Your a great mechanic and very knowledgeable. I just yesterday had the pleasure of meeting you and I was more than impressed with the work you did for my Father in law Charles (Doug). Being in the auto body industry and a backyard mechanic I can appreciate the time and effort it takes to restore his 1940 JD GP hood the way you did. Thanks for the time you spend on your videos helping others. It was an honor getting to meet you. Thanks, Bill
Thanks Bill, It was good to meet you too. Hope you and Charles and Bruce have a good time playing with the two cylinder tractors. I do have to give credit where it is due though as my son Quentin was the one that painted the hood. I thought he did a good job too.
I have a 38 B and have trouble starting it ,more overly knowing I’m not flooding it. I do a similar procedure and usually get one or two fires . Maybe I’m leaving the choke on too long . I will try turning it off after the fires.

The model b is one of my favorites
Most don't have petcocks. I found a little higher octane helps with the initial startup.

Nice B. Oil pressure is a little low and it looks like the wrong carb. Choke should be down not up. The newer ones are that way
Cool video, nicely done.
Well done
You forgot to mention the compression release petcocks. It can not be started without opening them. Nice tractor restoration.
Yes it can
My 37 B has no petcocks.
My 52 BO Starts well with the petcocks closed.
Hmmm, nice, I just had to get a new mag as well.

It will start easier if you leave the throttle lever on idle or just a hair up from idle...... No more than that.
It may look good, but it doesn't run anywhere near as good as mine do
