    Re-installing the V-Belt after it slips off:
    1. My model was probably purchased 2018, so I am guessing the new ones are different
    2. Tilt motor down, insert V-built into pully and push on to drum
    a) How do you tilt motor down?
    - Loosen the 4 bolts that hold the motor down to a horizontal plate
    - 1/2 inch socket wrench
    - I used some C-clamps to make putting the bolts back in easier
    3. I read somewhere there are springs so you can tilt down the motor, but mine does not have these springs.

    We bought 2 9001 and 9002 models! One you feed by hand the other is self feeding! Because i am a disabled military veteran we bought the self feeding one, only problem is it never would feed or retract!! Paid over 400.00 and when we called the company to ask to talk to a technician!! I was told i needed to go back into my basement and film my cable not working, refused to allow me to talk to anyone! And i build Custom Harley Davidson Motorcycles when my health allows it! But lately thats not been happening! Point is i generally can figure it out with a little direction, but again even after explaining my condition, no family lives near me, they still insisted that i do it all by myself! Needless to say its brand new 6 months old and refused to be helped, what a wonderful world of Customer service we live in! In fact i can't honestly think of ANY customer service department that are American speaking, who understands me, or me understanding them!

    How do you get the cable untangle inside the drum

    • @gsrjaycee4521

      That's the same issue I had since when I was retrieving the wire I didn't spin in to retrieve it

      I ended up drilling out the 6 tack welds that hold the drum together to untangle (mark/index drum half’s to get in same orientation upon assembly).
      I cleaned up the edges of the drum mating surfaces to facilitate assembly.
      Then I assembled halves & used screws with washers to clamp back together.
      I tack welded the washers to the edge of the inner drum half in order to use the holes drilled to remove tack welds but you could just drill new holes in the center of the two half’s mating edge.
      I dissemble half’s & re-welded washers as needed.
      Cleaned mating surfaces & applied plenty of antiseze grease to help protect from corrosion.
      I used a cut off tool to remove excess screw lengths so now only need to worry about coming into contact with the nuts on the spinning drum. (Will eventually apply silicone or other to minimize danger).
      Also I cut a groove on the screws so they can be held from the outside while removing.

    the one hard part is getting the drivebelt back on and you just skipped it after a failed attempt. Any tips on how you got it back on?

      With belts I’ve found it’s easiest to get it lined up the best you can and then spin something it’s on till it slides on. Not a professional with them by any means. Just what’s worked for me in the past.

    Please post a video showing how you got the belt back on the drum. You cut that part out of this video. There's no tension adjust on this machine. Thank you.

      You literally just push the motor downwards. It moves about an half inch down which allows you to slip the belt on the pulley.

    Step one, throw the trash cable that machine comes with away and buy a spartan cable that will not tangle up on you like that. Or order one from drain cables direct. Little cheaper but just as good quality.
    I've been doing this for a decade, and before I figured out it's all about the cable, I spent a lot of time disassembling machines and putting them back together. Very time consuming and inconvenient to have to do on a job. I've put a spartan cable in this exact machine to use while my expensive one was in the shop. It's honestly a great machine, but the cable it comes with is so trash, I can not emphasize this enough.
    Also, that machine is meant for sink lines that are 1½ to 2 inches, not your main 3 inch line you used it for. You're most likely not completely clearing the block, and it will likely back up again.

    Is there a way to attach another 50ft cable and will it fit inside the drum with the 50ft cable that is already in there? Trying to unclog the main sewage line and need to go out 65ft.

      Yes others have attached another 50ft section inside successfully

    I used mine one time and the cable stopped retracting. In trying to fix the drive belt popped off and there's no tension adjust to give slack to put back on. Please post a video on demonstrating how to get that belt back on the drum as it doesn't seem possible by hand. I know it is or this video wouldn't have been posted but it's not readily apparent. I would have liked to get more than one use out of this piece of equipment. Thank you.

    Any suggestions?

    Don't put your hand on the end of cable with it running or you can lose fingers.

      Not losing fingers with that size of machine. It's also necessary for proper operation of the machine to hold the cable with both hands while quickly operating the feederhead at the same time.

      @blackwater8593 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes I put a 75ft spartan cable in it. It turned it from a piece of shit to a very useful machine.

    • @blackwater8593
      @blackwater8593 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You will have to buy the anchor that comes with spartan machines that holds the cable in. Then you only have to drill one extra hole on the back of the harbor freight machines drum.
