This interior is so spot on I almost can't even handle

I used to snub Korean cars while growing up in Canada putting Japanese cars on pedastal. But now paradigm shift has begun. Embarrasingly too many Korean Immigrants choose to buy Japanese cars (while they always verballize racial slur against Japanese) whereas so many inundating number of conventional non Asian Canadians CHOOSE to buy Korean cars simply because they are well made. Even the Japanese auto-industry leaders think that Korean cars' quality, design and value are threat to their world market share. Canadian consumers do thorough research before buying whereas Koreans seem to care more about brand image. I used to drive used Beamer before, but now own 2017 Tucson. I am thinking of trading in for more gas efficient smaller Korean car in future. Speaking of ELANTRA 2021 black colour seating is better, because valuable belongings in back seats can be hidden better in the dark to avoid window break in and petty theft which is so rampant in Canada.

I'm so glad they got rid of the 2019-2020 design. I drive a 2018 and I had always found the "newer" design to be ugly. This 2021 one is gorgeous.

Always great to see your videos. Your reviews are Never Boring like so many other car reviewers. Even though you are in Korea, your reviews have our U.S. Measurements so we know exactly what you are talking about. You make it much more enjoyable to watch and you are the ONLY one I've subscribed for Notification bells. Keep up the great reviews, you are doing a phenomenal job!
BTW, Love the New 2021 Elantra. Glad they got rid of the "Triangle" front end and made the care more sporty looking. Also so glad their "CVT" doesn't drone like the competition. Great Job on the interior too. It's first-class in its class. It makes me want one too!

Mark Gian I would go a Cerato GT. Best value for Aussie market. I bargained one down to 30k drive away. Otherwise I’ve owned an i30 in a manual transmission and it was awesome! Cerato GT has the dual clutch which gives a more engaging sporty drive. If your an everyday driver Cerato Sedan or i30 Sedan will be the same and it will depend on looks.

Excellent review! What you can say about perfomance between in my case santa fe II 2008 2.2 and elantra 1.6 VII, by the book it says elantra is 2 sec faster speaking about 0-100, in your opinion it feels like the same or is much better in this case the elantra? I m asking exactly if Elantra feels less powered than the santa fe or kind the same feeling. Thanks a lot!!:) cheers

Great review Charlie! Do you think the digital screen for gauge cluster will still be functional for longer term (10 years+)? I’m worried that digital screen will become slower over the years due to over-use of the CPU/GPU and also additional OTA updates compared to traditional analogue gauge clusters. What do you think?

I can’t believe how much car you can get for the money these days. 20 years ago adjusted for inflation a 20k (14k then) car was a very basic, probably manual transmission, probably 120 horsepower glorified tin can. Set the enthusiast stuff aside like a lightweight and nimble handling... my dads brand new Mazda protege had cloth bus-like seats and 15 inch alloy wheels.

It's not uncommon for car manufacturers to have a "hiccup" every now and then. What important though, is to recognize what went wrong and rectify the problem swiftly. Hyundai has done that definitely with this new release.

It's nice. Your test model is sleek and classy. I like it a lot, but I think people are too hard on the last design. The triangles weren't bad, but the new one is nicer, except that the triangles have migrated to the side panels. I think the takeaway was that the last Elantra was, in general, a good design, with the one huge exception of the front end. Don't quote me on the year, but I want to say Honda did the exact same thing in 2013. The 2012 design what just a swing and a miss, even though they had just completed a complete redesign the year prior. This new one looks very sharp, especially compared to last year's look. I am looking forward to an Elantra GT and I still lament the passing of the Elantra Touring (wagon).

Wow,...the more I see this 2021 Elantra/Avante I like it more & more Charlie. Overall exterior design looks really great, nice and upscale compared to previous gen' car. I think I like this front end better than 7th gen' Sonata. Really like what Hyundai is doing with the rear taillight design, in this case full LED looks great. I'm not crazy about the triangle creases on the side of the car, but I'll wait to see one in person to really decide if it looks good or not. Interior looks great, certainly better than previous gen' car, which I liked also. Luv the 10.25" LED Gauge cluster with 12.3 infotainment screen. I see they took your advice my friend & put the RPM guage dial back to turning left to right, I like that much better too. I really like the design of the front instrument panel a lot, again to me looks better than New Sonata IMO. I don't mind that handle on the console too much, but will have to wait n see one in person to decide. Power seems adequate as you said with 8-speed CVT, but Hyundai seems to do CVT's better than other brands, works smooth and no dronning noise as you stated. It seems they really focused on driving dynamics more with this car as you said it's very stable even though it was raining heavily during your test drive. Overall I like this New 2021 Elantra a lot, can't wait to see one on the road soon. Another home-run for Hyundai. Great job as always Charlie!
