AU: in which El goes after someone in the void but ends up finding someone else. she gets puzzled because of how interesting that girl was and tries to find her in real life. they eventually become really close friends and all of the party accepted her to be in it too. the thing is, el finds herself in trouble as she realizes that she's falling in love with max. the feeling was mutual but they couldn't admite it so they would just stick with their flings pretending that everything was alright when it wasn't. until they finally have a conversation about it and both of them dumps their partners. they kiss and hopper sees it. he gets mad at the time and stops el from seeing max, but then he realizes that his daughter was way happier with the redhead and allows them to date and to finally be a couple.
