What about on an outer race? Would it hold up to a lot of vibration?

*Don't 'fear' red loctite. It is not permanent like they make it sound.*
We use it successfully on TINY screws in the Gun world, to hold on our sights, through heat cycling.
Just use "red brake cleaner" and it softens red loctite up to where a firm pressure can remove any fastener within an hour or so of soaking.
