    Man, I have to admir, I really miss Rodos, I learned how to windsurf there in 2017. Came back every year until Corona happened...
    Great video :)

      Corona has made things harder with travel but Rhodes has been a place where, during the summer at least, you can easily visit and have a good time with little effect from the pandemic!
      So make sure to visit again soon and escape a little! Still a guaranteed good time!

    Great video, thanks. How does trimming the sail effect the position of the lines? If I add or loosen off some outhall in a session this results in re-positioning the lines. Also changing boom height seems to effect the center position.

      If your sail is rigged properly, small changes wont effect it much... but if you try to change the rigging substantially for going out in lighter winds for example then you will have to check again.
      Loosening the outhaul a lot will obviously change the centre of effort in the sail so your lines will have to change as well.
      Keep in mind that under tensioning your sail in either outhaul or downhaul could make it so that the sail generally feels bad and harness lines setting wont really help to perfection!
      I hope this makes sense and helps somehow! :)

    Hi Kyriakos, glad you re making videos again, what about laydown jibe and then carve 360 videos? I m asking since they are quite the foundation of carving and maybe people is struggling as me to learn them properly! Thanks

    Hi. Nice movie . What about length? I got some problems to find my sweet spot of location and length of harness. Still discovering

      Hey! This always takes some time and practice, so no worries. Just keep trying.
      Length is really something different for everyone. It depends on what you like and your style of riding. But generally speaking you want to start at about the length of your forearm and then play around from there.
      I hope this helps! :)

    Does sailing direction affect harness position? If I want to sail faster upwind, will moving the lines back help?

    • @kyriakosgiakoumaroswingandwind
      @kyriakosgiakoumaroswingandwind  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your lines are perfectly balanced and you follow the parameters that I mention in the video you shouldnt need to shift the location.
      And if you do shift slightly back then you will not be balanced on the straight sailing.
      What you say does make sense and would probably work but i myself have not tried it.

    Great. I could never understand why sailors have the harness lines so close on the boom. N ow I can set them up as you have shown.

      Happy to have helped!
      It may take a few sessions to really get used to a new setup so dont give up too early.
      Enjoy! :)

    I'm always fiddling around with my harness lines. Every variation in setting on the same sail makes me move the lines. Still very often not perfect :/

    • @kyriakosgiakoumaroswingandwind
      @kyriakosgiakoumaroswingandwind  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, changing the rigging of the sail will effect your lines. but if its only by a little there shouldnt be a problem. Big changes in the rigging mean changes in the lines. But keep in mind that under tensioning your sail with the intention of catching more wind, many times just makes your sail feel heavy and uncomfortable so the lines wont save it there. I generally dont advise doing that to your rigging unless you really dont have another sail to go out on.
      Also, some sail brands make huge differences on rigging where other have a more stable shape no matter what you do to them... so depends on your sail as well!
      Hope you find that perfect balance soon! :)
