Flying Without Wings is a boyband CLASSIC and possibly the greatest boyband ballad out there, imo. For a change of pace tempo wise, I recommend, 'When You're Looking Like That' & 'Hello My Love'. Both absolute BANGERS. Also you should check out their version of 'You Raise Me Up' & their cover of 'Against All Odds' with Mariah Carey!

'Flying Without Wings' makes me tear up every time. A beautiful song with a beautiful sentiment. So happy you're reacting to Westlife. You might want to react to BBMak. They're British and came out during the boyband craze of the '90s. What makes their group different is that there are only three of them, and they wrote most of their songs. They broke up amicably in 2003 after only 2 albums. I recently found out they reunited in 2019 and released another album. You can also find them doing acoustic sets, which shows how genuine their harmonies are. Their first hit was 'Back Here'. After that, pretty much every song on each album is lovely, imho. 98 Degrees is another group you might like as well.

@AJB3 I did the math actually and they managed to have more time in as a group without Brian and they did with Brian. They just happened to pack a lot of hits into a short amount of time that he was there with them
@AJB3 3 soloists were always one too many and like you said, they hardly sound different. Personally, I've never missed him, but I wasn't a fan of his voice to begin with. Like he was good, but not THAT good.

There's some cool videos of Westlife and Boyzone performing together which you should check out sometime. Also McFly are a classic mid 2000s boyband from England who have some great songs as well, underrated in the US for sure. Busted were very similar but at least year 3000 made it across via the Jonas Brothers.

Love Westlife and I don't think they were/are really a boyband, their vocals are far better than most, they are a group of very talented singers (bands like NSYNC and a Backstreet Boys although good singers were more about their looks and style, Westlife are all about their singing). Glad you started with their very first single that went straight the number 1 here in the UK. I love their Love Album, covers though they make them their own. Their version of The Rose, The Dance, and All Out Of Love (ft. Delta Goodrem) are ones you have to check out. Also you have to check out their version of You Raise Me Up and Queen of My Heart. Great reaction to 4 great songs, keep them coming, oh and I can see a reaction to these guys live, you won't be disappointed (as you weren't when you reacted to them live before I believe).
I agree! Westlife’s vocals are on a higher level compared to other boybands. I’m not saying that the others are bad but these guys have vocals for life
Boyzone were actually before Westlife, they were set up as an Irish version of Take That in the early 90s, Westlife are late 90s onwards. I think Ronan Keating of Boyzone (and solo fame) co-managed Westlife when they first became famous with Louis Walsh, they were signed to their record label by Simon Cowell of X Factor fame.

I think Boyzone had just about finished when Westlife hit the charts. Ronan Keating was still going on his solo career, but I don't remember them ever being in the charts at the same time, maybe there was a small overlap. I don't think Ronan would have been able to co-manage them whilst being in a band at the same time, he was moving on from all that.

@@wereleopard58yepihavetwo2 Ok, fair enough, but I think Boyzone were on the decline when Westlife first hit the music scene. I also don't really see the two bands as the same type anyway, except they were all male bands, so comparing them is a little pointless in my opinion. I have liked both for different reasons, one for being a fun band with charisma and some good songs, the other more for their vocal ability. Boyzone were a lot more manufactured and I think two of the members were more dancers than singers and didn't really don't at all except the backing vocals. All of Westlife could sing and sing well. I know their early stuff was boyband like stuff, but I always thought they were proper singers in their own right, not just a group of lads thrown together to look and act cool. Sure Ronan and Stephen could sing but the rest of them were just there to get the girls interested and look good.
Not as good as Take That in my opinion, too many covers, however I was older when they came out..my fondest memory was the resemblance Mark has to my youngest son, my son was in the RAF at the time and all his mates called him marklife..he was so missed when Mark announced he was gay..lol...not that he has any prejudices but for a young guy who was HEAVILY into girls, it caused a few laughs...😁😁

I think Ronan Keating of Boyzone (and solo fame) co-managed Westlife when they first became famous with Louis Walsh, they were signed to their record label by Simon Cowell of X Factor fame.

@@wereleopard58yepihavetwo2 I remember both Boyzone coming onto the scene, when I was at uni, and Westlife, when I was starting my first job. I think Boyzone had just about finished when Westlife hit the charts. Ronan Keating was still going on his solo career, but I don't remember them ever being in the charts at the same time, maybe there was a small overlap. I don't think Ronan would have been able to co-manage them whilst being in a band at the same time, he was moving on from all that.
@@mattpotter8725 They had albums out in 98 and 99. They also did the comic relief song in 99. So, they did overlap. But hey the main thing is i enjoyed them. I did prefer them to Westlife.
@@wereleopard58yepihavetwo2 Ok, fair enough, but I think Boyzone were on the decline when Westlife first hit the music scene. I also don't really see the two bands as the same type anyway, except they were all male bands, so comparing them is a little pointless in my opinion. I have liked both for different reasons, one for being a fun band with charisma and some good songs, the other more for their vocal ability. Boyzone were a lot more manufactured and I think two of the members were more dancers than singers and didn't really don't at all except the backing vocals. All of Westlife could sing and sing well. I know their early stuff was boyband like stuff, but I always thought they were proper singers in their own right, not just a group of lads thrown together to look and act cool. Sure Ronan and Stephen could sing but the rest of them were just there to get the girls interested and look good.
Not as good as Take That in my opinion, too many covers, however I was older when they came out..my fondest memory was the resemblance Mark has to my youngest son, my son was in the RAF at the time and all his mates called him marklife..he was so missed when Mark announced he was gay..lol...not that he has any prejudices but for a young guy who was HEAVILY into girls, it caused a few laughs...😁😁
