    Jimmy feels extremely educated with the subjects he talks about , i think it's very good that a person like him who left the right and managed to understand the current issues without falling into another hole

      He's a bloke who genuinely cared about the things he believed in, took a critical look and was "material analysis"-pilled while doing his own research on a matter he was going to make a video on. That is to say, he might not actually be extremely educated but he seems intellectually honest enough to go and learn before spouting nonsense just to grift. I don't know if he actually has any formal education, my guess is he doesn't, he just cares... which is all the more impressive.

      What’s crazy is how similar his story was to mine politically.
      I mean personally, a lot of different specifics, but the bigger picture of his story was basically the same.
      And I’ve been like a very stable commie for 2-3 years now.
      The thing is I know I could never get brought back.
      Once you realise the game, and you drink the propaganda, and realise it’s propaganda… you can’t unsee it.
      No amount of grievance politics could shift me back to the right.

    Honestly I think this guy would be really good outreach for reactionary people, because not only was he in their shoes but he seems to intuitively know how to frame these issues in a way that right wingers to be receptive to. Sure he’s not a full on socialist, but the state of the world would be a lot better if your average conservative were instead a social democrat.

      @nottherealChickenJoe หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      How you phrased this, is a big part of the problem. He isnt a full on socialist and thats the reason he knows what arguments are good. Most arguments from more left leaning people always include a "I am superior to you because I actually understand this topic and am more educated" with them. I would refuse to listen to that as well haha

    • @01superchunk66
      @01superchunk66 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @nottherealChickenJoe as someone who is left wing, maybe even leaning to the "far left", I never say pr act superior, I have a friend who's far right and he's the one I'd say acts superior and thinks it's me who's uneducated on this stuff. On the occasions I say "you need to look into this more" I say it after letting him talk for ages and I frame it as "you've only read what you want to read, you need to read both sides of the argument". The best e ample j cam give is when he said, full chest, that there had been 1.3 million illegal immigrants (his wording) that came into britian, I asked him where he got that number from, he then linked me a newspaper article that made the claim. So I said "right, you might want to to look into this a bit more, because 1.3 million coming in would be more than 5,000 a day, and given that the record wasn't even 1,000 then that number isn't possible" he did eventually drop that number .... but then rather than admit he was wrong said even 1 coming in was too much.

      @@Novostealswhile I value and appreciate these two guys' discourse in the mainstream online environment, clearly dominated by the alt-right, i'm disappointed that they never cite women and almost never chat to women in their videos. I completely understand a young lad will empathise more with another man, but I will expect more from an adult man, especially a leftist adult man (yes, I do think we are morally superior to the right). So, it's not really a critique, I do like their content, but an invitation to ask themselves some questions.

    • @bairdrew
      @bairdrew หลายเดือนก่อน

      @KatStr4t and it's not particularly useful to be so conceited in your moral superiority that you think addressing the issue of men escaping indoctrination by the alt right - which is as even you admit pretty specifically a problem of men - is less important than appealing to people who are not the target demographic.
      If this was specifically about how the alt right damages and oppresses women I'd agree with you 100%.
      But it isn't.
      Similarly, it is not an unfair critique of Hassan more broadly. But that broadly fair and accurate critique is, to be entirely frank, completely irrelevant to the content and value of the conversation being had.
      It's about a man sharing his experience as he managed to claw his way out of the manosphere.
      Which by necessity, in this instance, requires it be men that do the talking.

      Labor's going down the drain and now they're doing all they can to try get support again. The social media ban is complete BS, like they KNOW it's over for them. I do fear that the Greens lack legitimacy for a lot of Aussies. Like I think if you asked anyone above 40 about them, they'd just think they're gay tree huggers who wanna legalise cannabis. Which like kinda true, but I fear that Labor's flop is just gonna lead to more support for the Liberals. It's kinda analogous to the U.S support for the Republicans. Inflation and cost of living is ridiculous right now, so nobody likes Albo. But I have hope! In this lifetime I can see the Greens winning more Aussies over 🤞But before that happens, I fear Aussies will probs experience someone insane like Dutton as PM 😤

    Regarding Polish migration to UK and why it was common.
    At the beginning of 2000s we had political change from social democratic party to right wing free marketeers who introduced the second wave of the neoliberal reforms and privatization. In mid 2000s unemployment rate in Poland peaked at 20% and minimum wage basically didn't exist. So many of my peers who graduated at that time had a choice: either I do a shitty, low-paid job here in Poland (if I'm lucky finding any), or move abroad to UK or Ireland and still do shitty job, but that at least would allow me to make a descent living. We've lost almost 1 million of young people from that generation due to emigration and that's one of the reasons (of course, among other factors) we're now facing rapidly decreasing birth rates.
    And unfortunately, this neoliberal doctrine "gov shouldn't regulate", "taxes should be low", "private over public" had become the default way of thinking about how to run the country - and I don't see chances that it would change for the better anytime soon.
    Fuck neoliberalism.

There are crazy wild animals where i live in finland and it can get to cold temperatures such as -30 which will kill you if you are outside in it. You will get hypothermia. When moving here we had to help our truck driver who brought our stuff because otherwise he would have died he was so cold and came from poland where they didnt have as cold weather. At 17 minutes when talking g about wanting a change and farage/trump being good at the ground game, that's not entirely true, what they are good at is having the media on their side and platforming them, the best example I can give is the green party on question time, very rarely on, but when they are, they are always cheered by the crowd (that's usually supposed to be right wing). But reform, tories, right wing journalists are on weekly, given platforms to spread their hatred

    My biggest thoughts/take is that (caveat I am a socialist dare I say even a communist) under an improved economic system such as socialism - there still would need to be tandem work to redress inequalities of access based around characteristics ESPECIALLY race - we've seen it before where social initiatives can be inequitable or inaccessible to non-white communities, disabled communities
    Yes universal initiatives can work to do this but it needs to be with minority communities in mind or in consult

      Sure. But Jimmy is absolutely right in his assessment that people like Owen Jones aren't going to appeal to working class British lads. It's the exact same criticism I have of the likes of Novara Media. I like Aaron Bastani and think he has a great understanding and empathy for why working class Brits are attracted to the right, but the rest of the Novara Media folks are the exact opposite of what we need to attract more working class Brits to the left (especially working class lads). People like them and Owen Jones just come across as far to middle-class, out of touch and London-centric.

      Novara Media they messed up by talking down u hear it from them, both persian guy & athiest desi woman admitting they should have spoken about their stories with caution to not talk down in their stories. It took Gaza to shake their Hubris.
      Owen Jones was different, u see it from expanding the stories to not just leftie stuff but asking Religous Muslims about what is it he personally saw, from Green Party adopting a ultra conservative guy to hold specific local seat in UK, to interviewing MUslim channels to break the stories he was not aware from 5pillars & The Thinking Muslim.
      He recognized bigger pictures which got alot muslim like me to open up more to leftie channels more. I lost any respect to leftists news channels by 2016. Huge gaps where i just watched Nopixel binge watched because how demonizing left news outlets were against Religous Muslims. I jut had it with piker, Majority report, tyt, seculartalk, humanist report, Novara Media list goes on
      it was only when Owne Jones, CJ Werleman, All Gas No Brakes with Andrew Callaghan, Jimey Dore, Due Disidence cover stories i started to have renewed faith in Left news on youtube & twitch.
      I dont know what to say, maybe it's time Left news channels start reaching out to specific Social Conservative Muslims because we have overlapping interests. We dont agree in culture wars because we see it from our historical record how we been here in the West, while The Left only thinks as far as 70s(during Col War) our existence as voting block. But anyway, maybe if left viewers started to hear out 5PIllars, The Thinking Muslim, Smile2Junnah, Sapience Institute, start asking us.
      building bridges it helps, i dont know....

    I love how Hasan trashes Destiny, while Destiny is actually pretty based on most issues. Like, you agree on most issues but on a very few niche topic you disagree therefore Destiny is the devil. I don't get it.

      Because the issue he is mouth-foamingly, aggressively wrong about is the genocide of the Palestinian people, which makes him an opp. Hard to do the "let's just agree to disagree" and "keep it civil" with someone who sides with Israel on this issue.

    I ran across Jimmys videos during covid. I liked them. Started watching a bunch. And each video I started noticing things hed say. Until it hit me one video. And read his comments and realized he was definitely not the type of content creator I like to support. So I unsubscribed. Forgot about him. Until I saw Hasan covering that video he did. And was happy to hear he left that pipeline.

    I'm glad to hear Jimmy has pivoted to a leftist ideology. I watched a video of his randomly and thought it was pretty good, so I watched another, it must have been an older one because he had major right wing takes, so I stopped watching. It's good seeing that folks can make those positive changes. Good on you Jimmy.

    Isn't that struggle going to happen regardless? How many permanent communist states have there been? I think without an authoritarian / dictatorship you likely can't avoid some creep to the right (in democracies, people can vote for right wing governments). And even with a dictatorship, they are often overthrown. So the idea that a social democracy is a failure waiting to happen. I think you can say that about any state.
