I'm building out my trailer all by myself and my dad and I watch your videos pretty much exclusively to figure out our next steps. I'm on this part right now, and I can't thank you enough for your hard work!
From one pro to another pro... I watched this video to review my own personal thoughts... I was interested to see what level of an electrician you are!!!! ha ha ha ha haaaa!!! you do a super good job of explaining the basics of typical wiring installations... The fact that you don't want to install the breaker box above your sink in your food truck is the "mark" of a conscientious electrician.. I agree to always avoid wet areas especially in the placement of a breaker/service panel... you got a great attitude!!!! Good job man!!!
Bro. your videos are awesome!!! I brought a step van and I'm trying to do some of the work, because I was quoted $80,000 + to build, I'm gonna save a lot by doing a lot of the work myself!!! Thanks for the videos!!!
I appreciate this. I'm just mounted my panel last night in the old camper that I'm converting into a coffee trailer and it's nice to have something to review to make sure I'm not missing anything
Ah man where were you a few years ago?? I had to get really creative in my first build. Eventually sold it now considering either buying prebuilt and spend a crap ton or watching your vids makes me want to try it again even better
My food truck is all electric. My oven is 240. I know I have to use the double break, what wire should I use to get 50 amps? Will I get power to connect my fridge, prep table, lights and warmer?
Does the 30 amp plug from the generator mean that we'd only want to pull 30 amps from the breaker box at a time, as in use only two 15 amp breakers in there? Im using two 30 amp generators, for now, to provide 60 amps for two coolers and a freezer, so wondering if I should put in two of these boxes.
I have a question about some floor mounts. You showed them in an earlier video. They’re used for the fryer caster to allow them not to move during transport. They’re blue and you mounted them to the floor trying to find them. I’d like to use them in my food trailer build.
Hi Frank p I run the number 8 wire from the panel box to outlet for the food truck 240amp but soon i hookup the plug from the food truck the fuse blew up ,
Hey boss I love your videos in fact I've been wiring up a lot of food trucks and trailers lately My question is if you have power coming from another main panel essentially what's your installing on the food truck or trailer is a subpanel could you simply run too hot and a neutral and then use a ground bar for example in the NEC for a separate structure you must isolate the grounds and neutrals but have a separate ground bar for a garage what are the sub panels located

Thanks for these videos Frank! I bought a trailer to convert for a shaved ice trailer and it already has metal walls and ceiling installed. I have to add the electric and plumbing. Can you use wiremold channeling for inside wiring or should I try and remove the walls and reinstall over wiring?
@@fbaltierrez awesome thanks I plugged it in and nothing happened, I gotta double check my work:) just wanted to rule out not enough amperage Thank you
Do you have a part 2 to this? This was super helpful man. I'm not understanding how to separate wires for interior or exterior lights off of one circuit/swith. Or how you ran the fridge and exhaust fan off one circuit breaker. Thanks I'm planning on starting my build but using a short bus! Thanks!
Hi mate ! I’m in ozzy so I have 240volts I’m running a 2500watt coffee machine. The machine works fine on regular power at home however the machine running on the generator it almost makes a sparking noise when pouring a coffee sounds nasty ! I was wondering if it might be that the power cords are to small ? The other appliances are fine .
I have a question about that green ground wire on the outlet box… where would you connect that to? If the service line is connected to the breaker box and the ground is connected to the ground bar, I would imagine the ground wire is connected to the outlet, which then gets connected through the 30 amp wire wire going to the generator. Is that ground wire dangling fro the outlet box used for another application provided you are not hooking it up to a generator? Also, I picked up a Westinghouse generator that says “neutral bonded to ground”. What does that mean and is that ok for food truck operation? This is my final piece to my electrical research. Thanks!
You can connect a ground wire to the box that's what the general rule is when wiring the call it a pigtail. Or you can always send a dedicated ground to the outlet but thats usually used for like dryers or appliances and main house ground.
@@fbaltierrez hi frank im the process of making my electrical panel.. can i use diffrent brand generator outlet box 50 amps?reliance is very expensive for my budget..thank yoi

If I connect both conductors to the box in order to utilize all the spaces, do I need to connect both conductors to plug (x & y)? If not, which conductor should be connected to the plug?
11:35 I’m unclear on where to put the service cables neutral and ground wire. Are you saying the neutral goes in the large screw to the right above the neutral bar then the neutral wire goes into the smaller screws on the neutral bar under the large screw? I’m sorry I was just unclear on that. Also, you’re videos are awesome! Thanks for posting!
The main neutral wire coming in from Main line goes to the screw that is with the neutral bar and all the individual neutral wires feeding outlets and switches go to the smaller screws underneath it
@@fbaltierrez Thank you for your help, I appreciate it! If you get time I do have one last question. What do you do with service cable’s ground wire? Again, thanks for your help.
I don't need to get a copper rod to ground it to the floor right? I can just ground it to the box like you said. Ive had a lot of people tell me I need a copper rod stake to ground my breaker box properly but I figured if all my outlets are gfcis It shouldn't be a problem grounding it to the breaker box.
Nowhere to put a copper rod on this application. Those are only used in residential, commercial applications you have to bury those in the ground 8 feet deep.
