In this series, I translate and add additional info to this series from China for the international community to enjoy.

Thank you for your videos. Thank you even more so because there is so much misinformation surrounding sanda/sanshou that people don't even believe it's Chinese martial arts.

First, I wonder how much his interview comments were politically necessary? Few things seemed more the "part line" than reality. Second, I continue to be a bit amazed (STILL!) in the diffrences between the pulic aka "folk" martial arts tradition in China vs what I know as going on in police and military circles. At this point, I should NOT be amazed, I was there for much of this... but I am LOL!

He definitely said some things that were politically motivated unfortunately. My uncle was a police public security combat instructor in Beijing until his retirement.

@@MuShinMartialCulture for one thing, the idea that knees (especially) and elbows were not part of Chinese martial arts always amuses me :) I told a student of mine with a background in Muay Thai "of course the Chinese didn't realize they had knees and elbows in over 5000 years"... and he said "really?" and I said "OF COURSE NOT< don't be silly!"

Wow, well most CMA has knees and elbows. People often confuse format rules with CMA content, thinking one fully represents the other@@DavidRoss2780A
