    I have the Vevor 3/4 x 100 auto feed. This thing is a beast! I got this one because we have tree's all over our neighborhood. So, we have problems with roots growing into the pipes. The 3/4 inch cable rips the roots apart and cleans the main drain with ease. Do not use the 3/8, 1/2, or the 5/8 cable for roots or a thick blockage in your main drain! The cables are not rated or are strong enough for that. I rented one from the depot and OMG! The cable twisted and kinked like rubber. The smaller sizes are great for your sinks, toilets, showers, and laundry drains. I paid like $600.00 on Amazon and I've made my money back 10 fold. If anyone has problems with roots, get the 3/4 cable machine.

      Thanks for the info. I was looking at that very model. He replaced the bolts on his, are the original really that bad? Btw, I was looking to buy from their website and they want $700 there... so you saved me $100:) I will use the extra money to buy some of those ugly gloves. Oh, also, thanks for the info on the roots. That is my issue...fine roots at the city end. Their website seems hesitant to say the machine will work on roots... but I couldn't figure out why a 3/4" cable wouldn't be able to handle it. Sounds like it can and they just are doing CYA.

      @@101perspective That is awesome!! I'm very happy you saved a couple of $$$! Now about the bolts. NO, the original ones are not bad. When you have the smaller cables, and you are using it for heavy roots or obstructions, yes, the bolts will give out after a while. As for the roots, you should have NO problem clearing them out. I do my house and close friends and family twice a year and so far, no problems. Good luck and enjoy lol!

      I have this machine and the reverse doesn’t bring the cable back into the machine. I had to end up pulling the cable all the way out of the machine and unfortunately I forgot which way it rotated into the drum. Could you please tell me if the cable rotates clockwise or counter clockwise as it returns back into the drum.

      @@aaronsalvesen4553 I had the same issue. I ended up just returning it and getting my money back.
      While I have it no longer, I know the drum would be spinning the same direction on return as it does on way out... the direction the arrow points. And the cable ultimately is connected to the drum. So, it should wrap the same direction as the arrow. However, from your perspective, as it feeds in (with the drum stopped) it would probably look like it is wrapping around the opposite direction... if that makes any sense.
      Btw, I'm curious what size cable you got. I got the 3/4" one. I think that was the real issue with the machine. It didn't seem designed to handle cable that thick and heavy. I think I spent like 3 hours working with the thing and never got it to come out more than 9 feet. I finally just got it all back inside and did a return.

    Nice video
    I used to use a Rigid drain cleaner with 1" cable
    After a use , pull the cable out and dry and spray oil on it
    OIL the cable every time you use it and spray oil again on the cable a few days later
    I had a spray bottle with 50/50 diesel fuel and motor oil

    I have the Harbor Freight one. This Vevor looks exactly the same, only difference is the drum color. The foot switch failed, easy change though. These can definitely pay for themselves quickly. It costs about $75 to rent at the Depot for only 2hrs.

      Vevor and HF hydrostar machines looks the same, but cable is different. HF hydrostar cable is more flexible and wind of the cable is in opposite direction from vevor. But you can use either cable in either machine. Vevor cable is less expensive and come in lengths up to 100 foot and 3/8 inch and 1/2 inch where as HF hydrostar cable only comes in 50 foot and 1/2 inch.

    Oh also depending on how large the spot to bolt on the cutter
    A section of 3/4" or 1" black poly water line ( Golden Jet ) or 1 1/8" gas line
    It will work well to guide the cable into a clean out
    As sometimes you will want to limit the amount of crud that the cable flings

    How do you get the belt back on the drum? I have the Harbor freight one and there's no tension adjust.

    I'm looking at getting one of these. However, I probably will only use it a couple times a year at most. Are there any maintenance issues I need to worry about if I just leave it sitting for 6 to 12 months at a time? Also, when I had a plumber do this I could smell oil on the machine... do you need to oil the cable or something to keep it from rusting? I'm thinking of buying the $600 version so want to make sure I take good care of it. OH, lastly, when relatives ask to borrow it on average how many cans of beer can I expect to get in exchange? lol

    How do you fix the cable if it binds itself in the drum??..I just bought one like this one. I’d try forwarding out the cable and notice it wasnt going forward no more. Turns out the cable bind it self in the drum and now it won’t go forward no more.

      I have the same problem; the snake binds at about 40' eventhough there are no obstructions in the pipes. To reposition the snake, remove the bolt in the back, pull the snake out, reconnect & rewind: quite troublesome - a design defect.

      Honestly, I used to clean out sewer drains for a living with a spartan drain snake, and this machine is by far the biggest piece of crap that I’ve ever encountered and the customer service is deplorable and I am sending mine back

    How tight those the tensioner need to be? He wasn't very clear about that.

    • @aaronsalvesen4553
      @aaronsalvesen4553 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Tight enough to make the cable move in and out. Unfortunately mine doesn’t work in reverse only forward by the way, do you happen to know which way the cable spools back in when it goes back into the machine?

    How do you get all the skange off? Just hose her down with gallons of disinfectant?

    • @101perspective
      @101perspective 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Plumbers usually will have you turn the water on in the sinks in the house as they retrieve the cable so there is a flow going down the pipes, cleaning off the cable. If you are pulling a toilet to get access you can also use that small hose that normally connects to the toilet to spray the cable down as it come up. Sorry for the lateness but maybe someone else will benefit.

    I am serious thinking about purchasing this machine but, I cannot find where to buy a replacement belt for the drum. Vevor does not sell them and could not tell me where to purchase one.

      Don’t do it just buy a General brand sewer cable machine and finance it at $89 a month for the rest of your life or whatever it’s gonna take to pay off the $4000 cost for that machine because it’s worth spending the money versus the headache I have received from this machine and zero customer support!

    The only negative thing about these cheaper drain machines is that the drum spins opposite in “forward” compared to name brand machines.

    • @springer-qb4dv
      @springer-qb4dv 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depends on the wind of the snake cable you are using. So you can just get a cable wound in conventional direction replace original cable and spin the drum in CCW as "forward" instead of CW.

    • @tannerwest6823
      @tannerwest6823 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@springer-qb4dv yea that is true. I’ve just never understood why the Chinese machines have always made the forward direction spin clockwise instead of counter clockwise

    • @aaronsalvesen4553
      @aaronsalvesen4553 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So if one were to pull the cable entirely out of the drum which way would the cable have to be fed back into the machine, looking at the machine from the front while feeding the cable in, would you have to start wrapping the cable in clockwise or counter clockwise? I’m not talking about the rotation of the drum I’m only talking about how should the cable start feeding back into the drum?
