If it helps another parent, or day napped, you can use large clips to keep your curtains closed. The kind that you can get to hold towels on to pool chairs work great
Awesome video!!!! I completely understand about the sleeping situation. I usually pack my own pillow because hotel pillows tend to be too squishy for me. I do recommend packing a pair of earplugs when you travel, because you never know. We've never had an issue with thin walls, but I usually have the tv on when we're in the room. Happy Holidays!!!! :D
I get that you are trying to be upfront and honest but it really did seem you were looking for all the negatives about the hotel. I can’t say I’ve ever gone in a hotel and examined the size of the toilet. Something that you left out was the price. How much was it for one night? How much did breakfast cost? Do they have transportation that takes you to the parks? You focused on the negatives so much that I was shocked when you actually gave it a decent rating.
I mentioned in the end of the video the price of my room for one night. I showed the prices for individual items so I felt like I didn’t need to show my breakfast total and at the end of the video I said I was taking a bus to the parks. If I did miss any of that then I apologize. I can only be so thorough. And I try to focus on the things that most other channels don’t focus on to give you the most accurate and honest review possible
It looks really nice for a budget hotel! Great food choices for breakfast too. Personally I rent a villa when I come out. It's way cheaper (and much bigger!) than a hotel. Kids have their own room, so adults can relax in the evening in their own space, and you can fill your fridge with much cheaper drinks and snacks etc, and you have your own pool. That's just a personal preference though!
Yes! We discovered rental homes our last time down! Worth it for just the personal pool. And no one else has to listen to my kids be wild and/or have a meltdown.
I totally agree about the noise. We were there for 4 nights and I only slept for one of the 4 nights. You can hear everything, from every direction, upstairs, hallway, muffled talking next room. It was horrible. But the food court was great. Unfortunately, we won't be returning due to the thin walls.
We just got back from staying at the surfside. Was curious about the dockside 🙂 I used your tips for Hagrids Motorbike! Thank you! Oh and these rooms are pretty much the same as the surfside except the card in the wall for the light. The curtains I was able to make it work by pulling them as close together as possible in the opposite direction and it worked. You just have to hold it for a second with two hands. My negatives are, the light switch for the sink area being connected to the hallway light, the bathroom doesn't have a fan for steam, the door to the other room being thin. While I could hear some of the other rooms, foot stomps and what not, it wasn't that bad but that door, it needs to be soundproofed. Overall I would stay there again though. It was the best price for what you get and we got unlimited express passes for the whole week for the price of one day. The transportation to and from the resort was very convenient and can't beat getting early access to Harry Potter. Definitely helped actually getting on the motorbike ride. The breakfast could've been better.
Glad to hear this was a nice place to go, I need two bedrooms one for the teens, I just booked 11 nights in November but am nervous about hearing the people in the next room talking (so I’ve heard) and was wondering about fass pass prices
If you don’t mind me asking what Camera do you use for your trips like this? I’m going Next summer but we are staying at Surfside Inn. Would love to film the family trip on a great quality camera.
When the curtains don’t meet, I use a hair clip to hold them together. Since you were flying solo, you wouldn’t have something like that , I’m assuming...but they come in handy.
Great video! I stayed at Cabana Bay back in 2014 and really enjoyed the hotel. I'm not sure if people were aware of the hotel at the time because it was pretty empty and very quiet when I went in early December of that year. Universal really does their value hotels well with the theming and making it feel a bit luxe for the price point.
All the drinks at the bar are names of the rides that used to be at wet n wild! Also the holy beeb-lay is put away due to COVID since it isnt an item that can be washed!
Thanks for the review. Should’ve stayed at Surfside last year but couldn’t so hoping to come this year 🤞🏼 love seeing hotel reviews, great to see things first hand rather than just reading reviews. Hope you can do more in the future 👍🏻
I stayed at Surfside in August and had the exact same problems. We were upgraded to a poolview room which we didn't want because my moms a light sleeper. We were on the second floor and you can hear the music inside the room. It was so loud that we might as well have stayed outside in the pool area. The walls were also super thin there too and we could hear everything going on outside of the room. Also, the wifi was super spotty in our room. We weren't sure why. Both Endless Summer hotels were only open for a week before the pandemic closure and we took a gamble on the room. If I would've seen videos like this before I booked the hotel I would've stayed elsewhere and maybe done some hotel hopping and visited the hotel like that
Thanks much for sharing all the infos of this hotel! We’ll be staying there next week and you had provided excellent infos! I was really concerned about the park’s full capacity if we would be late getting there, also the check-in, and you mentioned both! 👍
The only thing I didn't like was what you said about the thin walls. I don't sleep good as it is, so I hope the noisy kids won't keep me up. Loved your review. I'll be staying here during the Universal Meetup in June. Oh, I did have one question. Are the prices for the Universal merch in the gift shop the same price as in the park?
It’s the second review about this hotel that’s says that the walls are very thin. Can you still pool-hop between Universals Resorts ? I’m traveling in April , please let us know
I never sleep well in a hotel room the first night. I like rooms to be very cold or need a very thin blanket, and usually the blankets at most European hotels are pretty thick and warm. And AC usually doesn't go below 18 C. So I'll just be in bed sweating my tits off all night. Also I always wear earplugs (even at home, live in the city centre next to a busy road), and especially at hotels with different sounds they're a must for me.
@@ThemeParkExpress Thanks for answering! Love the honesty in your videos btw! It's a refreshing change from most Orlando vloggers that act like everything is just perfect all the time!
New hotel... They don't have earth saving big bottles of shampoo/conditioner/body wash but still give you little bottles, clock is incorrect, thin walls, no coffee maker in room. Also very reasonable price. I appreciate these little insights. thank you.
The whole video I was waiting for the holy beeb-lay....so disappointed 😆 I am also extremely particukar about my pillow, so I always have to bring mine.
You found a lot of negative things on this hotel but what did you expect? It’s a value hotel the cheapest hotel are always gonna not gonna be the best. But that doesn’t bother me, the cheaper the hotel the longer I can stay.🤗
I was one of the ppl who had to move from Dockside due to the opening being pushed. My March one was cancelled, and July was moved to Cabana Bay. In September I stayed at Surfside, and I agree 100% that the beds are terrible. They seem okay, but then actually trying to sleep it's terrible for some reason. It's really a bummer because I WANT to stay onsite, but I can't pay $400/night for a hotel, and honestly there are a lot cheaper hotels than even the Endless Summer hotels that have significantly nicer beds. So I don't know who does the purchasing for Universal but they are terrible at their job. I also have a cheap mattress at home - under $150 from Amazon.
love the vlog but u for got that no one has been in there befor so it will be dusty and what u had on ur finger looked like dry wall or the stuff of the ciliing plaster they do the ciling last i know becouse i use to work in building hotels brfot i fell and got my head hurt. and ur being a lil overly picky on things!

I stayed here at endless last fall it was nice I got the suites was more spacious and there was a Walgreens across the street

I love this video.
Myself I never sleep well in a hotel on the first night.
I love the honest revoew
When they have the clippy hangers, I use them to clip together the two curtains to stop anymore light coming in lol13:59

@Theme Park Express
I had a good stay there, even with thin walls.
Next time, show the gym, game room etc.
Keep u the good work 👍

Nice vid....we are staying there next week! Love that place and we enjoy your vids!
How would you compare this hotel to a disney value hotel? Are the rooms the same in terms of wall thinness and the stuff they give you?
Awesome tour I’m trying the stay at the dockside in the nearest future Thanks for the Video!

@@annmarie9040 how was the noise? Debating on staying at cabana bay because I've read so many complaints about thin walls at dockside...
Thanks for this video, so much detail. Thank you especially for showing the prices for the food!

Great video! The place looks nice and pool is gorgeous.
We just booked a stay here for a quick one-night trip and this was very insightful.
I particularly loved the outro music :-)
Pro strat on the curtains - use one of the hangers with clips from the closet!
This is a move more people need to know👍
Hello! There is microwave in the food court? Thank's!

Also they beds aren't bad at all. We were in a suite on the 9th floor. Great shuttle service to Universal's Parks.
Chip clip for blackout curtains.
i use the coat hangers with pant clips as well
All the drinks at the bar are names of the rides that used to be at wet n wild! Also the holy beeb-lay is put away due to COVID since it isnt an item that can be washed!
Valid point! Thank you for pointing that out!

Ty for video. Sorry u had hard time sleeping. I recommend you take Tylenol pm n wearing ear plugs. It helps me stay asleep Merry Christmas

Oh, I did have one question. Are the prices for the Universal merch in the gift shop the same price as in the park?
I feel like for $10-20 dollars more a night you can stay at Cabana Bay, which is soooo much nicer in my opinion at least.
So who wins on value for the stay and food options? Disney value or Universal?
Sweet! Thanks for the review! ✨
I enjoy seeing the rooms. Gives me ideas of where to stay!
It’s the second review about this hotel that’s says that the walls are very thin.
Can you still pool-hop between Universals Resorts ? I’m traveling in April , please let us know
Good job with video but might want to show prices of freestyle mugs and point out that resort mugs DO NOT work in the parks.

Does this resort have transportation to the park?
Love hotel and room tours. Looking forward to more!
Ty for the review! If you could do one at all star movies I would greatly appreciate it!
Haven't stayed at Dockside but Surfside's bed was also very soft and hurt my back a little. That's something I've found with most hotels though.
Appreciate the real review!
Can anyone confirm if there are coffee makers in the room? Thanks
No coffee maker from what I saw. The two bedroom suites may be different
@@ThemeParkExpress Thanks for answering! Love the honesty in your videos btw! It's a refreshing change from most Orlando vloggers that act like everything is just perfect all the time!
@tammy Leigh there are coffee makers and microwaves in the 2 br suite. Stayed December 15th I believe and the 2 br is awesome
I’m glad we’ve upgraded to the hard rock! Thanks for the review ☺️
As we have come to expect a great review of the hotel but a pity you were on your own

I thoroughly enjoyed your bed review, ( jumping on bed, with belly shot) must have in all future room reviews.
I’m going on March
The whole video I was waiting for the holy beeb-lay....so disappointed 😆

I've never heard it called that before, me and the hubby had to rewind it to work out what he ment as well 🤣
I've been going to Universal since day 1. I've only stayed in a universal hotel once..... Hard rock for 1 night and it was way too expensive..
You found a lot of negative things on this hotel but what did you expect? It’s a value hotel the cheapest hotel are always gonna not gonna be the best. But that doesn’t bother me, the cheaper the hotel the longer I can stay.🤗
Holy Beble
The walls are thin the neighbor will wake you up at night.the picture fell off the wall in the middle of the night.don't bother
Never ever ever be in front of the ice machine
