I remember reading that a good memory Tim had of his dad Tug was when they bought some tennis shoes and rackets and went down and played tennis together. That was emotional for me as my day and I had a lot of rough times but playing sports together was a bonding time and I'm grateful for the moments he spent with me and boy was I happy when I could beat him at tennis (LOL)
I remember when Tug came to my school for Father and Son Night in January of 1968. He spent that season at Jacksonville, then was back with the Mets for good in '69 until they traded him. Needless to say, I remember him well.
What a beautiful, touching story about one of my favorite country singers. I knew he was Tug's son, but didn't know the details. Thank you so much for sharing part of Tim and Tug's life.

I hate to tell you. I have always been beautiful. My mother was a hairdresser. And worked with models. And beauty pageants. Especially beauty pageants in North Carolina. She traveled esoecially to New York and Las Vegas. My father. Wss handsome. And college educated so was my mama. I grew up in a beauty salon which she owned in N C. I think i know a thing or two about beauty
