Watch in HD! This is the first video that I've put together in this manner, that is, going geographically from one area to another. Oh boy, where to begin.
The genesis of this project lies some two years back, when I had the idea to produce a video for DVD. Without a sustainable income at the time I had little choice, so I put together a video of the train lines around Barstow, and tried to market it to DVD companies. Nothing happened. Recently, however, I got my adsense account back, and realized that I had a massive project just sitting around taking up space. I never wanted to do a "trains galore" video, as those are just gimmicks, so I repackaged this one for the internet, as basically just a geographical ordering of the best shots I've taken along the lines out there. This way, people who want to take a tour of the Cajon, Mojave, and Needles subdivisions can just sit back and follow along, instead of my normal chronological order, which frequently jumps between stations. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy a full three and a half hours of nonstop action, desert scenery, and great trains in, Mojave Magic! I’ve lived in many beautiful regions in this country from the mountains in Oregon, the mountains of Colorado, and the mesas of northern Arizona. Nothing beats the southwest for majestic beauty.

Aah!! My old stompin’ grounds. I grew up as a boy in El Paso and Tularosa, New Mexico. One thing I can tell you, no matter how hot in the day it gets, it serves equal measure in how cold in the morning it gets. Best have a jacket in that ol’ pickup truck with you.

I know I'm a bit late to the party here, but just wanted to compliment this amazing video! Nice work! I can tell you had to work hard to produce it because it appears you shot from locations away from crossings. So you had to do some hiking and research. The worst type of train videos are the ones where the camera is set up right next to a crossing. All the loud bell ringing and horn blowing can really aggravate the viewer. Don't get me wrong I love the sounds, but not at point blank range blaring out of the speaker. It's much more pleasant and atmospheric from a distance. Not to mention it shows a laziness by the photographer who simply drove to a crossing and took two steps away from his vehicle for a wedge shot anyone could have taken. Anyway, thank you for taking the time to do it better!
