- Yooper Santa by Nanna
Up in the North where the snow gets deep,
Santa trades his sleigh for a trusty Jeep.
With flannel on his back and boots on his feet,
Yooper Santa's bringing Christmas heat.
He’s got a thermos of coffee, a map in his hand,
Plowing through the snow in the Upper Land.
No reindeer here, just a pack of sled dogs,
Howling through the woods, over frozen bogs.
Yooper Santa’s on his way,
Riding through the snow and sleighing the day.
With a wink in his eye and a laugh so bold,
He warms the North in the icy cold.
Oh, Yooper Santa, hear him cheer,
Merry Christmas to all in the Northwoods clear!
The chimney’s too tight, so he kicks the door,
Leaves gifts in boots on the cabin floor.
Ice-fishing gear, a brand-new sled,
And pasties wrapped in paper red.
The Northern Lights guide his trail tonight,
Through snowdrifts glowing in the pale moonlight.
From Houghton to Marquette, every town he sees,
Spreading joy like the pine-scented breeze.
By the campfire’s glow, he hums a tune,
Under a sky of stars and the winter moon.
His beard’s frosted white, his cheeks a rosy hue,
Bringing the North a Christmas that’s true.
So if you hear sled dogs bark tonight,
And see boot tracks glowing in the northern light,
Know Yooper Santa’s been passing through,
Bringing Christmas cheer to folks like you.
