This made so much sense. I appreciate your commentary! Really good insight to someone who is not car savvy and also cannot afford to get this stuff done in a shop. Thanks Dan the Fix it Man!!
Great video. I couldn't get pads to seat properly, so after about a half hour I gave up and reused old clips that were in good shape. The pads just slipped in.
Doing brakes all around (rotors and pads) and each of the front brakes has one of the slide pins seized in the caliper brackets. Caliper brackets for a 2017 Camry SE are really expensive for some reason. I’ve got one pin so corroded that even with a ratchet it won’t spin! Never seen anything like this on all the front discs I’ve done in my life! 😢
I just got a quote on brake pads parts from a dealer, and the price was so expensive. Can you share the parts price? If I get the parts from auto shop I’d save %80.

Sil Glyde is great stuff.

The caliper is not going in after replacing the pads what can I do?
How did those drop in so easily? I fought mine for longer than I’d care to admit. Cheap NAPA parts I bought probably.
Took me forever too.

So do you need that tool to press the brakes in or not cause i seen different videos..
I just use a small pry bar or stout screwdriver like I showed in the video
My foot brake was on while changing rear brakes. Will that damage something?
The 14 mm bolt sheared off while I was trying to do this.
How do I get out the sheared-off piece?
Use a 3/8 " easy-out
Thanks for sharing
You do one at the time? On the front ones
Excellent job
Is it virtually the same process for rear pads?
Thank you!
Is it always lefty loosey righty tightly all the time or does it change
Always when doing brakes but when your on diff sides of the car the lefty turns either up or down but always left
How to fix brake pads back 20017 model Camry

17mm wrench is thinner than a regular wrench.
