Love your content Stu! I think the biggest challenge for most of us is not having eyes on our swing everyday and trying to manage all the interrelated components of the golf swing. We can focus on one part of the swing as you say, but changing one thing impacts another thing and when we don’t see the ball do what we want our subconscious mind takes over and adds another swing flaw. Additional, the assumption is that everything else is either good or constant. Without a good instructor at our side every time we hit balls we simply don’t know where we are going wrong. All of a sudden the swing thoughts start to pile up and suddenly we are in a death spiral. Most people are impatient and will do whatever it takes to hit the ball somewhat straight regardless of the technique. This is truly why golf is so hard. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Ultimately the golfers watching my content still have to decide what their issues are; this is taken away in a face to face lesson. That said, if I keep painting the picture clear enough I hope to make you all the best golf coaches in the world.
Thanks Stu! You do an incredible job of painting the picture, and I know more about the golf swing now than I ever have. Appreciate all you do for the golfing community and I will continue to strive for improvement with a clear focus on my core issues.
Hey Stuart I totally agree with what you are saying which is why I’m happy to travel a long distance to have a lesson with you in January, I decided to change things in August this year and have spent a fair chunk of the time on grip and backswing so looking forward to see if I’m on the right track. I’ve not had many lessons but I’ve always thought coaches are just putting a plaster on things to give golfers a quick fix without explaining the reasons so finding your has had a positive effect on my journey & which showing positive signs, so keep up the good content & I’ll see you in Jan
Hi Stuart. You have helped me hugely this year and I have had genuine wow moments after each of our lessons. My handicap is now down to 7 from 10 in May and I feel like I am making real progress. I am nearly 10 years older than you and I wish I had had your advice in my 20s! As you say in the video, not everybody will buy into your methods, but please don’t be dissuaded by any negative comments because you really are onto something - no one else teaches it like you and my experience is that it works! Merry Christmas!
Stuart , thankyou for the continuing great content. I'm 8 months in, following your teaching and i have never played better or had more confidence or enjoyed golf as much. Keep it up ! Merry Christmas !
bravo ! continuez !!! je vous suis depuis peu mais vous m'avez plus appris que les nombreux entraineurs que j'ai eu depuis maintenant plus de 30 ans ! amitié
Moi aussi! …. I have been reading golf books for over 40 years and Stuart has taught me more in the last 7 months than I managed to get from all those books.
Stuart. Many Thanks for you sharing your knowledge and I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas. I sometimes wish that you would not be so far away for a personal coaching. It is not easy to practice your instructions on my own. Moreover it is winter here for many months to come. Regards
Unfortunately i regularly play with golfers that have loads of lessons, sad truth is they are still the same hcp! Ive had my best golfing year at 65yo reg shooting around my 5hcp,ive only ever had 2 lessons 15yrs ago and still suffer the consequences, But i have watched Stuarts great videos this year hmmm
.....very interesting hearing your thoughts on coaching. 30 years is a long time, very cool. Just out of curiosity, in those 30 years of teaching golf, did you ever have a "wow" moment that changed your way of coaching/ teaching the swing?.....thanks Stu, Merry Christmas 🎄⛳🍺
Hey Gary, that's an easy one... when I went down to Australia, their approach was breath taking and my catalyst for the next 25 years. Happy Christmas my friend. Stu
Hi Stu … I’m writing this straight after a range session, apologies if this doesn’t make sense in some way ! But I have to rant or I’m gonna go mad ! I’ve been surrounded by guys who I’ve watched get basket after basket spending £20 - £30 on balls .. and I’m not making this up very few if any going further than 100 yards with absolutely no idea what their doing apologises if this makes me sound like I’m making fun of them! I’m honestly not .. Ive had a lesson with you and I’ve spent a lot of months hitting a lot of balls and things are only now really coming together I’m working hard and enjoying it , I guess my point is why are these guys not watching content or seeking some sort of help .. I just stood there watching thinking go on someone say hi mate what you working on there? … sorry for the pointless rant but it’s such a waste their not seeing or hearing about you ( yes I’m biased)
Every good golfer that ever lived can bounce a ball on a wedge! if you cant be bothered at least try to clip the range peg doing continuous 1/2 swings narrow stance with your eyes shut!
I have had 6 lessons/lesson sets/instruction schools, with 6 different coaches, over the past 35 years. My take is that coaches try to fix effects and never address root causes.
Wow, you managed to talk for 10 minutes and say nothing, the only thing you vaguely hinted at is to focus on one part of a dynamic movement which is the bedrock of all terrible PGA coaches, it's a movement, a kinaesthetic action, not one aspect, not one part, that's normal, lazy, PGA rubbish, there's no way the coach should be dictating the session, you're so far off it's painful
