I didn’t even notice the key fall out when removing the tire so when I put everything together the mower obviously wouldn’t move. Thank you so much for this video. I changed my tire then the mower refused to move. I learned from your video that there was a key in the wheel that if lost, the mower wouldn't move. I searched the ground over where I pulled the tire off. Sure enough, I found the key. When I inserted it into the rim, the mower was once again able to move. Thank you so much.

Hi Theo, from what you are saying it could be. Check make sure blades not engaged or you may be in gear. Still the same? Before you pull the switch controlled by the pedal jump the switch under the seat. If it now stays running you have to change the seat switch. Let me know if this is of any help.
About 4:13 into the video next to the linkage you are freeing up is another linkage connected to the transaxle. On my tractor it isn't connected, can you tell me what that is?
iamroot, I looked over this video at 4:13 several times & cannot see the other linkage. I do not have this tractor any longer but will check my "boneyard" to see if I have a similar model to check out this linkage you are inquiring about. It may be a day or so, I am just backed up with some projects. Stay well, Joe Z
Thanks Joe, it is directly underneath the linkage you freed up. It has a spring and washer and goes through a hole of some other linkage. On mine the rod is going through the hole and I have lost the spring and washer. It seems to be be working fine, just wondering what I am missing. Also since you have a bone yard, do you have an extra seat? Mine is dry rotted. Mine is actually a Craftsman DTL3000 if that matters. Thanks in advance.
I have a craftsman gt5000 garden tractor with less then 100 hours . when it eas about 43 years old the you would be using it & after a little while it would just start slowing down till it stoped . let it set over night . & it would just do the same thing . can anyone please help
GFPRACING, I am not sure about the < 43 years old > if it is a typo? But I have had a similar issue from 2 different factors. One was a worn belt, it would run fine for about a half hour & then start to slow down. This was on hilly lawn. The second one, the transmission/transaxle had a little water in it. So it ran until it got hot then slowed to a stop, usually after a hour. Let me know if this is of any help or if you had any additional questions. Stay Safe, Joe Z
Joe my mower engine runs fine when I put it in gear their is a huge whine while its rolling? What you think it is? rolls fine cuts fine whines like hell tho. Thanks -Paw Paw
Hi Dan, I know I typed a reply a couple of days ago. Don't know what happened. The whining noise may be from one of the belt pullies. Hope it is not from the transmission. Is your transmission a hydryo?

My dot 4000 starts fine, with pedal in, but then kills every time I let it go back towards the seat ! IS THAT A NEUTRAL SWITCH PROBLEM?
That's awesome my friend! I like it :)
Thank you. Much appreciated. Stay well, Joe Z
My lawn mower goes in reverse and neutral but it's not catching and forward what could that be
Could be an adjustment in the linkage is needed.

I have a huskavanna LRH 125 will not go into gear
Do you have any idea what happened

I enjoyed your video fixing things. Have a great day. Full watched and like 4.

Is your transmission a hydryo?
these new ones don't have that any more
Thank you for watching & taking the time to add this information. I have seen a few without them but more often than
not I get these older ones to work on. As time goes on I am sure that will change.

Bad cable to the throttle mabe?
357 bullfrog, Thank You for watching and taking the time to comment.
At 3:53 in the video I point out how the bypass lever moves but the attached lever connected to the transmission does not. I used some penetrating fluid a crowbar & a couple of heavy taps with a hammer to free it up.

Fearlesspancake, Thank You for watching and taking the time to comment.
It was the head gasket and in the typical spot on the Briggs.

Sounds like a rod bearing going, at least that's what it sounds like on the poor audio of the video.
