Galatea: "Why would you compare me to a murderous villain?" Also Galatea: "She almost burned her parents to death and left them with third degree burns! That's the funniest thing imaginable!!!"
i find it kinda funny how you started this video with the statement that people have compared you with the villain, and then 17 minutes in get into a laughing fit at the main character turning her mother into a roasted marshmallow. correlation? possible.
a dark sense of humor speaks more of coping with big sad/scary concepts rather than of meanness, evil or what have you. Though the fact that she chose to single out this commenter observation probably DOES speak of her having questions concerning her morals/ethics, at least subconciously. Though it's usually the good guys/gals who struggle with this, the bad ones don't even think about it. but maybe not. who knows.
I think it was funny because the tone the show took was so off. Like they portray this as a sympathetic moment, when realistically if you hear that someone set fire to their parents, most people's minds don't go to 'you poor traumatized baby', they go to 'huge red flag, this person is unstable'.
Evil is only the wish to do good, even if those good intention are not wanted by the others, because everything works already. When this wish to do good is not granted, the obsession to do it and press it into the peoples makes the evil, evil. Without the notice of the evil person. The evil will see all others as evil not itself. And the others see themself threatened by the obsession of the person, that is so agressive to do good.
They are supposedly in another world/dimension yet have cellphones and some seem to want to run away to the human world ? Wouldn't their worlds have different issues then earth ? Idk
I hated the way the narrative treated Aisha. Like, she was painted as a “bad friend” for not going along with Bloom’s idiotic and selfish plan to break a known MURDERER out of her prison?? She was the only one with common sense but was punished by the narrative for it. Keep up the great work. I can’t wait for the other parts to this, and your take on Bridgerton. I hope you roast it well done to a crisp.
i was so rooting for the teachers. You dont need a lot of braincells to realize releasing a war criminal is bad. Like an interesting twist would be if the teachers were actually the ones who were the war criminals and Bloom and Beatrix were right, then we'd have the tension of "ohh who's lying" or smth. But no, it's a teen show. And also, the teachers kept Beatrix in a barn in the school? Why?? Also why did they put random students guarding her, why didnt they just, i dont know, DO 210958 SPELLS TO KEEP THE BARN LOCKED AND ALL??? Surely 3 experienced magic users would be able to put enough and strong spells so a first year student wont escape. Same for the secred passage to the war criminal lady's cell - they only did like 2 spells, one was the spell that paralyzes the people who enter /and it got deactivated after the first person who went there/ and the other was the spell keeping her asleep. Why not put more spells? Youre supposed to be advanced in magiv, wtf????
@@theauthenticobserver they messed up blooms personally in this film not to sound biased and compare to the animated series, but this movie made many changes to these characters. And it’s true Aisha should’ve hve been the villian
I will never forgive how they made Stella a baby Diaspro, made Flora some random cousin, made Aisha/Layla a peasant and not a CROWN PRINCESS, Musa isn't Asian, Riven is a bigger punk (at least he became loveable LATER) and of course THEIR CLOTHES AND THEIR WORLD LOOK SO PLAIN AND CHEAP. Yeah there's more BUT those are my main gripes all that could've stayed and made it Fate and it would've been better....
Don't forget the outfits those have to go and no tecna the smartest baddest person I know why didn't they put tecna in there and move terra🙄. And there's no brandon, helia, nabu and timmy.
One of the worst things about the show was just how unbearable Bloom was as a friend. Literally every scene she had with the others, someone would be trying to talk about the problems they were having and Bloom would just cut them off. "Yeah that sucks that you can constantly feel the pain of everybody around you and there's no way to stop it, but did you know that I don't know who my parents are?" "Oh, you're having problems with your weight and body image making you feel like you're not good enough for anyone? At least you know how to control your powers." It was never-ending, she was the most self-obsessed and uncaring friend I could possibly imagine. Also hated how they vilified Aisha and had everyone turn on her just for being the only character that wasn't instantly backing Bloom's terrible decisions. "You don't think we should break a proven murderer out of prison for the purpose of breaking a super-powerful MASS MURDERER out of an even bigger prison, on the small chance that one of them knows who your parents were? Wow, you're a shitty friend." Aisha was the only character with any brains at all. The flashback story was entirely pointless too. So first we find out that Rosalind was put in prison unfairly because Dowling wanted to be Headmistress, I guess. Ok. Then, plot twist, we find out it was actually because she tricked Dowling and the other teachers into committing genocide on innocent people to take out the burned ones. But then, even bigger plot twist, apparently they weren't innocent people but they were... blood witches. Which we've never heard of before. So what was the point? Why did Rosalind bother tricking the teachers when she could have just told them there were burned ones AND blood witches?! When the teachers find out about the blood witches they're like "Oh damn I would have totally been cool with murdering them, if only we'd known then we wouldn't have put Rosalind in prison." BITCH WHAT. There was honestly nothing at all to gain from lying to them besides CrEaTiNg DrAmA.
Tbh if I was the headmistress I'd too lie to this random 16 year old who just has to know everything. Bloom was so annoying. I really hate how they treated Aisha, she was literally the one moping Bloom's never ending list of complaints and shit, saved her from burning everything few times and always was there and then - nah youre a bad friend. Aisha was the best friend from all of them, Stella was extremely mean to Bloom and Musa and Terra didnt even speak to her, they shared like 2 scenes. But no, Aisha is the bad friend. And in the end they were just "ah okay we love you again Aisha" because,,,,, she fought like everybody else??? even tho they were all on the same side against the burned ones??? ok sure
I just feel like the whole "almost burned my parents" point could've been a bit more interesting if she actually turned to Aisha and said a chaotic and destructive part of her enjoyed it, as if they did not matter at all once they weren't useful to her. Perhaps, it would've made more sense to me why she slowly created a path of fire slithering towards the parents and, just as it reached them, she realized, "oh darn, I cannot be a baddy, I am the protagonist". Btw, I did watch Winx as a kid and the angsty and gloomy vibe of the show was a turn off, specially Bloom's characterization. She was positive, hardworking, humble and she officially had adoptive parents, but since the start she loved her family, no questions asked. My point is, if you wanna go dark, then go all the way, change it, don't deliver a cheap, patched up version of what it was, because the adaption will suffer for it. It should stand on its own.
You're totally right, the show would've been so much better if they'd just embraced Bloom being kind of a bad person rather than trying to pretend she was good. That would have made her so much more compelling and made for some great storylines as she tries to not become a terrible human being
And also Aisha was obviously the one who had her magic /and life/ under control, why would they suddenly make her loose control in the middle of the show? It would be better if she was Very Good at magic and ofc was praised by the teachers for it and that would be also good for her "teacher's pet" persona they tried to do. And then Bloom making Aisha teach her but also Aisha being all "to control it you need to be very calm and to know what youre doing and have clear mind" or some shit like that but Bloom going mad because she likes destruction and can control her powers best when destroying stuff...Also I hated how their magic was basically controlled by 2 things; anger or happiness. Like yeah i know it's fictional and they have to make up some shit on how to control magic but ??? you could have literally pick anything??? but no, angy = bad, happy = good
@@BleedingLiar17 perhaps because she did her research and did not feel the need to highlight her love for Winx and her disappointment. Seems more objective; she did not focus on how it translated to live action, but gave a general criticism to adaptations targeted at young folk and judged the show on its own merit, like she mentioned at the start.
@@BleedingLiar17 Like the others have said, she can judge it as its own thing. I never even picked up on the lack of explanation about the otherworld and the specialists, for example, because I already knew it so well from the original I didn't have to think about it.
The whole "world" is just one cheese filled with holes. They all live at this school, and there is not single town or village in sight. So the defiantly stay in this school the whole week/months. And they have a cafeteria were they use paper cups for the coffee and also paper plates for the food? Like, put aside that it is environmentally not the best move, but also massively more expensive??? And the world is so modern that they have smartphones, instagram and cars but the only village we see (aster dell), looks like a medieval town? They don't know where california is, but know all the Harry potter references?
In the cartoon it was really interesting because Alpfea was in this very technologically advanced world, like they had flying motorcicles and lightsabers and shit, there was a nearby city that had actual population and the girls went shopping there..
@@MistbornTaylor 😂😂 Same, I waa like the fairies world there is much more interesting. In winx its just basically a normal boarding school, so lame 🙄🙄.
DUDE SAME. Anytime I saw others enjoying Winx, I'd be so annoyed cus I'd remember how WITCH was a better show and got canceled for reasons i didn't know then. I'm Nigerian and barely had any access to the internet then.
Same! And I'm kind of glad that W.I.T.C.H is underrated (enough), cause it lessens the chances of U.S tv producers get their hands on them. Like, we really dodge a bullet.
Ah yes, Teenagers and their well known Allergy to Joy and Sparkles. I remember when I was a Teenager. Almost exploded when I touched a Piece of Glitter once.
The part that got me was when Terras dad locked them in the room and then the burned ones attacked. They manage to escape and ten minutes later the dad/teacher was like "where have you been!!!"
Yes I hated this so much!!!! Sir, there's a literal war going on and you lock your daughter and her friends in their room and then have the audacity to ask them why they are not there! Also Terra's brother got hurt because they were locked. Not to mention the dad didnt even worry about his daughter when they called everyone in the main hall /or whatever that room was/, he just went 'ah my kids are gone, typical thursday"????????
How could they have shown us that bloom can't control her powers and also has problems with her mom during her teens, if not by nearly burning them alive???? Don't you nearly kill your parents if you have an argument that maybe you should go outside and not sit in your room 24/7?
Okay I haven't even watched 1 second of the video but I have to comment that you look exactly like Beatrix. Every time she was on screen I was: "Oh, here's Galatea". edit: okay omg I'm so sorry I didn't see that you commented on my comment on your last video lmao YT didn't even notify omg the queen officially acknowledged me
Honestly, I don't plan to ever watch this TV show, since I grew up watching it on Nickelodeon...why does Hollywood insist on ruining my childhood constantly?
Galatea: For some unknown reasons people compare me to a villain Also Galatea: *laughing uncontrollably* And she almost burnt her parents to death! Lol
and another thing about the dialogue was the fact that some characters did a lot of references to 20-21st century earth but others didnt. Like 1) pop culture references in teen shows are almost always cringey bc they never do them well; 2) i get it if it was only Bloom making the references and everyone else not getting them, she would be like QuiRkY or whatever, but it was straight up Aisha getting the hogwarts reference and then Stella being all ????? wtf is this and then Sky being all "yeah i know James Bond" HOW TF DO YOU KNOW JAMES BOND WHEN YOU'VE NEVER BEEN TO EARTH AND IT'S IN LIKE A PARALEL WORLD OR SMTH? It's not like you can watch the BBC in Alphea and just catch up on Doctor Who or whatever.
"why is this so hysterical?" because it's very much "you could not make it up" except they really fucking did - and nobody said anything about it - a committee all agreed that this was fine and it went through production and editing and nobody did anything, lol.
You know what’s sad? That W.I.T.C.H is arguably the better show out of the two and it only lasted two seasons, while Winx just doesn’t want to die. But, I truly hope they leave W.I.T.C.H alone, because I doubt it’d have the same level of charm or heart if it got a reboot or remake.
So as a kid I was both Winx and Witch girl, but I did prefer the Witch comics over the Winx ones. Btw the Witch comics also had a similar story*, like Taranee was actually found in a burning building as a baby and adopted /like Bloom/, but her whole character kind of feared fire? And she was a lot more, idk, quiet and reserved, as if she feared her powers and was like "no thanks im fine". When Bloom /in the live action/ tries to be like this, but is very curious about her magic but also doesnt know shit and even after 2305982 potential accidents where she almost killed people, she still didnt realize she needed to take that seriously. *I just now realized Taranee had a similar story as Bloom FROM THE ORIGINAL SHOW, not Fate!Bloom. The original Bloom was found in a burning builing as a baby, because her adopdive dad was a firefighter and they decided to keep her.
I'm not even considering watching this series, I'm tired of those reboots and remakes that change the main parts of the plot for no reason at all! Like sure you can change some stuff but come on. Btw: great make-up!
Exactly. No one minds dark and edgy but shows can't only be one thing. Especially when its involving supposed teenagers and young adults. Plus dark and edgy always means drugs and sex gotta be there too even though the show shouldn't really showcase it much in the context of teens or even fantasy worlds where they'd have other things to worry about. More realistic things.
Live action adaptations tend to fail. Nowadays they are much worse thanks to the trend of making them gritty, politically loaded, nihilistic, "mature", or edgy.
I will now be disappointed if I find out the show doesn't have the main villain laughing hysterically at the main character almost burning their mother to death
@@theauthenticobserver I have actually started watching the show, since everyone is so passionate about it (not in a good way). "Disappointing" is a good way to describe it. Even the actors look like they don't want to be there.
Istg I've not even seen the Netflix adaptation but you convinced me that this was gonna ruin my childhood fav show lol- also you were such a mood in this entire video (especially when you were like "I'm terrible at sticking to a schedule"- that's me in a nutshell lol) And I wish Acis a steady recovery and have him in my prayers xD
There are going to be one or two more videos??????????? i'm not ready 😭😭 Omg I hope you'll be able to make them, I know it's something that you've struggled with in the past though so please, take your time, no pressure, and if you feel like you can't do it that's okay too ❤️ do what's best for you!
I see the background liquor has been replaced with fainting plants. I'm sure their disappearance has nothing to do with the existence of this video. Best of wishes and a speedy recovery to Acis (and your mental sanity).
I hope this bombs so hard that they never make an EDGY LIVE ACTION ADAPTATION of a beloved children's franchise ever again. Seriously... If I have to see the Powerpuff girls wearing high heeled combat boots and winged eyeliner and saying "fuck mojo jojo," then I'm going to exile myself in the woods. These producers really seem to think that making something """mature""" is somehow a shortcut to making it "good" or "serious." It's so damned lazy. Imho, Mature and explicit are not the same thing.
THIS. Yessss, explicit does not automatically make it grown up. Like I said, this show was just a bizarre mix of childish but also there was oral? WHYYYY
@@theauthenticobserver That mix makes me think "this is how a teenager would write adult content." I can't help but wonder who their target audience is with this type of thing. If the writing is as bad as you say, it can't possibly be directed at oldschool Winx fans, because those people are in their twenties by now. Is it directed at teens? Because they wouldn't even know what Winx is. ...Maybe they sincerely thought adults would like it, or maybe the whole point is just the outrage clicks. :/ Either way, it seems a shame and a waste of a beloved IP.
As someone who grew up watching Winx, I was more excited seeing you dressed up gorgeously as Bloom than the show, because I knew it was going to just be another show that looks like every other show on the CW. Though, I think you're wrong about what they did. They didn't just overfill it with angst injections, they gutted the very heart of the show, digging out the friendships, the fairy dust, and all that made it truly unique, then they bloated it up to overfilling with angst and brooding, boring cliches. But what do I know? Clearly colors and pixie dust are for kids only. Oh, and real cute fashion. 😑😑😑
I mean t be fair, beatrix is the only one that isnt out of character since she wasnt one to begin with so shes the only one i have no problems much with. Love you galatea
"Hey, you know this technicolor cartoon series? Let's remake it as a dark and gritty series with real actors. There's no way this will cause issues with tone, setting or writing in general."
I watched the first scene of the show and then clicked out. But this review was awesome! Love your fairy outfit too! Should have been part of the show!! Also definitely team Acis!!
I've been watching your channel since you had only a handful of videos and you're really coming into your style now. Love this look and the whole setup!
I really enjoyed this video, but I think Terra deserved better friends than the other characters in this series. Does Musa have a reason for why only Terra's negative feelings affect her so much? Musa mentions other people's emotions, but rarely ever cringes at them when they come from someone who isn't Terra. I'd also like to know why Sam feels so calm to her when he seems like a regular teenage boy. Does he meditate? Does he practice mindfulness? Does he have an intensely analytical approach to life rather than an emotional one? (I'm genuinely looking far an answer). For someone who feels other people's emotions, Musa seems extremely indifferent to them. She literally feels Terra's insecurity when she is trying to get changed and asks, "Do you want me to turn around so you can change? Is that what this is about?" What a mean and insensitive thing to say! Dare I suggest that Musa even seemed pleased with herself when Terra left the room with her tail between her legs after that. Terra is characterised as a chatter box that everyone else is always having to shut up. It's okay to ask someone for space, or to leave the conversation for another time, it's not okay to be rude or mean in the way you do it. When Terra starts explaining her struggle with trying to get closer to Dane, Musa makes no real attempt to listen and leaves to spend time with the boyfriend she's keeping secret from Terra. She doesn't even seem that invested in giving her input on Dane's feelings towards her later. A good friend might have pointed out that Dane literally used her to get brownies, and then ditched. Even when the other Winx help Terra with her make up they say condescending things to her. Bloom makes a half-hearted attempt to call Beatrix out for posting the fat-shaming video about Terra, but then Bloom accepts the excuse that Beatrix didn't actually *say* anything. No, she just made it all public for anyone on her social media to watch. Like that's any better. (To be fair, Bloom also decided to continue working with a girl who killed her own accomplice, so it's not surprising she would give up defending a friend in order to further her own selfish goals.) At one point, Terra tries to give Musa a speaker so she wouldn't be "alone" in her world. That was definitely invasive, but it looks like the other moments where Terra gets upset are because her friends are ignoring her, or they made as if they were going to hang out with her, and then bailed. I don't blame her for being lonely and awkward with a bit of pent up anger or resentment. Being insecure is definitely a character flaw that she needs to work out, but the other characters were dismissive and cruel, so I see why it would be hard for Terra to overcome these things.
Great video again Galatea! Hope you feel better mentally, I think most of us are struggling and if it helps your videos do make it better, I always get happier when I see that you posted 💕
Where the specialists are concerned re: who they are and what they do, it kind of depends on the dub of the animated show you watch. In the original Italian and RAI dub they're heroes in training with a dash of wizard stuff but the 4Kids dub just made them a military school with no wizardry in the curriculum
The whole world building only takes half the first episode of the original. It's rushed there, but at least it's there. Takes five minutes, parallel dimensions, fairies, specialists, witches, Stella's title, done.
I actually really enjoyed this programme (I know, I was surprised too). I don't think I've ever had to look past so many problems to enjoy a story but I just liked the vibe and the mystery of it, plus I had low expectations going in. I have also enjoyed you holding it to account though. :p Great video!
Winx was my childhood (together with W.I.T.C.H.) and I think it is really weird that they changed the characters and some powers here. Like, with a new plot and vibe and everything, the least you could do is keep the characters I think?
It's funny seeing people freak out about this bcs growing up in Albania ALL of the little girls watched winx and I had no idea people in "the west" even knew about it so. I thought it was safe. But apparently nothing is safe from the "let's make it dark, edgy, and live action" phenomenon...
As someone who was obsessed with the original show as a kid, I hate Fate even more. I love a fresh take on a classic. I love the darker tone. (knowing the kids that grew up on Winx are now about 20 years old). But man, they f****d up bad. Bad storyline. Bad writing. They absolutely butchered the characters. Stella in the original is really cool. She's fashion-obsessed, a total princess, but really sweet and bubbly. I hate they had to use the girl-likes-fashion-and-is-a-bitch stereotype. I only liked Musa and Sam, and even Musa is nothing like the source. So sad. Poor Stella.
omg, I just sat down this weekend and tried to watch it and I couldn't even get through 1 episode it was horrible. haven't seen ur video yet but I'm saving it for later I really wanna hear what u have to say!
When is the next instalment coming out? Please soon! I look forward to the next Galatea video more than the next episode of most actual TV shows I watch
I can't believe that Whitewashing is still occurring in 2021. I loved how in the original cartoon, each of the fairies were modeled after a popular 2000's starlet, so that its target audience could feel represented, and the diversity felt authentic. Stella is Cameron Diaz, Flora Jennifer Lopez, etc. Aisha is the only person of colour in the main cast, yet she's regulated to babysitting everyone else, and she gets arguably the least characterisation of anyone.
The butler from Downton Abbey, aka. Robert James-Collier, aka. Silva in this show is EXTREMELY talented and just like you said, he's way too good for this show. He's the main reason I kept on watching and the only reason I'm waiting for season 2. The rest is just, well... yeah.
I am so glad you decided to take on the Winx Saga. I have seen a few critiques but I wasn’t totally convinced by any of them. So good that you watch it from outsider’s perspective without having seen the older series. Your video is great and very entertaining as always. I look forward to seeing the next parts, so happy that you have much to say about the show. It is kind of ridiculous.
I enjoyed this so much xD and I agree, a lot. (Also I really disliked how easy it was for X to kill Y at the end, I mean, why? why was it needed to pull an "avada-kadava" on this show, because now if X doesn't kill other people as easily as they killed Y, then we KNOW its just because the plot needs them alive.) and I feel like that's the worst corner you can write yourself in. EDIT: Hope you're doing well as well! :D!
Dude I found your video just awhile ago and in my mind I was like "Hey you sound like Beatrix and have the same hair color!!" And then you talk about it in your video. Guess I'm not the only one ÙwÚ
3:30 It's possible that this show was created in a manner similar to Will Smith's infamous "I Robot". The script for that movie had existed, in some form, for years before there was any talk about basing it on Asimov's novel. When the studio succeeded in buying the rights to the novel, they ordered the film-makers who were working on the movie to base it on the novel the rights for which have just spent a bunch of money on, so the film-makers just changed a few names and added a few small plot threads to make the movie superficially resemble the novel, and they kept on going. It wouldn't surprise me to learn that this TV Show began pre-production before there was any talk about basing it on "Winx", and that the creators of the show did little more than rename some characters when that decision was made.
What annoyed me about Bloom sooooo much is that she constantly was being a hypocrite and overreacted to every little thing. She thought her problems were worse than others, and in the process hurt those characters by going after her desires. She was so emotional about "not knowing her real parents" and cried as if she was feeling loss constantly. But that's not realistic... cause she grew up with her mortal parents and love them, right? Yet she disregards that and makes it all about her and needing to know her real family. Which would be expected, but NOT TO THE EXTENT of totally blowing off her real parents, hurting all her friends and just being straight up rude.
Have I already seen the show myself and I hate it so much I never want to think about it again? Yes. Will I still watch this video just for Galatea? Maybe...
Literally all that millenials who grew up with the winx expected was a colourful, y2k fashion inspired fairy girl gang. We would have deserved that honestly
Feeling personally attacked because I lowkey liked the series despite its cringe and exaggerated edgy tone (and I was a fan of the original cartoon). Definitely not happy about the whitewashing (Musa and Flora deserved better) and I strongly hope they address it in second season, but I did find the tv series overall quite entertaining and fun to watch (some scenes cracked me up) lol
I actually love when you split your videos up. I prefer waiting in order to get your in depth thoughts as opposed to a video where you cut out too many things out to meet a 15-20 minute limit.
I had a personal internal and external breakdown when this show came out because WInx Club was one of my most favorite child hood shows and sometimes I still watch it today. Same with Ben 10 and if they made a live action of it and ruined it as bad as they did winx, I probably would melt into a puddle of nothingness. Winx Club has a very special place in my heart and Netflix ruined it and I will never forgive them for it.
So, going from my memory. The original Winx made a weird, but interesting, mixture of sci-fi and magic. Basically the Magical Dimension was just a galaxy and the Realms/Kingdoms were planets. There were spaceships but from what I remember they mostly traveled through portals. Stella, for example, is from Solaria a planet in a system that has three suns. They use a mixture of advanced technology and magic. In fact, technology can be manipulated by magic, Tecna (a main character that was written out) had such powers. By all intents and purposes they are all humans, or at least, human-ish; although there are other races like elves and leprechauns. Fairy is just a specific group of humans(ish) that use a style of magic; there are also Witches and Wizards. The Specialists in the original were infinitely cooler, they had things like laser swords and rode dragons. And they studied in a separate school called Red Fountain. Their job was basically being guardians, less edgy Witchers, if you will. Although their school also seemed to be just a place royal kids went to learn combat.
Netflix originals are so hit or miss. You get Fate: The Angst Saga with high-school writer tier dialogue and exposition at one end, and arguably one of the best shows ever made with some of the best character development and dialogue at the other (Dark).
I'm sure I'd laugh right with you in that scene. Kinda like I laughed at Darth Sidious lightning himself to death. It's like dude, you can stop any time, but the narrative is like, "No, this has to happen. It doesn't matter how dumb it is."
Still can’t believe they finally made a live action version of my favorite childhood show and took out the best part: the fairy transformations which the whole fucking show had been centered around!!! It’s so infuriating. I would prefer it had not been made at all if the creators lacked the budget. Without the transformations it’s just a girlier (or in this case plain, edgy, and unremarkable) version of the magical high school tropes, which we have in abundance, from Harry Potter to Monster High and Ever After High and The Descendants and God knows what else they’re pooping out lately. 🤬
The original show was soo much better it was about 6 roomates who learn to work together as bloom deals with finding out her personality and past, stella deals with divorced parents and wanting to be fashion designer when her parents expect her to be the perfect queen but her father still supports her nonetheless, flora deals with being too nice for the world and needs to stand up for herself, musa deals with her mothers death and how it effected her father, tecna with showing emotions, aisha(only season 1-3 and 7 cause season 4 made her just as horrible as netflix) was dealing with strict but caring parents and was independent and still wanted to save everyone. it was sooo cool! Everyone was awesome and had the best personality and dialogue and no info dumping! Also blooms backstory that her parents were killed by witches and her sister died saving her, while the witches descendants now are after bloom and her adoptive parents were soo good and NOT abusive! And the diversity was awesome musa was an asian and flora a latina and aisha a black person.( also flora and musa were my favourites and i always though flora as a latina was extremely pretty!! But what the hell was this terra, netflix clearly stated it was to hide whitewashing as she was originally casted as flora but then the name was changed.)
Literally outside of the "is it Winx Club or isn't it?" Debacle it's a terribly written show, utter garbage. And that is not even bringing up the fact they took out major fan favorite Characters replaced them with unlikable Characters and thought it was ok And not to be that person but the acting is not good its serviceable but not good in any way, shape or form. I also do not find any of the guys likeable or attractive and the fact they decided to have Stella act... like THAT? No no no.
You look SO much like that one girl I'm sorry 😭 I just got finished watching the last episode then immediately came here because I knew you'd made a video on it. She's like your evil twin. Anyway I did actually like the show but that's because I binge watched it all in one night while playing Sims 4 and just wanted something to have on in the background. I'd probably like it less if I was watching it properly lol
After a short operation Acis is doing much better and is expected to make a full recovery. Please respect his privacy at this time xx
Galatea: "Why would you compare me to a murderous villain?"
Also Galatea: "She almost burned her parents to death and left them with third degree burns! That's the funniest thing imaginable!!!"
hahaha I didn't even notice the correlation until people pointed it out
i find it kinda funny how you started this video with the statement that people have compared you with the villain, and then 17 minutes in get into a laughing fit at the main character turning her mother into a roasted marshmallow. correlation? possible.
a dark sense of humor speaks more of coping with big sad/scary concepts rather than of meanness, evil or what have you.

I hope you roast it well done to a crisp.
literally, Bloom was SO ANNOYING and did not deserve the friends that she had
@@theauthenticobserver absolutely, least of all Aisha. She was the first one to befriend her and help her. She was done so dirty.
i was so rooting for the teachers.
Free my Faegga she ain't do nuthin
I totally agree.
Not to mention they wiped Tecna's existence completely out😐
One of the worst things about the show was just how unbearable Bloom was as a friend. Literally every scene she had with the others, someone would be trying to talk about the problems they were having and Bloom would just cut them off.
"Yeah that sucks that you can constantly feel the pain of everybody around you and there's no way to stop it, but did you know that I don't know who my parents are?"
"Oh, you're having problems with your weight and body image making you feel like you're not good enough for anyone? At least you know how to control your powers."
It was never-ending, she was the most self-obsessed and uncaring friend I could possibly imagine.
Why not put more spells? Youre supposed to be advanced in magiv, wtf????
Tbh if I was the headmistress I'd too lie to this random 16 year old who just has to know everything. Bloom was so annoying.
I really hate how they treated Aisha, she was literally the one moping Bloom's never ending list of complaints and shit, saved her from burning everything few times and always was there and then - nah youre a bad friend. Aisha was the best friend from all of them, Stella was extremely mean to Bloom and Musa and Terra didnt even speak to her, they shared like 2 scenes. But no, Aisha is the bad friend. And in the end they were just "ah okay we love you again Aisha" because,,,,, she fought like everybody else??? even tho they were all on the same side against the burned ones??? ok sure
Yah I prefer the “World of Winx” bloom. They messed up her personality in this film. Ugh! I just wish writers would stay consistent
At the scene where Bloom almost burns her parents to death, all I was thinking was "Use your Mary Sue Powers wisely, my child!"
Like yeah i know it's fictional and they have to make up some shit on how to control magic but ??? you could have literally pick anything??? but no, angy = bad, happy = good
The fact you didn’t even watch the original show made this so much better than every other critique I’ve watched
How come? Because she'd be unbiased?
@@BleedingLiar17 she's able to judge the show as its own entity. It's hard not to when you've seen the original product.
@@BleedingLiar17 perhaps because she did her research and did not feel the need to highlight her love for Winx and her disappointment.

I laughed so hard at the "Bloom almost kills her parents" part, I think we are all collectively losing our minds tbh.
How could they have shown us that bloom can't control her powers and also has problems with her mom during her teens, if not by nearly burning them alive???? Don't you nearly kill your parents if you have an argument that maybe you should go outside and not sit in your room 24/7?

Why do british people in american shows sound so cringey?
Good question. I theorise that American directors ask them to 'Brit it up a bit, spit-spot!'
This is SO TRUE and I hate it. I always find it jarring when they speak even though we have THE SAME ACCENT
@@theauthenticobserver Just contrast it to the way people speak on british shows....way more natural.
They don't bother writing them well because the writers mistake having an accent for being a fleshed out character. 🙄
@@hiddenechoes Just like they did with Annabelle Wallis in "The Mummy" (2017), which is why so many hated her character there.

Galatea: For some unknown reasons people compare me to a villain
Also Galatea: *laughing uncontrollably* And she almost burnt her parents to death! Lol
The dialogue is so weird to me. Like why do the characters talk in weird metaphors and similes it's so unnatural?
Don't all characters in contemporary teen shows talk like that?
and another thing about the dialogue was the fact that some characters did a lot of references to 20-21st century earth but others didnt.
Exactly what I was thinking !! The comics were so great
THIS. THIS WITH ALL MY HEART!
The "outfits" are criminal at this point actually there is no "fit" whatsoever !

@@theauthenticobserver That mix makes me think "this is how a teenager would write adult content."
I can't help but wonder who their target audience is with this type of thing. If the writing is as bad as you say, it can't possibly be directed at oldschool Winx fans, because those people are in their twenties by now. Is it directed at teens? Because they wouldn't even know what Winx is.

Your makeup and background setup is mood
(To be fair, Bloom also decided to continue working with a girl who killed her own accomplice, so it's not surprising she would give up defending a friend in order to further her own selfish goals.)
At one point, Terra tries to give Musa a speaker so she wouldn't be "alone" in her world.
This channel should be renamed something like Galatea's Rants or Galatea's Revenge. Love it!
Great video again Galatea! Hope you feel better mentally, I think most of us are struggling and if it helps your videos do make it better, I always get happier when I see that you posted 💕
I can’t be the only one who thinks Acis(?) is cute!
Well said I hope they atleast make tecna Asian, move terra and place my brown latina flora in.

I laughed the whole way through this video. Your critique was spot on, and your delivery was hilarious as always.
The specialists are light elves...Sort of guarding the scool. Not well explained...huge plot hole there 🤔
I enjoyed this so much xD and I agree, a lot.

I’m so glad you decided to do a video on this disaster fire. I saw half of the first episode and experienced pain by cringe beyond measure.
Thank you for confirming this was exactly what I expected. Saved me from this bit lockdown desparation
Have I already seen the show myself and I hate it so much I never want to think about it again? Yes.
Will I still watch this video just for Galatea? Maybe...
oh man can't wait to hear your roast of Bridgerton.
Or maybe you'll surprise me and love it... we'll see.
Wait guys, wait! The show is just too big brain for us. Obviously it can't just be bad
22:30 isnt he also the guy who says 'shoosh' in the library in Miranda??? i'll always see him as that
The salt is going to give me cardiac arrest and I'm living for it
Literally all that millenials who grew up with the winx expected was a colourful, y2k fashion inspired fairy girl gang. We would have deserved that honestly
Netflix are like the grim reaper of adaptations. Like it or not, they’ll eventually do a reboot of every popular show/book.
I screamed at your reaction after the poor plant fell... what even is this video 😭
Oooh, can't wait for the other videos! Keep 'em coming!
I like how at 25:49 you're about to say "Acis dived headfirst", then you stop yourself
that's because that's the moment I noticed he was mortally wounded
@@theauthenticobserver oh, I thought it was a joke about diving "headfirst" when he was obviously never blessed with the power to dive feetfirst 😅
Thomas Barrow was in the Winx Saga? What a trippy crossover.
This odd witch interjected something in the middle of this video. Scary.
I have an announcement...
THEY MADE A NOVELIZATION OF WINX: A FATE SAGA
I SHIT YOU NOT.
That scene from The Inbetweeners lives rent free in my head
I was very much hoping you would cover Winx Saga and it didn't disappoint in the slightest! 😂
Literally outside of the "is it Winx Club or isn't it?" Debacle it's a terribly written show, utter garbage.
And that is not even bringing up the fact they took out major fan favorite Characters replaced them with unlikable Characters and thought it was ok
And not to be that person but the acting is not good its serviceable but not good in any way, shape or form.
I also do not find any of the guys likeable or attractive and the fact they decided to have Stella act... like THAT? No no no.
My mom is the queen
Come on, nobody would expose their very superior family background that way. That's stupid
wHERE IS THE 2ND VIDEO MISS QUEEN
You look SO much like that one girl I'm sorry 😭 I just got finished watching the last episode then immediately came here because I knew you'd made a video on it. She's like your evil twin.
Anyway I did actually like the show but that's because I binge watched it all in one night while playing Sims 4 and just wanted something to have on in the background. I'd probably like it less if I was watching it properly lol
Yay, a new video, and discussing one of my current favourite topics of ire....
