A remake of "A Star is Born" with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson came out in December 1976. 42 years later another remake is popular now, and that answer is relevant again.
Andy Griffith, A Star Is Born, Lion Tamer, Helen Reddy, Suzanne Somers, and others I can't think of! Man the audience is good with coming up with the top answer for the audience match

A couple of episodes ago they showed a cameraman and the light board they used for the opening. I didn't know it was that big. I thought it was small like the Price is Right light board.
I'm always surprised that on a daytime show with a predominately housewife audience the hunky looking male contestants in an entire year you can count on one hand.
I forget which year they changed it to an earlier time slot (not in 1977), but it was originally a late-afternoon show that attracted an after-school crowd, especially from high school, as well as workers just home from the day shift (typically ended at 3 pm), as well as housewives. But yeah, more good-looking guys would have been a plus.
I was wondering if they move of the side camera for the Super Match or used the back camera for it. I would have love to gone to see a taping just to see what happens behind the camera during taping and during commercial breaks.. Love see these..
Gene berating the audience. He doesn’t realize he wouldn’t have a show without them. He probably thought he was being funny but the audience probably didn’t feel that way.
First Super Match, part 1: (if asked before Fannie) FIRST (if asked after Fannie) A STAR IS Part 2: CROW Smith-Nevurovski, round 1, question A: "You know, when she gave that answer, I thought she meant like, 'Hey, your wife may be ugly, but mine's a complete dip'… No, actually he wound up with a PURE-BRED GERMAN SHEPHERD; there was a breeder there who wanted to branch out into rottweilers, you see." Buzz was a total crackup.
Sweet guy.

seeing Richard just stringing this poor girl along with the Route 66 answer...
10:15 Nobody born prior to the 1980s (or so) is going to get the reference to “snow” in the context of over-the-air television.
Yup I haven't heard that term in decades.
Haha, in Britain, White Lightning is a cheap cider. Its only purpose is to get people drunk very quickly.
In the southern U.S. it’s also another name for moonshine 😄

Hilda is a lovely contestant!
So sweet. I happy she won.

Maybe it seemed too boring. I bet the process was a hassle. You probably had to sit around waiting a lot. And lots of people didn't win any money.

Watch his marker. It's very obvious Richard is writing "66".
For us! But how should she watch with her back?
16:00 if I was Gene I would say to Brett One of these days Brett One of These days!
GREAT EPISODE!
17:30 That was pretty generous of the judges, allowing Richard’s “Route bb” to match “Route 66”.
😂
Damn, I always get the the $250!
15:25 "NEVER*DOUBT*THE*COOKIE"
The way one contestant would get a very hard to match question and then the next a very obvious one is rediculous.
Luck of the draw.
John Wayne once said "it's gettin to be re~god~damn~diculous.

TV snow probably wouldn't occur to younger generations.
i think a round 1 and round 2 question got switched.
Route 66 was written by Bobby Troup from the TV show Emergency
Not the one they are referring to. Bobby wrote the theme to the TV show
A rag and bone man!
Nice outfit for Gene.

They seemed to enjoy the banter.
Gene was just having fun with the audience, he does that on every show

richard's root canal joke doesn't make sense and I'm surprised the contestant fell for that.
Maybe playing off Gene's saying route which sound like root or it did to me which I guess is why he said the other way as well. Don't know thou..
Could have easily screwed up the spelling so
Has anyone seen the episode that Betty is talking about at the end of the video at 2:50?

Well actually, Wire Hair Terriers go for $1K - $4k...so...

An eternal Bzzt in your general direction. I am sure past contestants are happy that you were not a Match Game panelist.
Forever Fernwood lasted 1 Season.
Mary Hartman was awful too. And the horrible theme song.
