Happy new year uxwbill. I like seeing how you employ both old tech (the video camera with tape & the Sony radio) and modern tech (apple watch) all at once.
I love how your so tired and just tell it like it is Bill. Happy new year and wow keykeeper is now married already that's awesome. I actually was sleeping on new Years Eve and woke up 10 min before midnight. Went on TH-cam to watch the new year come in 1 min before the new year ball dropped in New York. Then went back to sleep
I'm always more excited to see how William celebrates the new years than watching the ball drop in New York where everything is littered with advertisements.
Planet Fitness must spend an absolute fortune sponsoring that event. From the overwhelming crowds to the so-called entertainment, there's nothing about it that interests me. I had the TV on for about twenty minutes before I lost interest and shut it off.
Happy New Year. I stayed awake for all four of the continental U.S. time zones as I've been doing for several years now. ABC was live streaming a number of time zones around the world and had coverage for New York city, Chicago, and Las Vegas. Hit the hay at 3:10 AM
Happy new year uxwbill & family! I always look forward to your yearly New Year's video, even if a little belated. You certainly won't get any guff from me about that, to be honest I was pretty tired for this one too. Hard to put a finger on why, but I just really wasn't feeling too excited for 2025. But I'm still hopeful it'll be a good year regardless!
Thank you for watching. There are certainly some I've slept through in years past, often because after coming home from work, I was just completely bushed. On New Year's Eve, I'd spent most of the day watching, setting up for and ultimately hosting live streams. In particular, it was the setup that involved the most effort -- shuffling things around, testing equipment, planning for what do and similar things.
Here is a responsible (second) comment. I can't think of anything else at a time I should be in bed, considering I have to work tomorrow (which is today, even!) :-P
It wasn't so much that, but rather that I'd been very busy earlier in the day setting up for, watching and ultimately hosting live streams. Out of all of these, it was the setting up that involved a LOT of work. (Also, I note with much amusement that the TH-cam "AI" is now suggesting verbatim the text of comments I made earlier. Look out, for here comes the rise of the machines!) For those of you reading this years in the future: there probably will come a time when we can't believe we ever laughed at these things. That time is not today, at least not for TH-cam.
It's a Sony HDR-HC7 HDV camcorder that works very well, is paid for and does a very good job shooting in low light conditions. There's even Nightshot capability if it is needed.
@@uxwbill I love the "look" of your videos, brings back memories of how TH-cam used to look before 4K60 took over, back when the internet was less bloated and a Pentium 4 was a viable daily machine!
We're getting old xD i was also super tired.... but i couldnt sleep intill 3 in the night. its so peacefull where you life. in the Netherlands its fireworks for the whole day... its like a warzone... from 10 o'clock in the morning until 3 hours into the night....
In my case, it was less a matter of "getting old" than I'd just had a very big day watching, setting up for and hosting live streams. (The setup and hosting in particular were a lot of work.) Not that I don't know some of the other joys associated with growing older...but as I often say, as long as you're still having birthdays, you can't be doing too badly!
@@JohnSmith-xq1pz To each their own and buy what you like of course, but when the world is your oyster, you don't generally settle for fish paste. It's an Apple Watch Series 7, cellular with GPS.
@uxwbill indeed. I can appreciate the look/design of apple, it's there anti right to repair and wall garden we tell you what you can and can't do with the device you own that I have issue with
I certainly don't agree with everything Apple does. When the only alternative is Android, that's not really any kind of a choice. Even on that side of the fence, only a few truly repairable options exist. (Certainly if Apple were the innovator they claim to be, they'd have made a phone where everything could be repaired or replaced with common tools, while still maintaining every other aspect of their design.) (For a short time, I was one of the three or four people who actually had a Windows phone in the form of a Lumia 640. Microsoft could have been a viable competitor to the duopoly we're faced with now., but they didn't have any idea how to make Windows Phone a success, and so it just got steamrolled.)
I live in a place where there has been thousands of Pakistanis and Indians imported over the years, and they are always setting off fireworks most days of the year at midnight and after. So it was unusual to find they did not bother for New Year 2025. Very quiet indeed and even Yuletide has been quiet with low effort all round.
The Sony Liv radio lives to see another year!
Indeed it does. It's also a very decent performing little radio.
The new year just isn't complete without uxwbill's annual video! All the best for 2025!
Here’s to a happy new year!!

Happy New Year from Glendale, AZ!!!! Quiet there but WW3 here New Year's Eve for years and years now.
Happy New Year from Finland! The level of excitement was similar here. Only a few fireworks disturbed the otherwise normal night.

Looks like an Apple Watch. Possibly an SE model based on the size.

MiniDV, running in an HDV camcorder.
