This is all well and good for large boxes which are mostly the same size, but try with almost 500 boxes of varying sizes. I just started a warehouse job and am loading orders with 480 boxes of completely different sizes and it is bloody hard work to form a neat stack - ESPECIALLY WITHIN THE ALLOTTED TIME!!!!

Do you have a calculator, how to pack various size boxes on a pallet. I just dimension of boxes so it tells me which boxes to place where.

What about packing the odd size & shaped boxes. Not all boxes will be the same size. Show how you would pack a pallet that included boxes with the approx following dimensions: 3" X 5" x 12", 4" x 8" x 32", & 12" x 15" x 15". All these boxes have varying weights, and they're not unloaded from the truck in any particular order? And you have to be fast.

I worked as an unloader at a big store once upon a time. Stacking different size boxes is a skill that you'll eventually get better at with time. So patience is the key.
Here are some tips to follow:
      1. Try to build a wall first.
A common mistake people do is start stacking the entire pallet first instead of the back side. Build a steady wall first then start coming towards the front of the pallet. You'll run out of room fast if you just stack every corner of the pallet before you get a wall going, trust me. Stop once you reach a certain height, anything higher than 7 1/2 feet I find to be not very stable, and may need to be wrapped depending on the stack. Cross tie each wall with each other for stability.
      2. Use the entire space of a pallet.
Another common rookie mistake is leaving a gap at the end of every pallet. Always fill the pallet no matter the size of the box, and ONLY leave a gap in between boxes if the box isn't long enough, that way you can fit small slim boxes in between each stack. This may sound confusing considering what I said in my previous point, but it isn't the same thing.
      3. Cheat to get an even stack.
Do whatever you can to get an even stack. That means turning, flipping a box upside down when you aren't supposed to. The boxes I found to be a pain in the ass to stack are small liquid shampoo boxes. Do what you can to get a flat even surface. Follow basic physics: Heavy bottom, medium heavy middle, light or very light, top. This may not always work out depending on how fast your are unloading with various boxes coming out of the truck, but its still basic rule to follow. Never try to use a light box as a base, unless the box is very sturdy or big enough that it can withhold to stand weight above its own.
Try to also not overhang your top stacks with your bottom base, meaning try not to make your top stack bigger wider than your base.
      4. Cross tie everything
When you get a flat even stack on the entire pallet, cross tie it. Think of an even stack as another empty pallet, just go the opposite way so the stack gets some stability.
      I hope this helps.

This video is bullshit, different sizes, all at once and no time to waste. Pallets fill up and then you are screwed. Fired!
