Even years later and knowing how it all works out, the Fitzsimmons of it all still gets to me 😭😭😭 Also yes, the fact that Mack is played by Henry Simmons really drives home the "he has a new Simmons" idea 😂
Nick (Hunter) and Adrienne (Bobbie) seem to catch up about once or twice a year according to social media.
Nick is also very good friends with Iain (Fitz). Iain used to have very dormant social media accounts and the best way to find out what he was up to was to see when he appeared on Nick’s feed
I always end up saying this, but this show does manipulators insanely well. I've known manipulators and this is exactly how they talk, their mannerisms, everything is spot on. To be fair, I think both brothers believe what they are saying is true, and it makes it 10x harder to figure it out. Endless applause for the writers and show runners.
Seeing Fitz and Simmons is heartbreaking, but I really love how Mack is treating Fitz. I like how they brought in a new character to help Fitz instead of having Fitz supported by one of the original characters, because Fitz's change is difficult. Like Mack said, he never knew Fitz before, so he doesn't have a skewed perception of who Fitz is "supposed to be" he can just be there for Fitz, who he is now.
SPOILERS FOR NEXT 2 EPISODES.
We see that Cristian is at least lying about the Thomas story in the next episode though. He says in this one "So there's a well now." As if there never was a well, when we see and hear that the well story did happen in the next episode. He does probably think himself the morally superior brother, but Cristain knows full well that he is lying to save face in front of Couldon here, I believe, making up a story about Ward just standing over Thomas with a hammer.
It's fascinating, how we never until the end know for sure which Ward brother is full of more shit.

"Don't die out there, alright?" is the cutest love language between Bobbi and Hunter. Oh, there are sparks when they rub each other the wrong way, and they do, all the time. But there are also quite a few sparks of another sort between them.

You might already know this, but May having been married actually came up before this episode-she mentioned it during the lie-detector scene in season one.
Ward was in juvie for setting the family house on fire with his older brother in it. His younger brother didn't die. And as he mentioned when doing the lie detector he also has a sister.
So you're up to _What If,_ eh? That's a new way to think of some characters you think you know.
Anyway, I think Simmons is exhibiting high confidence that Fitz can pull it off. But he needs to take it at his own pace, and by rushing him, she is unintentionally making the stress worse. Real Simmons can't read his mind and pick the correct term that Fitz couldn't verbalize, though Fitz hopes she would, which is why Imaginary Simmons can do just that. We can hope they'll figure out how to communicate properly in some upcoming epis-- wait, _What If,_ you said? Huh.
