Wow, thankyou so much for posting this. You have inspired me so much, I have have boxes of blocks (ufo’s) many vintage (like me). I’m now going to pull them out and do projects like this. I like the look of modern quilts but haven’t wanted to waste my many traditional blocks plus It will be a fun way to practice my free-motion quilting.

Doesn’t the chalk come off when you load the quilt?
Yes it can. You can spray with best press to hold it place better. However, if loading on a longarm, we do suggest to put the powder on after loading.
I only have a front loader machine
Dawn dish soap doesn’t cause a problem? Most require HE soap
Dawn doesn't cause any problems. Its a very mild solution.
