Its so funny seeing people have zero fallout knowledge react. Things do get wild😂. And the turret at the beginning are known for not hitting anything unless you're standing absolutely still (in the games)
There are a couple fun Easter eggs to the game early in this ep: that machine gun turret having the worst aim ever (because that’s how they are in the game) and Lucy greeting the guy with the “water filter” by holding a gun on him, because in the game you play in first person (at least, most folks do) and you’re always holding a gun up when you talk to people, so it’s always like you’re holding a gun on them while you’re talking to them
"You know people got that last *gasp*gasp*.." lol 😂😂😂😂 All Imma say is, you ladies are asking the right questions, and coming to some great conclusions..
4:22, Amber I agree. Once I saw the size of the roaches in the trailer I was like "Nope I'm not built for this world, I will go out with the bomb drops"
What triggered the turret was him removing his Pip boy (the thing on his wrist). The Pip Boy acts as an identifier. (Identify Friend or Foe = iFF) and when he took it off; the turret triggered.
Notice that the most humane product vault-tec ever made was a literal "unalive" pill, now in banana flavor, lol. Really says a lot about how awful their other things, including the vaults, were.
That thing that the scientist gave Lucy is a weapon from the game, a chainsaw knife called a Ripper. Filly is probably the remains of Filmore, but the visuals of the town were based on the town in Fallout 3, called Megaton. It’s great watching people who haven’t played the games watch the show! You’re in for quite a ride, so hang on tight!
1:04 that green hand is (most likely) a supermutant. Supermutants are basically humans who got infected by the Forced Evolutionary Virus (or FEV), an artificial virus created by the pre-war US government, that has the ability to radically change the body of the infected host. Supermutants are taller, stronger and tougher than a regular human, but, generally speaking (in the games thare are a few notable exceptions), are also way dumber, cannibalistic and aggressive towards anything non-supermutant
I cannot wait for you ladies to get mid way through this season. The girl who plays Lucy McClean is British btw. And she voices Someone in Arcane. I cannot remember if the three of you have watched Arcane if not check it out as season 2 is out in a month or so. Lots of love for you three ladies all the way from the UK.
I'm a huge fan of these games and have played almost all of them. It's so fun to watch non players come into this reality and try to sort out what's going on. I can't wait till you see the last episode
I mention this because I think it’ll come back in season two. Dr. Wilzig, the man with the dog everyone is looking for, his character is a scientist from an organization called the Enclave. People will want him not only for what he knows but also because of his association with that group. Decades earlier (fallouts 2 and 3) the Enclave revealed themselves to the wasteland and went on a reign of terror. Their organization is made up of descendants of American presidents, senators, generals, captains of industry, and other such people. Suffice to say they have a massive superiority complex. Most people aren’t even sure if the Enclave still exists, but they view them the same way people in the real world view nazis, and for good reason. It seems our scientist had a change of heart and tried to make a break for it.
Not everyone in the Enclave is a true believer. Some folks were just raised in the organization (like Maximus and the Brotherhood). There could be all sorts of reasons that Wilzig ran. They wouldn't put price on his head through all of the bounty agencies if he was simply a defector. He must have something that the Enclave values greatly.
Honestly this is the fastest I have seen someone (with zero Fallout knowledge) catch on with the fact that the Vaults are experiments. Boy, Vault-Tech are freaky AF.
Imma make you not wanna live here even more xD Rad Roaches arent the only bigger thing xD Alot of smaller critters are now larger. Scorpions and Geckos are like the size of large dogs, and there are flies the size of chihuahuas.
Maximus actually had NO CHOICE in going into that cave, if he were to refuse, he'd be killed on the spot by the Knight. And they would just give him a new squire. All you would be left with is a dead Maximus, nothing more, nothing less.
The majority of the creatures in Fallout were genetically modified to withstand radiation. The experimenting went a bit too far and created some messed up and horrific creatures. There are also mythical creatures that came out of hiding after most of humanity was killed. Creatures like the Wendigo, Mothman, Nymph, and mole people who are called mole miners in the game because they are miners.
I liked some of your thoughts after this episode. The show doesn't even begin to get as deep as the lore of the games though. Think Truman show. Think Hunger games. Think Squid game
I think that limb is just so that you can get a soldier back into the fight as quickly as possible, it probably needs to be accompanied by massive doses of radioactive drugs and stimulants
i don't understand how some people can just kill a puppy and then go about their day as if nothing happened 🤷♀ some people are just built differently , if i had to do this once, my life would be changed forever
These are literally the people who use nuclear bombs and commit multiple acts of genocide - killing a puppy is probably the least awful thing that they do
@@crescendyr8438 Also, as nongamers who are new to the world of Fallout, it’s probably hard to know specifically all the things to leave in, watching one or two episodes at a time. So…relax.

The bear is a yao guai, mutant version of the black bear. Best dealt with by running away, in my experience.
black bear or brown bear? brown bears are the scary ones. black bears are easy to intimidate.
half the people who watch think it's a rat 😄🤔
@@vinsanity40kbears without hair look absolutely insane. google it and enjoy your nightmares.
A few stempacks and VATS with a good weapon...no problem
A Stunted Yao Guai, to be more specific.

For as grim dark as this show is they manage to season it just right with humor! I never played the games so I am enjoying this journey with you
"I don't even know these people! I came to get some iguana." I died laughing, that was great 😂😂😂

Great reaction ladies. It's a pretty good representation of the universe. Keep going.

The monster in the cave is a mutant bear. They are called YaoGuai and they are very dangerous enemies in the game.

those machine gun turrets rarely hit you in game if you are sprinting. it's a clever little nod to the game.

In Fallout lore, Mark I machine guns (as shown in the opening) are terribly inaccurate.
