At 13:12, come on, Gene! "The way it was" was a part of Walter Cronkite's sign-off on the CBS Evening News for DECADES. "And that's the way it was." Sheesh!
@@greglauer I believe he said, "[...] and that's the way it was" when he signed off on the Bicentennial Minutes he did, at least part of the time. There was also the "and YOU were there".
Richard's explanation of the sports show "The Way It Was" was legit. The host that Gene couldn't remember was Curt Gowdy (whom Gene should have remembered from his NBC Radio Monitor days).
Not a single mention from anyone on the show or in the comments about how Isabel and Fannie Flagg are both from Birmingham, AL and sound pretty similar.
Short week but here are the results: Richard gave away the most money at a total of $5,500. Charles also gave away $750. Richard won for the most matches as well at a total of 6. Charles matched 5 times, Gary, Brett, and Eva all matched 3 times, and Joyce matched twice.
This story about episodes 1024 to 1030 missing because of Adam Arkin refusing to release them doesn't make sense. He wouldn't have been on 1024 and 1025. I wonder what really happened.
@@private825 episode 1024 I have seen it on youtube. can't find it right now. so hilarious that she just asked to touch Dolly Parton breast. I love Eva
Burghoff has brain freeze from too much frozen yogurt. Shameful that he didn’t actually try to match contestant at critical time. Wanted to try for a blanking joke instead.
Baltimore Z-Wad they are skipped because Adam Arkin didn’t clear his appearances. 1024-1025 are on the tape with 1026. So GSN skips it instead of converting the episodes!
@@MatchGameProductions Well I guess thank you to all the host and stars for clearing their appearances and MGP for posting these episodes so we can enjoy them after all these years. Threw me this morning when GSN jumped to 1031, I really wanted to see the rest of Eva's week, they seem to have been having some fun with her around. I wonder why Adam Arkin wouldn't.. I guess we will never know why now..
Well at least Adam Arkin went on to become a giant nobody that I wouldn't even know existed if not for the fact that he screwed me out of seeing the rest of this week's episodes. Eva Gabor is frickin adorable 😡
It's 2022 and I still haven't forgiven Gary Burghoff for his stupid, unfunny, self-serving, "cockroach" answer. Harold was such a nice guy - I so wanted him to have another chance at the big money. *sigh*
Gene oh Gene... Cup A or cup B, kinda being nosey there aren't you...lol Night school ... your "radar" sure screwed that up😠 Isabelle looks maybe 18 but if memory serves ... you have to be 21 to be on a game show. Ithercwsy she's young ...but @ my age ...everybodies young😢
Gary could have been more subtle about knocking that contestent out. Knight was clearly the answer, he could have atleast said jousting instead of some off the wall answer.

That was too bad that Match Game ended after Gene Rayburn poked out a contestants eye with his extra, extra long microphone handle. After that, all tv US stations banned long skinny mics handles and went to clip on mics or shotgun mics for contestants..
I just love Eva she was a gem on Green Acres also
Eva is so sweet. Even she hugs the winner.
She was quite different than zsha zsha (however you spell it). Zsha zsha was more arrogant.
@@sharcrum ZsaZsa was often on german television. She always was very nice and funny and not arrogant.
@@sharcrum I think ZsaZsa was more than Eva. Idt she was arrogant at all but may have been perceived as such
Hard to believe Eva was 58 years old; what a babe!
Eva looks BEAUTIFUL in that outfit! 😍
Brett always looks GREAT in orange! 🧡
Eva was stunningly gorgeous 💯💯
Eva, yes. Brett, not so much. Old hag.
ROFL!! Another good episode, and Richard seems somewhat happy this week as kidding around Eva..
He should be he is sitting next to a beautiful sexy funny lady, she could make anyone 😂
I thought knight was a shoe-in
Then Burghoff screws it up with a lame joke
And it wasn't even funny.
Yeah, that poor dude didn't stand a chance of matching 6 celebrities. The panel consists of 2 morons on the top rank and 2 morons on the bottom.
Gary isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer.
That is what I thought
Thats what i just said. He does so many stupid things on the show just to get attention. All the time too. It was nice not having him on for a while.
'Tune in tomorrow' I HOPE ep 1024 gets posted.
At 13:12, come on, Gene! "The way it was" was a part of Walter Cronkite's sign-off on the CBS Evening News for DECADES. "And that's the way it was." Sheesh!
I was thinking the same thing but I was wondering if it was too early for Cronkite sign off.. ;0) Must not be the channel he watches for news.. ;0)
The quote is, "And that's the way it is..." not "was".
I stand corrected. I was very young when WC signed off for the last time and should not have trusted my memory.

How nice of Richard to always sign the winning card for them.
Richard was always doing his best for the contestants
I think Richard was the only one to sign the cards for the contestants.
@@scottm.franklinnc7942 No, not just Richard as I've seen Eva Gabor sign the winning card too. When Eva Gabor matched the contestant for $20,000.

Ever notice how goofy Gene gets when he’s around a fairly nice looking woman?
Have you seen Genes wife?
excellent impersonation of Charles , Gary
His impersonation of Charles have always been good
I’m sad that most of these people are no longer here.
ME, too!! 😥😢
He said cochroach on purpose and made thre poor guy lose the game. Just so he could get a laugh
And no one laughed. That was a stupid answer.

@matchgameproductions what happened to Episodes 1024-1030...?
The second King Kong/Empire State Building/Tinkle question in a couple of weeks.
1:17 "who did you study with, Gary?"

Thank you. I hope all the Richard haters take notice.
Someone PLEASE find Eva Gabor's chest on #1024!
That question reminds me that they haven't had a Euell Gibbons question in YEARS!
That is because he passed away in 1975. Assuming out of respect they stopped the questions
I just noticed since you mentioned it. I actually like Grape Nuts.

why would he have the decision about release?
Dang it...even with Brett and Gene trying hard to give the right answer to everyone (9:25 - 9:29)...
Gary blew the answer on purpose, so the blond would win. He actually did that many times. I never did like him.
It was a very New Testament oriented crowd they had that day and they said, "The Way, the Truth, and the Life". Put THAT in your pope and smike it.
