  • Tucker from MACkiteboarding.com reviews the 2024 Duotone Slick Wing, emphasizing its consistent performance in wing foiling. He highlights the Duotone Slick as a versatile choice suitable for both beginners and professionals due to its ease of use, smooth handling, and speed. The 2024 model retains these admired features, with few changes enhancing its on-water experience.
    Key improvements include a stiffer surf handle and a refined valve system, although the valve adapter is not included. The introduction of the Mini Boom-available in carbon fiber and aluminum options-offers adjustable harness line positions, enhancing control and versatility. The wing's structure allows for compact packing, advantageous for travelers. Tucker appreciates the continued use of the robust MOD3 canopy material and introduces a new color scheme under "Concept Blue," focusing on environmental sustainability by eliminating dyes.
    The 2024 Duotone Slick Wing is praised for its improved aerodynamics and stability, making it a top choice for wing foiling enthusiasts.

    Thanks Tucker. Glad to hear the surf handle is a bit stiffer. My SLS Slicks have done a great job for the last 2 seasons, but I figured it was time to splurge on a DLab quiver from MACkiteboarding ( always great service and pricing). I watched Alan Cadiz ride the 2024 DLab Slick in his latest instructional video and I can just tell it’s going to be a special wing.
    I’ve been riding Dutone boom wings since Sept 2019 ( pre-Echo).

      Yes, the new Slick is next level and the D/lab is even better! -Tucker

    I think the speedy forward driving style of the Slick is going to match up well with speedy skinny boards and fast glidy foils.

      Absolutely. They complement each other perfectly. -Tucker

    Im looking for a 6m light wind wing and I wonder if the slick dlab allula 2023 offer more than the new 2024 normal slick ?

      They have similar low end but the D/lab will have a little more top end range. -Tucker

    Thank you for this. I'm putting gear together to be a beginner after a long career kite foiling and windsurfing. I'm 148 pounds and found a 2023 second hand 4m Unit. Would I be best on a 5 or 5.5 Slick for a light wind day? Our lightest days I'd attempt are 14-16 mph

    Hi guys - I have 2 slicks from 2021 5,5m and 6,5m. Now I think to buy new DLab slick 6,0m do you this it is wise decision ? I am not afraid of its low end but worried about how this wing behave in gusty wind when overpowered. Can you advise ?

    @Tucker I have a 2023 6.5 Slick and I'd like to get another Slick for higher wind ranges. I'm 200 lbs. Should I get the 5.0 or the 5.5 give what you said about the wing being less grunty?

    • @MACkiteboarding
      @MACkiteboarding  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'd say the 5.0 would offer you the best range without much overlap. The 5.5m isn't a bad option if you want a smooth gradient of power delivery through the whole range of wind.

    Great review as always! I ride a 4.5 ensis score. What size slick would you recommend to replace it? Would a 5m be a good choice?

      Yes, I'd size up a half meter. The Slick has plenty of high end range. -Tucker
