He's not speeding up and he doesn't need to use a click. It just sounds off because we're hearing audio from behind the mains and behind his shielded kit and they're playing in a massive open venue. You're hearing echoed latency but he's got in ears that are right on time, and that's what he's playing with. If we were in front of the band it'd sound fine, it's a matter of perspective.
You my friend understand what is actually going on in this vid, haha only musicians who know about Sound engineering & Live Sound gets it :) cheers, we're in the cool club ✌
I got to meet Flip and the rest of the boys in Creed before they were signed. They did an acoustic version of My Own Prison in the WEBN studios back in the late 90’s and the performance was hauntingly extraordinaire. I brought them on stage later that night at a joint called Fat Cats in Clifton, OH in front of about 12 ppl. The patrons had no idea what they were seeing? They were seeing a band that was about to sell 10s of millions of copies in becoming the biggest band in the world. It was such a pleasure getting to know these guys and Creed & Alter Bridge have become 2 of my favorite hard rock bands. So cheers to you all & God bless both bands and families involved!
Jesus!!!! Where.....where can I find a drummer like him in NY??? I have such a beautiful music but I can’t make it happen because of this....., A Drummer with passion, feeling and technique! Hope somebody in Brooklyn, NY who love and understand this type of music can reach me! Scott Phillips you are the master!
i love Scotts Drumming , where can i see more of his videos ???? like Drum cam videos or just he playing Drums ... ??? this guy has to have more videos ...
Hey Barrel ass, how's Cadence doing? Naturally I'm kidding in a sense, I met Scott and hung out in Cleveland during the Blackbird release. a terrific guy, great, father, gifted drummer and all around nice guy! He was like, "Harry say goodnight to Cadence!' I was like, ummm Go to sleep Cadence, daddy loves you and so does Uncle Har, sweet dreams princess... Scott seriously is a great person!
Yep that's why Scott, Brian, and Mark are still making hit albums and headlines, and Stapp is just a once upon a time legend in his own mind. I get on my knees every day and thank Stapp for being such an arrogant A-hole and having a bad case of Axle Rose syndrome. If it wasn't for Stapp, there would be no Alter Bridge, nor would there be a Tremonti project either.

John Cellar well said!
Mark is the only one who doesn't use in ears. So any speed issues are because of him and the band just follow so he doesn't sound off on his own.
John Cellar
Well said man

Regardless of what anyone of you all say I think Alter Bridge as a whole is one of the better lineups to ever take the stage

Underrated drummer, Flip on
@LivinTheWayISeeFit Slide technique is one of techniques which is used to make fast double strokes on bass drum.
your awesome scott!!!
That must be quite the workout.
He uses slide technique right? as we can see on the video
Amaziiiiing, amaziiiiing...# Tukul
I think Myles might be the happiest person in the band that they started used clicks.
FLIP!!!😎👍
Solid
Me too
👍👍👍👍
Why does he keep speeding up?
J K its the echo from the stage.
Because that's how they play usually. And I love that because it adds more energy. This is live.
Uhhhh...... he may use the slide technique, but if you look at the double bass parts in here you clearly see him using his double pedals
Cause he can
He speeds up like crazy!
wahre worte
