It's true only because you're an YG stan. As much as i know, SM & JYP artists has longetivity than YG artists. SM produced Shinhwa, TVXQ, Super Junior who are still active in the industry, and having a cb every year. JYP produced Sunmi, Hyuna, 2pm, Baek Yerin who are also still active in the industry. Bigbang is one of the most succesful YG produced group and they didn't have this much longetivity, they focused solely on fashion after 10 years of being an idol. CL, Park Bom, Minzy used to release solo, but their solos are not that successful compared to Sunmi or Taeyeon.
YG don't limit things as idols. They trained their idols as artists which we can clearly see from their trainees and artists. Nomatter whatever it is the expectation I have for YG is huge interms of their talent and skills. All YG idols leading by Bigbang till Treasure are also a very good painters. I've seen how YG idols are so interest in art and many of them leading by GD and Top had art exhibition and even Winner. I bet other idols from different company and Korea will start taking interest in art as it's huge popular among YG artists. In future you will also see Treasure Asahi and Yoshi doing art exhibiton. Ofcours I won't forget Blackpink Lisa and Treasure Asahi a very great photographer and been showing their skills. Not forgetting the fashion ambassador. Bigbang gave interest in fashion world and became the ambassador of luxurious brands. All the YG idols are always seen in fashion world. Right now we can see Blackpink and Mino following the footstep of Bigbang but listen suddenly every companies start giving interest in fashion world once Bigbang started
You explained every YG stans mind perfectly! Tbh, when these new kpoopers compare big3/4 and always rank YG last I see it kinda funny because in the 1st place YG was never at their level. They clearly produce idols, look for idol quality, but YG was looking for an artist and they support them as that. Idc what these fans say but JYP, SM, and Hybe could never support their idols if they will try to venture on other things except being an idol/actor/MC because that's what they signed for. YG cannot get revenue from GD's peaceminusone and cafe, from Mino's cafe and paintings, Yoon's photographs, from Blackpink, Akmu, and Ikon personal vlogs, and etc but they let them anyway. They don't see them as money makers, which is why when a YGA leave they are the proudest like a mama bird seeing her baby leave her nest.
@@rinnay.5515 but they stilll leave YG. Bigbang made YG, before Bigbang, YG wasn't this big but still Bigbang leave this year. SM still had their first generation idols. YG artists has freedom, and they also has the most scandalous idols out there comparing to the other top 4 companies. The oldest YG artists now is Ikon, and i believe they will leaves after their contract is over. They can't keep their artists, if they enjoy those freedom, fame & money they won't leave but they do. I would rank YG last for thr Big3 too. I don't count Hybe as Big4, they are just on top4. Their story only begans around 2016, they didn't have much history, so i can't say legacy about this agency. Many fans stated YG gave their artists freedom, they let them produce songs, so on & so forth. Then, if the artists can produce their own songs, why did they have a cb only once a year? Bigbang may started the fashion trend, but do you know SM started modern Kpop? There are always trendsetter in Kpop, which are mostly SM, YG & JYP and all the others just followed. You're talking about YG artists being interested in art while SM artists are also MC-ing, being in a creative team in SM, and not only that Shindong even directed mv of group outside SM. JYP created many idol turned actors, you can't say the same to YG otherwise. Every agency is different, they have their own strong and weak points.
i remember jyp’s lecture to stray kids on their pre-debut reality show about putting everything on the line for your dream and what y’all said about jyp’s trainee culture confirmed that!
Interesting discussion 👍 Also the white subtitle is a bit difficult to read with the white background, yellow is usually better on white or add a black shadow/border around the subs.
Not surprising if they are strict with keeping things secret, especially for trainees. If you were around when BIGBANG wasn't yet BIGBANG. Some already knew they were trainees. Their social accounts on Cyworld were stalked. And we all know that sometimes you can't control what kids say on their socials. Remember what happened to Jay Park? It's better to protect the trainees from any negativity outside of the company. Any management wouldn't want their trainee to lose an opportunity over a mistake that Koreans like to blow up into a national issue. 🙄
YG is so good at training their idols. They do pop songs every monthly evaluation and training system became more competitive and tight. That's why whenever YG artists debut they are successful and talented. Can't wait for YG new girl group.
I think that the thing they’re tryna emphasize on 11:26 is the “Wow-factor” thing, a vibe that every trainee should have and be shown off as a first-impression to the judges. A “pick me” vibe in the point of views of the trainee themselves. That’s a vibe that a staff or a company-head must see on you, beforehand. Does it makes sense? Ofc, it is. Being a trainee is not just for pure-talent but from the personality to their work ethic to their ability to handle pressure. Been there, done that.
yoyo basically, it is that “someone” who got you the first time you saw them(even without doing anything), it’s a feeling someone cannot explain either, they just got that vibe and “wow factor”(as what is stated above) that caches everyones’ attention. Maybe if it’s a personal matter, I can compare this to when you meet a stranger then unexpectedly booom, you just click, became bestfriend or even family. Does this make sense at all? Lmao, I sometimes don’t get myself too, so, sorry🤧
I think it’s a combination of things, but mostly someone who’s passionate to be an entertainer and has uniqueness that can be seen even when they are nervous.
Really love the fact that your vids are always straight to the point and informative. I've seen other vids that are full of frills and have no substance 😅 like, they beat around the bush too much to the point where i dont even know ehat they're talking about anymore.
It’s already a big feat entering YGE, think about how Rosé had to beat 700 people in the audition. Plus, the training years are long (mostly in YGE) and every month you have like ~7 evaluations to do. It’s no wonders that YGE’s trainees are sought after and so talented. Even the ex trainees got main positions in their respective groups. (Almost all YGTB ex trainees have debuted). All YGE’s artists have been highly recognized for their lives and performances, all their songs are hits, they’re fashionistas and people of art, also always in the list of richest idols (differently from other companies, YG doesn’t ask the trainees to pay them back after their debut also the % contract is truly good for the idol - first 7 years there’s a 40-60% and the renowned it’s 30-70%). Honestly, among all agencies if you say you’re from YGE it hits differently, the talent you expect from them is so high. Just think about the reaction during p101 or the likes. Ps I like the “secretive” concept of YGE cuz the expectations become higher.
This was enlightening, and should be mandatory watching for trainee hopefuls. The road to idolhood is such a long and lonely one. When you said you opened the door, saw Sol Lee seonsaengnim, and just started bawling T___T The constant scrutiny, being in never-ending competition with other trainees, the inability to confide in anyone associated with the company. That must all take its toll. I am glad Sol Lee seonsaengnim was there for you. A request - would it be possible to put the white text in a box? It disappears into the light-colored curtains to the left of the screen.
As a long time YGA fan, I knew most of the things mentioned in the vid already. I was expecting to learn more but instead learned more about JYP. Nonetheless, nice content! more fans should know YG is actually a decent company in comparison to many other companies, their contracts after debut and after renewing have not changed for years and artists get good %. Also, they are not hungry over cb every few months to give the company more $. Proper and all round training are provided to trainees so they are prepared to be independent artists
I know that YG is secretive, especially for training processes and all but the amount of YG crumbs in this video is too little. It felt like I learned more about JYP than the title itself tbh. It must've been named as JYP and YG experience or training experience/process.
I loved this collab! was very fun watching you both talk. even though i’m not auditioning for anywhere your audition tips are still interesting to watch!
YG really has an eye for gems. I remember watching mixnine, he really handpicked the contestants and theyre really good thats why every elimination is just painful.
Hi Gina, it is a bit hard to read some of the white subtitles. Maybe because of the lighting in the video, some of the white text appears to have faded into the background??
The scariest thing about YGE is that despite the trainees being good on rapping, singing or dancing they won't hesitate to let them go if they know that the trainee don't fit on the group. I mean look at all the trainees who left YG all great singers, rappers and dancers. I want to name a few but there is a long list. YGE invest $100k on their trainees but they won't hesitate to let them go if they need to. Also I feel that YG is still involved on creating new GG behind the scene. And the way this 2 ladies describe trainees in JYP makes me wonder does he still also do it to his debut artist? I mean look at Mina and Jungyeon they both suffer in panic and anxiety 🥺
Just be patient and wait for them to debut😊 Dont worry about their vocals. You know YG is really strict so why would they debut a gg without great vocal.😅 Trust...
I really find it fascinating when they talk about the differences between the big 3 trainees/artists. All 3 have really mastered a system that works for them because they produce artists that have that signature *company name* style. We see it as fans but it’s interesting to hear it from someone who experienced it first hand.
Such a good vid and also I would like it if you talk about the nationalities that big companies accept other than just east asians and if there has been any trainees from west Asia or Middle East thx

With this standard of training in JYP, but why Twice got criticized a lot about their 'live' singing ability? Just wondering. And YG.. So some videos about their training, duh... I will get kicked since day first, lol.
In short its producers fault for not making a song design for their artist. Its diff. From Teddy. He was a long line of offers even from abroad but he declined it all. According to him, he choose his artists that fits his songs. He make songs FOR the artists not for the sake of just making one.

I'm a blink, and that must've been your opinion. But in my case, AKMU Lee Suhyun is the best singer in YG, if not then one the best best singers in the label. She didn't really have to train for years with her vocals, and that she has control, fresh, and supported vocals. I know all of them are good in their own ways, but AKMU is definitely the vocal house of YGE. I recommend them as well.
Can you talk about the differences between training under the big four vs under a mid-sized company? (like Pledis, Starship, Jellyfish etc) And if you can tell if someone trained under a mid-sized company vs a very small company?

I think I learned more about JYP here than YG but enjoyed the talk nonetheless. I was looking forward to hear about the distinctions of trainees in specific companies & other info but the guest was talked over a couple of times. This is a good series though!!
What are some of the genres you'd say are good to include to prepare? Ballad, rap, upbeat and slow songs - any other styles or genre would you recommend to prepare?

I'd really want to know why YG doesn't focus on getting the trainees' vocals better (than average). Why their technique doesn't get better (or is perceptible to get better)? My utt group is blackpink and I know they're not like SM vocalists and I know they can do better, there are a lot of professionals saying they could be better and they're underdeveloped. I'd really love to know why.
Well ... that's your opinion....I think the girls are well already... except I get worried of Rosé's technique while singing few songs, she can sing those songs beautiful but ...just have to be careful like it might damage her vocal chords overtime. And also YG trains their artists to be live performers mostly but during training period they focus the trainees individually with different aspects and they literally love unique voices. Let's not forget abt Lee Su-hyun, Daesung, Yedam, Seungyoon, .......etc....all have infact unique crackhead character, voice and personality in YG🤣😆
yg training systems is very strict tho.. one mistake or lack of talents, you might get send back home immediately unless ysh call you back to gave 2nd chance...
Can you make a video about the fan service/skin ship/shipping notions in kpop? From what I’ve read, Korea is not accepting of lgbtq people, yet it seems like the companies want girls within their own groups to be very touchy and hint at homosexuality and the fans ship them together. Also, without outing anyone, are there actually lesbian relationships within groups? Then I know there are dating bans, but the public ship make idols and female idols together, yet if they are actually dating s, people say a lot of hateful things online. It would be really interesting to learn more about this. Thanks!
Fans mostly ship certain members in group is just for fun, not that they apporove lgbt even some of them want it they become real couple but not many fans support it.. They just shipping members in certain group as couple for their friendship and close bond between the certain members itself.. Same as this girl idols and boy idols that got ship, the fans just ship them just for fun and for their own desired but when the idols is really dating, some fans not like it because they find its irritating for the idols carrier
YGE is very strict in their trainees and never gave compliment free, if you wanted to survive and wanted a compliment you have to work hardest and have to be emotionally stable, because YGE knows the outside world is harsher, if you put out something that you can keep-up with, people will eat you alive and your whole career could be crumbling down..

Someone form YG, this is what I’ve been waiting all along😭 Big TY for both of you for giving us more insight than what a normal vlogger(k-pop) give.
I want to know more about yg tho 😅 let her talk more
For real, cause I was waiting for her guest to talk about YG and the trainees more but she talked more of JYP experience instead of YG 🤧
@@maritesramos996 fr🤣🤣
Woww after knowing this.. super proud of Yg
i remember jyp’s lecture to stray kids on their pre-debut reality show about putting everything on the line for your dream and what y’all said about jyp’s trainee culture confirmed that!
Interesting discussion 👍
Also the white subtitle is a bit difficult to read with the white background, yellow is usually better on white or add a black shadow/border around the subs.
Same
Not surprising if they are strict with keeping things secret, especially for trainees.
They can be really good, really pretty, nothing to pick on, and still get cut... and it makes sense. S H O O K
I enjoyed the conversation that good for young people who wants to pursue their dream in the music industry. Thank you for sharing it to us👍🤝🙏
I think that the thing they’re tryna emphasize on 11:26 is the “Wow-factor” thing, a vibe that every trainee should have and be shown off as a first-impression to the judges.
Would you mind explaining further more about that vibe you are saying?
@@yoyo-wx7qx stan attractor. Someone whose vine is likeable.
yoyo basically, it is that “someone” who got you the first time you saw them(even without doing anything), it’s a feeling someone cannot explain either, they just got that vibe and “wow factor”(as what is stated above) that caches everyones’ attention.
@@yoyo-wx7qx what people call the IT factor. Super charming in different ways. The one who just catches your eye really quick and stays on your mind.
Really love the fact that your vids are always straight to the point and informative. I've seen other vids that are full of frills and have no substance 😅 like, they beat around the bush too much to the point where i dont even know ehat they're talking about anymore.
Thats why YG is really different and the beat than other company their artist is different not just a common idol that other company produce
I start watching you randomly & got addicted 😭😭😭
You are so unique & wonderful person. 💖💖
Gina you're so beautiful 💜 somehow for me you look like Dian Sastro, an Indonesian actress
It was useful tips, any tips for online audition for the global talents😀
This was enlightening, and should be mandatory watching for trainee hopefuls.
The road to idolhood is such a long and lonely one.
When you said you opened the door, saw Sol Lee seonsaengnim, and just started bawling T___T
The constant scrutiny, being in never-ending competition with other trainees, the inability to confide in anyone associated with the company.
That must all take its toll.
I am glad Sol Lee seonsaengnim was there for you.
A request - would it be possible to put the white text in a box?
It disappears into the light-colored curtains to the left of the screen.
Will be corrected for part 2 vid 😊

thank you for this wonderful interview!
U r looking so beautiful gina
Lots of love ❤❤
Thank u for this
As a long time YGA fan, I knew most of the things mentioned in the vid already.
This is such a good video.
And can't most trainers be like her 🥲
I know that YG is secretive, especially for training processes and all but the amount of YG crumbs in this video is too little. It felt like I learned more about JYP than the title itself tbh. It must've been named as JYP and YG experience or training experience/process.
So insightful! I like that the subs are colorcoded for each person, its easy to follow.
The video was so good I watched it twice! hope u collab more, even if just talking about past experiences. The tips realistic as always kkkk
It was such a good watch, I didn't even notice 20 minutes waa done haha. Also the JYP thing is just soooo accurate!
I loved this collab! was very fun watching you both talk. even though i’m not auditioning for anywhere your audition tips are still interesting to watch!
Hello sunshines ☀️
YG really has an eye for gems. I remember watching mixnine, he really handpicked the contestants and theyre really good thats why every elimination is just painful.
This shows that vocal trainers are the best from dancers and rappers
Hi Gina, it is a bit hard to read some of the white subtitles. Maybe because of the lighting in the video, some of the white text appears to have faded into the background??
Will be corrected in the part 2 vid thanks for letting me know :)
Timing of subtitles were a bit hard to understand as well
I have to agree with everything that was mentioned.
YG is something else💛
You are awezome gina💜💜
thanks for the video gina! next time do you mind making the other captions in a diff color than white?
Can we know if you taught the upcoming yg's new girl group too?
Edit: kept is short.
Just be patient and wait for them to debut😊
Dont worry about their vocals. You know YG is really strict so why would they debut a gg without great vocal.😅

She doesn't know, because she is former YG trainer. Even if she know, she can't tell you about that.

I really find it fascinating when they talk about the differences between the big 3 trainees/artists. All 3 have really mastered a system that works for them because they produce artists that have that signature *company name* style. We see it as fans but it’s interesting to hear it from someone who experienced it first hand.
Such a good vid and also I would like it if you talk about the nationalities that big companies accept other than just east asians and if there has been any trainees from west Asia or Middle East thx
i like the the vocal trainer's watch band. Dunno if it means anything to her but if it did, i hope it's to say "Happy Pride 🏳️🌈 month!"
Hello SISTER gina 🙏🏻 , could you give some tips about how to have confident like an idol k-pop and how to make facial expression to impress the judges, thank you 🙏🏻😊

With this standard of training in JYP, but why Twice got criticized a lot about their 'live' singing ability? Just wondering.
And YG.. So some videos about their training, duh... I will get kicked since day first, lol.
Not a fan of twice, but I think bcs their songs are too high pitched. They're not on twice's members range so they find it difficult to sing
In short its producers fault for not making a song design for their artist. Its diff. From Teddy. He was a long line of offers even from abroad but he declined it all. According to him, he choose his artists that fits his songs. He make songs FOR the artists not for the sake of just making one.
8:34 suddenly i remember what jisoo’s said at radio star
what did she say?
Yeah true.. I suddenly remember what jisoo said.
@@sentikalalongkumer2457 she said when she was trainee sm manager once approached her during yg fam concert, and she only said she is already a trainee without sayin the company is because it’s rule in yg

i wonder if she teached any of bp members, i think rosé must have been the best singer in YG ever
In GG?There are so many good singers in YG.Maybe u r just a BP stan..I have been into Kpop for since the beginning and I am a hardcore VIP..but aside from BB, there are so many good singers in YG, not only Rose. But Rose is really good too..YG only.😊👍👌
I'm a blink, and that must've been your opinion.
😍
This is going to be a series, right? I hope it is coz like it
I have a question! Do KPOP entertainment companies really check email/dm auditions? or is just for publicity? 🤔
does Gina teach voice too? i love your contents

Can you talk about the differences between training under the big four vs under a mid-sized company? (like Pledis, Starship, Jellyfish etc) And if you can tell if someone trained under a mid-sized company vs a very small company?
11:14 "you can be really good, really pretty, nothing to pick on but can still get cut and it makes sense." i really want someone to articulate exactly what this elusive star power is. i see it in nct taeyong and mark (i watch nct content the most out of kpop), but i can't put a finger on exactly what it is that makes them stand out from other male idols.
Topic is so interesting. Now i want to know who is the off key. And the one who remembered
I think I learned more about JYP here than YG but enjoyed the talk nonetheless. I was looking forward to hear about the distinctions of trainees in specific companies & other info but the guest was talked over a couple of times. This is a good series though!!
i think because she cannot share “much”...as she said YG is sooo secretive
Yup i was wasiting for more details on yg but jyp infos were kept on being mentioned. Still it’s a good content
hahaha came for Yg but it was so short on it
TAKE NOTE OF 11:40. TRUTH!
What are some of the genres you'd say are good to include to prepare? Ballad, rap, upbeat and slow songs - any other styles or genre would you recommend to prepare?
YG THE BEST
i wonder if the ex-jyp trainee that moved to yg is cl 🤔
DK Ikon used to be in JYP then go to YG. For Cl I can't remember, but I think she is.
Cl moved YG because she is fan of teddy.

Let's not forget abt Lee Su-hyun, Daesung, Yedam, Seungyoon, .......etc....all have infact unique crackhead character, voice and personality in YG🤣😆
this conversation is good. But the subtitles really bothered me 😩
🔆🔆🔆
Can you talk about what kind of songs to sing in online and offline auditions ?
Sometimes it so hard to read the text because of white background and white text
yg training systems is very strict tho.. one mistake or lack of talents, you might get send back home immediately unless ysh call you back to gave 2nd chance...
now I get it why some kpop artists from other companies are struggling mentally, they were trained to care about people's opinion...
I know this is off topic but
Can you make a video about the fan service/skin ship/shipping notions in kpop?
Can you plzz ask that do yg trainees need to pay for the flight tickets plzzzzz

YGE is very strict in their trainees and never gave compliment free, if you wanted to survive and wanted a compliment you have to work hardest and have to be emotionally stable, because YGE knows the outside world is harsher, if you put out something that you can keep-up with, people will eat you alive and your whole career could be crumbling down..
