Was really interested in this idea, so a friend and I tested it and made some tweaks. Still in progress, but we cut the lands down a little bit, and made some changes to the board to work in Call of the Death-Dweller and Doom Foretold, as well as making room for 2 more Giant Killers and one more Shepherd, and it's performed well. I also made room in the mana base for a couple Castle Locthwain instead of the Agadeem's because I was just never casting it, and they have done a lot of work. I've had some bad variance in my ladder testing so far, but I think it's performing well outside of the bad luck. Gonna keep tweaking it, having tons of fun with it and it does surprisingly well against gruul and dimir and such. Great vid Dev!

Been watching you for forever man and I always love your ideas and breakdown of the decks especially your grading of categories at the end. I agree with most of your choices. If I played the BW version, I'd play Kitesail Freebooter over Acquisitions Expert, but that's just me. I think the information of seeing the whole hand alone is better and usually they just discard either a land or something to help the RB Krox deck. I also love Angelic Ascension even though I don't see it played at all, instant speed to exile PW or C is pretty great and we can turn our own creatures into a 4/4 if need be and not having selfless or Alseid on the board, just another out to respond and also, we can with 5 mana exile their 4 drop with Skyclave and then get a 4/4. I also love runed halo because everyone knows what to name even if it's not out on the BF by turn 3 and it only gets better with multiple copies basically shutting down 16 cards in their deck, yes please. I actually replace the Aquisitions expecert in my monowhite version with Runed Halo, similar to discard because those card are now dead. Shepherd of the Flock is a very underrated card in standard right now. The amount of shenanigans ive done is awesome. Counters cards like Brazen Borrower or Giant (no target so whole card goes to graveyard), even for spot removal works as a counter outside of having to cast the card again from bounce.. Bounced back banishing lights that were going to get destroyed or had a Archon out in play and using Shepard as a blocker then bouncing it with another one in my hand rinse and repeat (stopped a 6/6 trampler in its tracks). The spiciest move yet is bouncing Emeria's call as a land back to my hand to make 2 4/4 angels. So good ;)
For anyone interested in consistent and competitive Modern Death & Taxes content, you should check out SpiderSpace on Twitch. Personally, I picked up the Modern mono-white Death & Taxes deck a few months ago to play on MTGO for a change of pace and honestly, for anyone who can feasibly do so, I recommend picking it up and giving it some reps and taking the time to learn the interactions. Spending time learning the lines and interactions with this deck moreso than any other decks I have played has really provided so much insight on Magic as a whole and really the way the stack works and can be abused. Have a great rest of your day, spread love, and be kind! Edit: Should probably also mention a streamer who has historically had great success with WB taxes variants -- check out OffbeatHero on Twitch as well! And for more homebrew lists of D&T that can still be competitive, check out EvilEmpireMTG on TH-cam for Derek and Jason's cooky antics.

Also, would Charming Prince fit in here? I could see use to the blink for removal or discard if things get hairy, scry if game goes late, it life gain while you try to beat Mono-R face. I don't know what I'd cut for it thou.
Seems like dev chose shepherd over prince for this deck, bc shepherd is instant speed and so protects creatures from removal, and also does the tricky interaction with skyclave apparition. I don't think the deck needs both either.
My favorite eternal formats are Canadian Highlander and Penny Dreadful. As others have said, these intros are sooooooo good. Keep being awesome Mr. Dev of The Place

Dope intro, and cool deck tech though even more than the last one, I'm a bit surprised that once again no Lithoform Engine. It's clunky yes but the value it generates is nuts, especially when you're playing to deny resources. Also poor Ziggy looked like we wanted some attention there pretty bad :(

Dude I tried to build a kind of orzhov D&T list myself earlier in the format. This one is much better, and I am for sure going to cash in a few wildcards and try this out. I do wonder if this is better at beating the rampant yorion lists than straight up Mono W, which is what I've been playing the most this season. In any event, I will say that whenever you make an aggro-control/tempo deck like this, I will be there.
Deck looks interesting! I'm thinking adding a couple of Village Rites could mitigate running out of gas a bit, while dropping one Acquisition Expert and one Emeria's Call. Also might replace a Temple of Silence with a plains. Should work, right?

I have the lasting impression that on average the deck scores have been really good the last year or so, which coincides with the ride in power level so sure the formats may allow for this, but I also think that You’re also just continuing to get better at crafting. This extrapolation and justification of the 1-of Elspeth is the kind of experimentation that I love to hear about, even though I’m not even on arena.
Alseid might be the right card over Selfless Savior because a lot of decks are moving away from destroy effects to exile effects but both cards are super good in the meta
You should do a historic build of this deck, u can run thalia and more hate bears from remastered, anthologys and jumpstart. Crads like aven mindcensor thalia, and knights of autumn make the deck so much better
Respond to your Apparition's Enter the Battlefield trigger with Usher to Safety. That way, the opponent won't get the token and you can still get removal for next turn.
I would really like to see a historic version of D&T. Thalia was printed in Historic Anthology and i imagine many other useful cards. The format is also much lower to the ground compared to standard, so Apparition is even stronger.

Exactly my thought! The Wingmare is a Flying Thalia for 1 more, without First Strike...but is better to use that Archon that's is more like Big Thalia which ain't used in Legacy's D&T??? :S
Could you please consider doing D&T in Historic? there are even more awesome hatebears like thalia herself, meddling mage etc. I tried tinkering with them, tried multiple color combinations but couldn't build it in a satisfying way. Maybe you could solve this puzzle
Love your videos but gotta say this deck just doesn't cut it. Played 10 games, faced most of the current meta choices got waxed in all 10. No late game answer...

Legacy d&t used to run the Fiend Hunter that makes you the monarch, which was pretty great card advantage as long as you could hold on to it.

I think Cling to Dust is better when playing against Rogues just to prevent them from benefitting from 8 cards in your graveyard.
