  • In this video I go over how I cut my Stone (Quartz) Countertops to install a Drop in basin sink. The same process will work with any hard surface countertops.

Our last house was all custom and we had a beautiful and large stainless single bowl sink. Had to relocate for work and now have a “builders grade” house. Our sink looks a lot like the one you removed. I had been searching for a single bowl with the same or similar footprint to avoid cutting the granite countertop. One day walking around the local big box store I noticed the above mount sinks and gave me an idea to do this exactly. The video was a big help to visualize and also give me the confidence to take this on in the near future.

Great video, thank you. What do you think about installing the faucet before dropping in the sink? More cumbersome to handle the sink install, but saves you some work under the sink.

I’ve never tried it that way. Definitely more cumbersome to place the sink. Give it a go and let me know how it goes!

But how to fill it in? I moved to new home but cutout for the cooktop is bigger than what’s available in my city. Im talking about 10-20cm difference.

Dumb question, but there’s really no reason to sand or polish after cutting if I’m installing a top mount sink correct? I notice you didn’t, just making sure I’m correct in that assumption.

You made the same assumption that I did. Going to be covered so no reason to polish. Thanks for watching

Ok my wife will kill me if I get this wrong but I’m taking it head on. I can cut it without a wet saw ? I have the tools you used but I just want to be sure !!! I trust you 🤣🤣
