I think it's because the girl took responsibility for her mistakes. Why beat her up more if she's already feeling guilty? What kind of person kicks another who's already down? The defendant was remorseful and is in therapy to correct her behavior. That's why the Judge didn't come down on her so hard, like i've seen her do with other women.
