i removed the pink 30A 4WD fuse on my qx56 and just disconnected the 4WD system without losing the Abs , so i think it's much safer , if you are not offloading you can do it with removing the front diff and axles and front drive shaft to get better fuel economy and free up some wheel hp on the wheels
With your 4w drive system off, does your low range still work. I use low range 2wd only when moving my caravan up a steep hill or driveway, to not put a lot of strain on the torque convertor
I heard doing this eats up the torque converter, how's it going so far ? Still ok. And what is the improvement in gas mileage are u getting ? Plus any other pros and cons from this.
Haven't see any negative effects yet. I only occasionally use 2WD when mucking around in sand. It doesn't change the fuel consumption as these Patrols are rear wheel drive until they loose traction at the rear, then the front axle comes into play. Only con is that ABS is turned off so any safety that brings is gone, hence why I would not use this on road.

Yes you should be worried. We have had cars come in that haven’t been serviced for 30k +. We have had to swap out x2 engines so far. Drop in to 4x4 DNA and we’ll have a look

I think I managed to keep it on by having it in reverse on the gear shifter.. but wasn't sure if there was another way. Crapped myself while writing a tune to it when it powered off.

Nissan Patrol owner’s manual is very vague about 4WD system. Nissan’s 4WD system is similar to torque on demand. Auto and 4H are the same.
