      True 101%. We know that they have always been unfair to Rubens and the reason is obvious. He succeeded Ayrton and they didn't want another Brazilian driver to kick their ass. Rubens is the man. True F1 fans know that. The rest are just ignorant or "in a mission"..

    In the past I watched footages of Jim Clark driving on wet, man, the guy was RIDICULOUSLY superior to anyone on track, his car was dancing, and I remember some driver after race saying something like 'if I have to drive like this to be a champ, a prefer not to be'. Then I watched Ayrton Senna, who I instantly recognized Jim Clark's 'pedigree', these two guys were the two absolute GENIUSES and MASTERS of wet driving.

      It is being told that Senna was a horrible driver on wet tracks back in his go-kart days so he deliberately went and practiced every time it was raining. Not sure whether it is a true story but this type of determination fits into his personality.

    What everyone remembers: Lap Of Gods: Senna P5 to P1 in a single lap,to win the race and beat the favorites,Williams.
    What not many people remember: Barrichello starting P12 in a uncompetitive Jordan,in a point of the race he was fighting for a place to the podium,only to retire 6 laps from the end because of fuel exhaustion.

    To me the best moment should be Interlagos 1991, where Senna drove last 8 laps in rainy conditions being first and lasting 6th gear working only. To any other pilot would had been impossible to govern 1200 bhp in the rain with 6th gear, he did and won for the first time in his home land. Excellent mastering.

    • @brolo7234
      @brolo7234 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The cars did not have 1200 bhp in 91, which was well after the transition to NA from Turbo.
      And the cars only ever had 1200 bhp in quali during the turbo era because quali didn't have the same regulations as it does now.
      They never had 1200 bhp in the race. That would have blown the engine.

    • @Luigi60-vj4px
      @Luigi60-vj4px 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      in 91 it didn't have 1200 hp... they had 1200 hp in 1986 during the maximum expansion of the turbo era and only in a qualifying configuration with engines that ran with turbo pressures of 5.5 bar!

    The best performance of all times was Senna's second place in Monaco with a Toleman in 84. A small team with a not so good car. If the race had one more lap he would have won. But it was suspended due to excessive rain.

      LOL, Senna and Hamilton in wet conditions?? Anyone betting on Hamilton better buy a lottery ticket. More chance of winning. Hamilton is okay in wet, but far from being great, except when he hits the right tire strategy. Which happened twice. But other than that, many drivers are better than him in wet. Which was pretty clear in Turkey 2020, when he was horrible during the wet phase, and only returned to the top after the track got dry again. If it kept raining he wouldn't have a chance.

    • @cinegraphics
      @cinegraphics 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      BTW, in Japan 2007 it was Kovalainine who made it from 12th place to 2nd place, in a much slower car. If he had a few more laps maybe he'd end up 1st. And even if he wouldn't Webber certainly would. As he was a lot faster per lap than both LH and Heiki. Fortunately for LH, Vettel took care of Webber, hitting him from behind and completely demolishing his car. So.... I'd say it was more luck than skill. But for Kovalainen it was definitely skill, jumping from 12th place to 2nd, ending only 8 secs behind LH. In a lot slower car.

They were very slight people, and didn't have the strength required to drive a F1 car for lap after lap, but when it rained, the cars were far easier to drive, lighter steering and less braking required, and that's when they could show their skill.
