Today is my Ten Year Anniversary of this Mario Paint video! It was the first Mario Paint video on TH-cam to feature multiple Mario Paint music instances edited together to create longer songs. Though my splicing and video editing was pretty horrific back then, this original idea allowed me to choose music from a NES game which mainly used the key of A minor, allowing for a close rendition to the original game.
Holy crap, you are the man. This is probably the best 8 -bit music around and you did a great job of keeping the 8 bit charm and adding some of the mario paint charm too!
I have this game and when I herd that, I got out my old NES from the dust and played Punch Out just to hear that music. So awsome! Continue like that! ^^
0:03 - Glass Joe's Theme 0:12 - The Fight Starts! 0:15 - Main THeme 1:20 - "Get Up!!" 1:30 - Title Bout!! 1:36 - Exercise Theme (Or "N**** Stole Mah Bike" for those who haven't heard the original)
OMG! This definitely takes me back...I used to love composing/arranging music on Mario Paint when i was about 12 (about 13 yrs ago). This is simply amazing though. Very nice!
What I hear: Mike was TOUGH! Man, that guy could knock your lunch out! Then went to jail. His contract went offstream, but Nintendo still had a scheme, with douchebaggy Mr. Dream! Goddamn you, Brent Black.
X D I love this. One time, my brother Johnny popped in this game and played through and beat it...10 times in a flippin row. and I watched. Never thought I'd be happy to hear this song again, but I am.
Haha the training song, the way it's arranged with trumpet and acoustic guitar, sounds legitimately like a Spanish folk song or something. Awesome effort put into this!!
This is by far the best version of the tune I've heard so far. Thank you for being musical and capturing as many nuances as you could. Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise (like most jealous fucks on youtube) but you are obviously a fan of both Mario Paint and Tyson's Punch Out.
Of all the people who listen to this...I wonder how many have actually played the original Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!...? I actually BEAT the game. One of the hardest experiences of my life. This is an awesome recreation!
I'm listening to this for the first time and I just want to let you know that I'm really happy that you're still active and keeping up with the good work
mario paint was a SNES program where you could create music and paitn pictures and all kinds of crazy things! the song is from Mike tysons punch out for the nes, also a fun game
Excellent. It was really accurate, despite the limitations. On a side note, Glass Joe's introduction is a part of "La marseillaise", the French national anthem.
the second tune was when they walk to the center of the ring, after that it was the fighting theme, then the theme that plays when mac is knocked down, and then the "nigga stole my bike" tune, the training screen with mac and doc
I love you Tom. I have the issue of Nintendo Power that mentions you. I loved MP as a kid. but i could NEVER do what you do. you have the patience of a saint
LOL... I doubt many people recognise just how tricky it must've been to arrange that, especially considering your tool was mario paint!!! (and yes, this is coming from a fellow musician). Well done, nice job.

Easily the most amazing thing I have ever heard. I have total respect for the man that put the time and effort into this. Congratulations.
This is the oldest comment that I have ever replied to.

Love that bass heart and the meow-yow-yow
11 years this video and still is cool and better when I hear it
It still is so wonderful to watch these old videos... That you were able to make such quality covers with such limited tools never ceases to amaze.
Tyson stole my bike!!! 🚲🏃 NOT AGAIN!
Nice bike Brentalfloss! It's mine now!
It wouldn't bother me, can't even ride a bike.
