permafrost V4.
I was looking for a summer shoe and tried the 1080 v13 first. They were not breathable enough for me. The Rebels are 10 times better for that and I ended up buying them in two different colours and have been extremly satisfied with them at the first warm days of the year. They are both very good though.
So Invincible Runs are my go to all day walking shoe. I bought the NB SC Trainer 1 & 2 because if your recommendation. I wear the 1 to work but haven’t had a chance to walk or stand all day in them. So I ordered the Rebel V4 because of your review and someone else’s review claiming that they were more comfortable than the Invincible Runs. But now I’m seeing so many people loving the 1080v13. So in your opinion which is better than the Invincible Run? And which is more comfortable between these 2 and the SC Trainers?
Hi, I just got new balance 1080 utility for 140€ with a 30% discount, what do you think it’s a good deal and there is any difference between 1080 v13 and 1080 utility in terms of comfort? Thank you
I bought the Rebel V4s and had to send them back. I have flat feet and the arch support in them is very prominent and it hurt my feet a lot whilst wearing them and was uncomfortable. Something to keep in mind if you also have flat feet.
Thanks for the informative review. I usually wear Nike shoes with the invincible 3 as my daily shoes. It came time to get new shoes and I just recently just picked up the 1080 v13. Let see how these hold up.
I bought the rebel v4 and didn't like the tongue so much I had to return it. The length was terrible for me. Wore it tight and I'll feel it poking. Wore it loose and felt it slipping down.
I tried to rebel v4s I didn’t like the rocker they had. I know it’s a performance racing shoe so I get it but I think I’ll opt for the 1080v13s instead. Do they have a rocker too or not as much?
How would you compare them as far as potential foot or leg fatigue? Are they too soft in that regard. You mentioned you logged a lot of steps in these. Did you encounter any of that with either?
I think it really depends on the person, their preference and maybe their weight, I usually don't have any foot fatigue. Honestly, I prefer the comfort, the arches of my feet hurt with shoes like Nike dunks and air max ones
Hi thanks for your video, i brought new balance after watching your video. And i love the new balancs shoes, I got the 1080 v13 and fuelcell supercomb, both are awsome and cusion and soft . I perfer 1080 v13 everyday so soft and squesshy.
I’ve got the 1080v12 and 1080v13 and the fuel cell super comfy trainer v2 and I actually think the super comfy v2 is the best of the 3. I’m torn between the v12’s and v13’s. I feel the v12’s were a more versatile shoe. More of an every day shoe for me where as I feel the v13’s got super soft and more strictly a long run, recovery shoe. I think I preferred the v12’s, new balance are the only shoes I’ll wear. I don’t understand the ASICS fans, I have a pair of novablast3’s and find them to be terrible. I also have a pair of gel nimbus. I ditched them as my long run/recovery shoe. I’m trying to get my hands on a size 9 new balance super comfy elite v4, but they are sold out everywhere atm.
Greetings from Athens. I have both pair of shoes and I can confirm that I fully agree with your review. Together with 2 pairs of nimbus 25 , I feel I have a very satisfactory collection of sport shoes.
The 1080 fresh foam has a strange angle around the ankle in the upper. It rubs my lateral and medial malleolus and that’s never happened in new balance or Nike or saucony or anything. Comfy otherwise. You can see the front upper ankle is longer and straight. Anyway, weird design. Should be rounded on both sides of ankle.
Tryna find new shoes as a healthcare worker and honestly been binging your vids.. yet im still so torn haha. Need some that can withstand being in the same spot all day but also be able to do some walking for long distances, so prob need some with support? Love the look of 1080s but im afraid i wont like like the extra cushion after awhile. I used to always but sketchers but the foam bottoms out within a year
I personally enjoy both equally. My only issue with the rebel is the tongue. I wish it was slightly longer. When I put them on, it’s a bit annoying, but that is extremely minor.
I got my girl the 1080v13, then I tried it myself. Both of us noticed the same thing. The midsole in the heel is so overly compliant that the shoe seems to fall into negative drop when you're just standing around casually. This stresses my knee and feels like it's at risk of hypextending Otherwise, amazing shoe. But that's a no go from me dawg. Can't do that. Got the v12 which is more stable and stuff, still very comfy, I like the knit more. but the upper isn't as plush as the 13 and also it's not quite as soft or squishy. Still a very comfy and soft shoe in it's own right and much sleeker. Also got the more v4 which is incredibly cushy and stable asf. once again the upper isn't as plush. Can I just get a slightly sleeker morev4 with a silky plush pillowy upper please? If they fix the heel on the v14, I will get that for sure.
In UK 🇬🇧 the triple black in both models is sold out Also the triple white only few small sizes are available All is left all those rainbow colours for clowns shoes which no one seems to really care or go crazy about apart the New Balance designer guy which is always high on weed
Please comment the high arch of the rebel v4. I’ve run over 200 miles in the 1080s and absolutely love them, but I tried on the rebels the other day and immediately noticed pressure points in the arch and a lack of cushioned feeling under the big toe
interesting! I tried the v13s in a shop today and didnt immediately noticed a difference except for when i ran in them but i dont use them for running anyway, just walking and lifestyle
I recently bought the adidas super nova rise, would like to know if the cushioning for the rise is closer to the 1080 V13 or the rebel V4. Will be using the shoe mostly for work or casual wear, with a few trips to the gym on the treadmill. I’m in my mid 50’s and over 200 lbs who played a lot of basketball , so looking for a shoe that will be easy on my knees. Thank you .
I love my rebel v3 so I decided to pick up a white/linen mens wide sz11 from ebay (shipped form Taiwan to US), from the looks I thought it will be more softer the V3, for me its just a bit softer/bounce. I tried the 1080v13 and Nike invincible 3 at dicks yesterday. the V13 is something else! it removed my doubts with fresh foam when I tried before (More v4). now Im in the hunt for for that navy/white V13! HES please do V13 vs Nike zoom type!
Asics Nimbus 25 or 26 for cushion and stability. These New balance are criticized for lacking stability, specially from people with over pronation or supination, the feet rolls inwards/outwards. I've read a ton of comments saying that.
@@Gabriela.Lamira really? I’ve always thought the new balance ones were good. The ASICS are really good tho I’ve tried the nimbus and keyano and great. Actually the keyanos felt pretty good. Supportive and plush
I have both, my opinion is I love both shoes don't get me wrong but my 1080 v13s are way, way more comfortable and my new balance super comp elite v4s are so far, my best new balance shoes!!! but that 250+ price point hurt good.......I love my Rebel also but it's to me just didn't last long enough they just feel flat now and will not buy another pair. i got the fuel cell rebel ones based on your previous last models' video actually i got both lol but yea they are super soft and squishy.. new balance is my go to now cos these vids man.. both me and my mom ( shes got fibromyalgia and her feet are in pain most of the time so soft helps) but yea i like how they are wider than last years model . but honestly i cant tell the difference of squishyness between last model and this models when on feet but thats probably just me cause when i pinch em i do feel the difference. all i know is i cant wait for the fresh foam morev5 later this yr i bet theyll be my fav ... but yo HES i ordered some 361degrees shoes the foam summer hole ones and they are way more squishy than all these american shoes bro straight up .. way more comfy than yeezy or croc echo sandals imo .. off aliexpress.. like 40$ . . they got some crazy squishy lookin sneakers but the dope looking ones are too expensive for me rn.... theyre like $200 so i went for their comfort "sandals" for $30-$50.. i got the size too big so im exchanging them but they were sooooo squishy i had to cop some other models too .. they should get there this week
Hello from Sydney, Australia. No doubt, both are great shoes for the right leg. Bought these shoes based on this channel's recommendation. I bought them both, but due to my wide feet (one size up won't fix the issue either), breathability issues, and being too soft (which caused me heel pain after walking for 3hrs in a shopping mall), I decided to return 1080 v13's, and kept the Rebel V4's. I found these are true to size fit, much more breathable, less weight (literally I don't feel like I wear them and are on par with my CloudSurfer), and not as soft as 1080's- yet stable due to wide shoe arrangement. Bonus, I also love the look of Graphite colour shoe. Long term durable could be a concern though but time will tell.

@@kostaskopelos5669 thanks man 👊
I’ve tried on both at the same time and the 1080 v13 was more comfy and cushioned…imho!
the 1080v13 is super light and also has the best cushion
Dope vid bro. I think want to go with the rebel v4. I already have a pair of 880v13s and they're dope.
Should be rounded on both sides of ankle.
hi just saw your reviews and wonder if you have any recommendation for Seniors with bunions, knee problem, for walking & traveling. thank you
Tryna find new shoes as a healthcare worker and honestly been binging your vids.. yet im still so torn haha.
I totally agree with that! Minor but not as easy to get on
I got my girl the 1080v13, then I tried it myself.
The triple black v13' wide version are great for long casual walking in places like Costco. I plan on copping another pair in a different color soon.
i hear these two arent very durable?
In UK 🇬🇧 the triple black in both models is sold out
Also the triple white only few small sizes are available
All is left all those rainbow colours for clowns shoes which no one seems to really care or go crazy about apart the New Balance designer guy which is always high on weed
Please comment the high arch of the rebel v4. I’ve run over 200 miles in the 1080s and absolutely love them, but I tried on the rebels the other day and immediately noticed pressure points in the arch and a lack of cushioned feeling under the big toe
What shoe would be better for heel spur pain?
I have v12 and I tried v13 for a week and didn't notice much difference. Just some heads up for v12 owners.
interesting! I tried the v13s in a shop today and didnt immediately noticed a difference except for when i ran in them but i dont use them for running anyway, just walking and lifestyle
I went to the new balance store and they recommended the Vongo … what about videos on those ?
anybody know which one would support flat foot better?
Is there a fake New balance 1080v13 or any running shoes??
If you want some structure don’t sleep on the Vongo V6 it’s a more structure shoe than the 1080
I recently bought the adidas super nova rise, would like to know if the cushioning for the rise is closer to the 1080 V13 or the rebel V4. Will be using the shoe mostly for work or casual wear, with a few trips to the gym on the treadmill. I’m in my mid 50’s and over 200 lbs who played a lot of basketball , so looking for a shoe that will be easy on my knees. Thank you .
Thank you so much for this video. I been waiting for a while. It’s exactly what I needed to hear
Glad it was helpful!
I have the rebel v4 I’m in Europe and they don’t offer wide versions I had to go up one size but once I did they were incredible
Dude, you’ve yet to steer me wrong… your reviews are spot on!!!
1080 v13 way better than fuel cell for pillow like feel , just being lighter didn’t make them more comfortable . First time I disagree with ur pick 🤷
Which would you recommend for ankle arthritis? Maybe stability & cushion
I guess you could say they were good out the gate for around 250 300 miles and my 1080's have 400+ and are still very comfy actually I am bout to order another pair!
The blacked out rebel V4 looks like the Lamborghini of footwear 🤯
Might have to cop a pair
where do the fuel cell super comp trainers rank compared to these?
He says he doesn't wear them as much to walk around since the plate causes too much rolling action for his feet
i tried on both today. v13 wins
What’s the difference in shoes with a rocker
I just got my more v 5s in the mail you need to try this!!
I got both in triple black for work. I have a lot of shoes so it's a small part of the rotation. You shouldn't buy it as an everyday shoe its too soft, way softer than an ultra boost for example.
Does Rebel has exact same foam as SC Elite ?
Yo Hes you are an NB affiliate , can you find out when they are going to have the triple black Rebel fuelcell 4s in larger sizes?
Man i wish i knew I want em too! I can ask but usually dont know
Do you know where I can find online store that still has these rebel v4 shoes in full black color
1080 v13’s are a game changer🤘🏼
How do these stack up to the 990v6?
Got the 1080v13, London Marathon edition, it was really comfy and so nice. I have the v12 too and am really loving the 1080 series
Is there big difference between the two versions ..I mean should I upgrade to v13..thanks
@@aboaaser9213 nah, the v12 is good enough I think...
@@aboaaser9213 v13 is much better softness and has rebound that the v12 didnt.... worth the upgrade
Bought both last week 😉
i got the fuel cell rebel ones based on your previous last models' video actually i got both lol but yea they are super soft and squishy.. new balance is my go to now cos these vids man.. both me and my mom ( shes got fibromyalgia and her feet are in pain most of the time so soft helps) but yea i like how they are wider than last years model . but honestly i cant tell the difference of squishyness between last model and this models when on feet but thats probably just me cause when i pinch em i do feel the difference. all i know is i cant wait for the fresh foam morev5 later this yr i bet theyll be my fav ... but yo HES i ordered some 361degrees shoes the foam summer hole ones and they are way more squishy than all these american shoes bro straight up .. way more comfy than yeezy or croc echo sandals imo .. off aliexpress.. like 40$ . . they got some crazy squishy lookin sneakers but the dope looking ones are too expensive for me rn.... theyre like $200 so i went for their comfort "sandals" for $30-$50.. i got the size too big so im exchanging them but they were sooooo squishy i had to cop some other models too .. they should get there this week
Which models of 361?
Always love your recommendations HES and these are both great choices but for a Daily Sneaker I will take the 1080 V13’s
Is that the Kaws Uniqlo shirt your wearing in the vid?
Yep!
waiting in more colourways for the rebel v4
@heskicks do you wear shoes in the house?
I got 3 different colors of 1080s , very comfy
Best shoes I have 1080 the best I buy my 4 pairs
just got the 1080 in white and light blue so insane. I ordered the rebel in navy blue thanks again !!!!
Positive Comment!!!
1080v13 vs SC Trainer 2?
That's a good one. I'll have to think about it, they do have a super comp trainer V3 coming this year though so I'll do that comparison.
Thank you for the videos!!!
Thanks for watching!
