  • This tutorial shows how to make a simple Celtic bracelet project. For materials, I used 14 (1.6 mm) sterling round wire, 14 gauge (1.6 mm), 8 gauge (3.25 mm) sterling half round wire, and 3/16 inch (4.76 mm) fine silver bezel strip in 26 gauge (.41 mm). The stone is a 9x11 mm pink Tourmaline Cabochon. As always, I use hard silver sheet solder and a liquid flux. MicroMark carries a Spreading Plier. Which uses a reverse action than regular pliers. When you squeeze the handles together, the jaws move further apart. I use them to stretch bezels, and round jump rings into ovals for chains. Thanks barb

    Hahahaha "like we did last summer "😂 I was actually waiting for it cause that's my sense of humor right there. I find myself singing snippets of songs for different situations all the time and I get looked at sideways for it.
    I love this piece Chad and your explanation on how to do it is impeccable. Its something im going to give a go.Also what skill level would you rate this as ?

      I added it to the intermediate playlist, but a beginner with a few pieces under their belt and a good grasp of how soldering works should be able to accomplish this:)

      www.riogrande.com/product/chain-nose-pliers/111911GP/?code=111911. I think you mean the bail making pliers (2 parallel cylinders)? If so, I think I got those on Amazon a long time ago:)

    I absolutely love this bracelet. I'm wondering how you deal with tarnishing between events? Do you just have to polish a zillion pieces of jewelry before each show?

    • @chadssilversmithing
      @chadssilversmithing  22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I usually go through and polish up the really tarnished ones. They do make little inserts to store in bags with jewelry to prevent tarnish, or you can use those silicone gel packs that come with some products that suck up moisture.

      I saw on one channel (possibly a Korean or Japanese silversmith) and they applied a special wax after polishing to prevent tarnishing.

    • @TheWaterMarbler
      @TheWaterMarbler 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @TyOtis Perhaps it was Renaissance wax?
