Looks like a superb production. He's fun to watch in these clips from opera productions, more than in concert -- superb actor as well as such a lovely singer, excellent!

I love this production, it is as if Diego Velázquez had painted it! The spanish golden century on stage. And Ferruccio Furlanetto is a genius, as a singer and as an actor!
It is not possible for me to love this cast any more. And whoever thought to get a closeup of Bryn Terfel at the first "Ma in Ispagna..." brava, so hard.
I have on DVD the Salzburg performance of Don Giovanni in 1987. Furlanetto was its Leporello. What an amazing performer he was then and still is here, although I can scarcely imagine what it must have been like for Karajan, struggling to find a balance between himself and a cast whose members were all at least 30 years younger than he was. And yes, he did look and sound younger then; I did not think that this was him at first.
A favorite performance of my favorite opera! I taped it on video cassette when watching it on PBS and watched it many times over the years. It also starred Samuel Ramey (another favorite) as the Don and Kathleen Battle as Zerlina.

The old guard has retired from the Metropolitan Opera chorus. I am in the middle. We revere people like Placido Domingo and Ferruccio Furlanetto. The younger people, not so much.
We have taught children that they can have any and everything they want. Hence cancel culture. Babies should get what they want all the time. Grownups compromise.
Furlanetto's favorite arias/works are serious, so it's interesting to see him do this one so amazingly well. (He mentions his favorites in an interview---they include Ella giammai m'amo.)

Bravo Furlanetto, for the singing and the acting, not to forget the scenic direction. Don Giovanni listening and reacting, Dona Anna listening and reacting and lovely little Susanna running in and reacting while Furlanetto is, in a way, the puppet-master, teasing, provoking and mastering the scene. In this one he is superior to the Don himself. I loved it!
Never watch up to now such an EXCELLENT Leporello! He is even better than the one in Losey's film! Perfect singing, great actor performance and interpretation... Look at the 3 different moves he did in the end, singing while playing the violin just in front of the woman! This is a genius idea! :D
I love how proud he is when he says that he made the catalogue himself. And then it is the determined "mille e tre" which he repeats when Donna Elvira seems in disbelief 😂😂

the whole performance SHOULD be available somewhere. I have seen numerous "cuts", including this one, on TH-cam and it is listed as a "TV Movie" on IMBd movie info site. I suspect it was a "Live from the Met" PBS broadcast in 1990 and those are usually available on Deutsche Grammophon DVD's
