Janet was always very innovative. Folks always wanna bring up her dancing and lack of vocal talent but the truth is she is a visionary who was always ahead of the curve. She changed the r&b musical landscape at the time...NOBODY and i mean NOBODY was making music like her and thats why folks go up for Janet back then and still do. Its giving influential.
If she didn't have the vocal talent. Why is she nominated 10x for her vocal performance?
I would say even if she isn’t a powerhouse vocalist , she knows how to work what she has. Her harmonies and vocal control are top-notch.

I love & respect this woman so much. I have always been a lover of the arts, mainly singing & dancing since I was in diapers (Literally). So the first chorography I learned was 'IF' (the breakdown) at the age of three. Janet was always my inspiration & made me love dancing so much. But this choreography right here is THE most intricate & difficult dancing I've ever seen. I'm still learning it till this day & I haven't scratched the surface!, Lol. I really hope she recieves the admiration she deserves because we wouldn't have Doja, Normani, Beyonce, Ciara, SZA, Clohe x Hallie, Rihanna, Aaliyah, Mya or Teonna Taylor without this magnificent woman right here... MJ said in his home movie video that Janet had seen his military style dancing in Captain EO and she asked him if she could steal the style for her upcoming video. He wanted to use the style for his next video, but let Janet do that dance style instead. The routine itself was not for Mike. Anthony Thomas was the choreographer and was actually discovered by Janet.
This was not for MJ 😭😂 but MJ did love the song and choreography.
