Enjoy the R8 and congrats. Cool message too. I just picked up a C7 Z06 and yes you have to do it because you truly enjoy cars not because you’re trying to fill a void for attention.
Thanks congrats on the C7 my buddy just got one it’s a great car. If I wasn’t buying the car for the wrong reasons that’s the car I would’ve went with lol
I think ppl are mistaken in the comments. Its not about insufficient external validation from others, more so its that a material item can never fill that 'void' inside. Eventually the excitement, fulfillment and novelty from possessing these 'things' wears off. I remember a lyric from one of Kendrick Lamar's older songs that always stuck 'a louis belt will never ease that pain'
the comments here makes me think some people totally missed the message. thank you for the words of wisdom. like most lessons in life, i already knew what the answer would be but i needed to hear it from someone else who had already made the purchase. really good video - i really needed to hear this message now
I’ve been thinking of getting another sports car for years. Even stepping up to a supercar, but realizing my life won’t change in a meaningful way made me rethink my choices.
Video should be titled “50 year old goes on rant about how his first generation r8 didn’t actually make him happy because enough people didn’t validate him”
Interesting take! Just to clarify, I’m not 50-I’m 46. Ouch. 😅 The video isn’t really about the car, though-it’s about how chasing external validation (whether through an R8 or anything else) doesn’t lead to lasting happiness. But hey, if this got you thinking, then mission accomplished. Appreciate it and thanks for watching.
Oh it’s not? What defines a supercar? Also the point of the video was that nothing out there is going to solve what is going inside. Whether it’s an R8 or a Lamborghini
@ The R8 is a sports car. A supercar would be, historically speaking cars with low production numbers and long waitlists, that have 700-1000 hp, and 0-60 in around 3 seconds. Even though the R8 performs amazing and is in that range (and is awesome), its production numbers, price, and availability make it a sports car.
I needed the car to prove I was good enough. That means I didn’t think I was and that began somewhere in my life. I just had to find where that pain was and allow myself to feel it. Now I can still buy cool shit if I want but I don’t need it to feel worthy.

Yup you got it! Nothing wrong with buying a super car but it won't solve for why you needed it in the first place. Thanks for watching

thanks for watching. The message finds who it is suppose to find.
can relate, been through many cars. but eventually it gets empty.
A car is only a means from point A to B.
Wear a Mic on the next video and your views will 5x

So what are you searching for??? What will fill the void?
