Hey Sarah although it doesn’t look that bad you can also try putting the middle one that’s near the outlet cut it in half whereas it’ll fall equal with the top of the outlet then cut another board and nail it evenly and be out there so that it will give you a illusion as if it’s one piece once again, thank you for your wonderful channel I always look forward to watching you and your new projects. 5:39 I don’t think anyone will notice. But if it bothers you, maybe you can notch out that spot in the board to go around the outlet. Not sure if it’s worth the trouble though. His room is going to look terrific!❤️

Put some artwork or something above the board and batten and the eye will be drawn up and won't notice the little difference.

Sweetheart, it doesn't look bad at all. You had no choice cause of that blasted outlet. I think once it's painted and his bed is over there it won't bother you so much any longer. It all looks nice. Maybe you can get a quilt or spread that highlights the sage for his bed and make that the focal point. xoxTXDeb

Sarah, I’m like you in that I notice things being uneven or different. I would space the left side the same as the right with smaller spaces. There will be a small section left at the left side. I would add little shelves in that corner and let him sit his little toys and such there.
Your other option would be to do bead board there and there wouldn’t be any need to divide it in equal parts.

I have an autistic toddler too. Our boys’ rooms look so similar. We have a green board and batten wall with his name in black along with pendant banners too. You’re doing great mama and I love how you are maintaining self care along with considering his needs. ❤

Why don't you cut one of your board and batten and pieces around your outlet so you have a piece on top of the outlet and a piece below it and you can kind of match it up with some narrow pieces on the sides of the outlet. I think that would solve your spacing dilemma
It’s a seam and an outlet but it’s totally fine the way it is honestly:)

I'd have never noticed. Honestly, after living in a 103 year old house where NOTHING is straight or even, Ive learned perfection is pointless.

It doesn't show the difference in the width of the distance between the boards. I know you are very aware of it but a person looking at it casually will not notice it.
