Congrats and nice shooting Brantley. I've shot with you a time or two at Brocks Gap 2 gun and its cool to hsve found your channel and be learning from your vids.... I subscribed yesterday. 😊
@@brantleymerriam I was asking for competition shooting. Added weight of a light to reduce recoil. My glock 17 gen 3 has slide cuts which make it lighter. My gun only weighs about 27 ounces unloaded.
First off those were stellar runs very nice shooting.. I have a question, I never see you rack the slide or do a slide drop from a reload. Do you count how many rounds you’ve shot and just drop the mag with one still in the chamber always instead of going completely empty? And or do you just pre determine at what point in the course you will need to reload depending on how many targets you’ve shot?
Yeah for USPSA shooting it’s mostly advantageous to just reload (especially while moving) before you slide lock. Idk about other shooters but I don’t really count rounds I just do what you were saying and plan out when I reload based on the # of rounds per stage
Congratulations Brantley! seeing you run is truly a spectacle....and then with that GLOCK 17 you really impress me!! BTW what bullet weight do you use? 124 gn or 135 gn? greeting fron one italian fun
I didn't know this until running with higher speed dudes but there are dudes out there who can sense the shower cyclic rate of the bigger/heavier slide. After a certain point the reduced recoil and accuracy isn't worth waiting for the dot to come back down. I'm still pushing myself to be this visually quick to even comprehend this level of speed
Congrats man!!! Watching your videos helped me get from C to A class in a couple of months so thank you bro!
That's awesome man. Nice job putting in the work!
Could you make a video showing and describing your belt setup? Thanks Roll Tide

Congrats Champ!
Congratulations!!!
Great shooting! May I ask what all you have done to your g17?
Absolutely stunning, learning a lot from your videos. Their my homework 😂 you’ll be seeing me soon
Do you use any weighted guide rods? What lbs recoil spring?
I run a stock recoil spring.
@@brantleymerriam would you recommend using a weapon light or no weapon light?
Depends if you want to see things in the dark or with very little light.

Nah, the light doesn't do that much to help with recoil.

During a stage I plan out where I'm going to reload.
Congrats 🎊 🎉
What trigger upgrades do u have with your Glock?
Thanks man. Just a drop in Tactical Trigger kit.
@@brantleymerriam how about recoil spring?
@@jaylim6574 stock recoil spring

I really appreciate it man! This match I ran 115gr ammo but my normal go to is 147gr.
wow, those were really fast double taps !! what trigger system do you have on your g17? ❤
Why a 17 over 34?

@kevinjohnson3925 I actually think it's a Glock 45
17's are legal in IPSC. And I like the recoil better on them vs the 34.
