I like a 5 inch putty knife and a wire brush for the grates. Also I elevate the wheels under the fire box with a 3/8 piece of plywood so the grease runs toward the drain not into the fire box while I’m cooking. Also a ball valve and an empty paint can work great for the grease drain. No mess.
Thanks for the video! So at what point would you need to re-season the smoker? Also was that grease draining into the firebox? Anything you recommend for that?
I was also wondering about the grease draining into the firebox? I saw Omar raising up the firebox side of his cooker in one of his videos. Was that to help prevent the grease from draining into the firebox?
I'm wondering the same thing. Maybe the pit is dead level but was cooking on a slight incline that allowed grease back into the fire box? Does seem that it'd burn though if it happened during cooking
What about hosing out the cook chamber after a cook while it’s still hot to “steam clean” and letting the heat dry off the residual water. Would that still promote rust?
At the 0:50 second mark you clearly see the smoker is rollin hot'. I don't think you're supposed to clean the inside of the grill when it's on...lmao. Also, there's so much rust already inside of it when you start scraping the gunk lol. Great looking smoker tho!
He just refuses to use a cover. However, at anytime over the 100 years of this smokers lifetime, you can take it back to brand new. The key to linseed coating
I added 5 washers on each of the 8 bolts between the casters and legs on the firebox side of things to get a bit of a slope to the grease drain.
Please… MORE VIDEOS! 🤘🏼🙌🏼😎

I use a cheap jack to tilt my 1969 towards the drain. It really depends on the level of the surface your pit sits on.
How can you tell the difference between the rust inside compared to patina?
I need that smoker.
Are they any kind of website that I can go on to look at the Workhorse smoker cuz I'm interesting in buying one but I can't find no website
It's there.

As long as no water or moisture is left in the smoker, but it still would be unnecessary
You’re a beast
