I just heard Nomad 1.65 will allow for importing textured Procreate models back into Nomad for rendering - so hopefully soon I can do a Procreate to Nomad video ;)
@southerngfx just put up a good tutorial video today you could check out, but it's pretty simple really... Decimate your mesh, then go to AutoUV under the geometry menu. You need Nomad 1.62 or higher for this to work (it may only be on iOS currently?)
Sorta. You can bring it back into Nomad for lighting and rendering - and I highly recommend you do! But you can't really modify the textures once back in Nomad, though you can tweak the geo so long as you don't remesh.
It's a modified version of the standard brush. Nothing complicated really. I've got a short video on my channel specifically about how I made the brush.
It's just a simple "from scratch" brush with pressure mapped to opacity. I may need to do some Procreate focused videos sometime and go iver basic brush stuff.
I have yet to be impressed by Forger unfortunately. If it only had the renderer capabilities of Nomad, it might be worth bringing Procreate models back in to light/render, but it is sorely lacking in that area too.
New subb. How long did it take you to comfortably navigate nomad and create something like this? I'm just starting and loving the nomad and procreate tag team!
Thanks for the sub! It took me a few projects to really settle in to a comfy workflow. The voxel remesh workflow is very similar to Blender's sculpt workflow-so having a familiarity with that definitely helped!
Hey, this is a quick question but by Procreate never lets me free paint on the model like how you do, do you have to do anything specific? (I don’t have an Apple Pencil)
Unfortunately there is yet to be an Android solution for texture painting models. I'm not sure Nomad for Android has the texture support? Armor Paint is out for iOS and Android, but it's not really well developed yet for mobile platforms
Hmm. If it opened in Procreate, I assume that means it has UVs. Make sure you are on the color layer and not roughness or metallic, make sure you have a noticeable color and are not using the eraser. If you are still having trouble, you might watch @SouthernGFX 's latest video he starts out AutoUVing a sphere in Nomad and takes things a bit more step by step
I got the same issue yesterday, I update iPad os to 15.1 then the problem resolved .I can paint now on UV surface. Also once you created a uv do not modify the model, otherwise UV will not export. But it is not too much trouble You just have to create UV again then export.
COOL!!... I was wondering though why you didn't, when working on the eyes, you didn't go into the Brush Editor and like Really Turn Up the Gloss/Shinyness of the Brush The Eyes would have looked SOOO Alive and... Shiny in the pupil for the Highlights, and the Iris Color lines and shines..... Just wondering if you even knew you could do that???
Yeah- I'm definitely aware of the ability, but I was shooting for more of the look of the show where highlights are handpainted and not necessarily shiny/metal. The show seems to mix handpainted highlights with npr shader stuff. Would love to know more specifics about the techniques they are using :)
What a splendid afro! Heimerdinger would be proud.
Lol thanks!
I Love these nomad to procreate videos! Please make more!

Really Good!
Now if procreate adds symmetry that would be epic. Great work!
I heard that its not a planned feature. But maybe if enough people start begging for it?
@@eric3dee I am chatting Livestream with procreate now, they said it's planned but technically very difficult. 🤞👍
@@mvz Oh wow! That's fantastic news!
That is awesome! Bob Ross is a legend and you have done a fantastic job of capturing the essence and look of the man himself!
Thanks! I watched the recent documentary about him a couple months back. Really amazing guy.
YOU ARE ON FIRE MAN😱😱😱❗❗❗❗I LOVED IT AND YES, HE SHOULD BE ON VIDEO GAMES!!!
Haha wouldnt that be great!
@@eric3dee That would be fantastic!! Even you could make your own game characters and make a game! You got potential!
this was fun to watch. do you ever experiment with controllers to help you flow?
Great work! So cool we can do this all on the iPad.
Again, amazing stuff.
Would love to see a vid of Nomad basics and tips and tricks.
I will try to do one of those soon
Super great job.. I love the result..💪
So cool!!! Thanks for the video. Very inspiring
Thanks!
That is fantastic.
Thanks!
Second view, but first like…you’re welcome. Anyway, it’s a great day in Nomad Land! 🚀🍺🍺🍺🎩 Nice paint job.✌️
Thanks as always for your kind words John!
@@eric3dee …& Bob has gorgeous eyes.
@@johndeggendorf7826 lol!
Love Bob Ross! Awesome sculpt! Might have to 3D print and paint it.
Do it! I'd love to see that :)
Allways so impressed by your skills and style.. Thx so much fort sharing and inspiring.
Thanks for the kind words!
Im so happy i found u. I love your artworks and i also love your voice. The way u talk is idk satisfying 🙈
Haha thanks-I think I sound pretty nerdy myself, but hey it's what I got :p
GREAT JOB!
Thanks!
Amazing job love it.... 👍
could you explain more about how you set up Uv in nomad? Thanks great tutorial

Wow, I have just sold my laptop due to its size and age. Im still figuring how to sculpt without Blender, now I know :D
Procreate and Nomad really make an iPad an amazing pro-level tool. It can't do everything Blender does, bit what it does do, it does well!
Can you import it back to nomad with the textures, sculpt again, then go back to Procreate and so on? I wonder how efficient and smooth the process is
Sorta. You can bring it back into Nomad for lighting and rendering - and I highly recommend you do! But you can't really modify the textures once back in Nomad, though you can tweak the geo so long as you don't remesh.
Yo bro recently got into 3D art and I’m wondering is the SharpBrush that you use necessary for this look? And where can I find it?
It's a modified version of the standard brush. Nothing complicated really. I've got a short video on my channel specifically about how I made the brush.
In the sketching tab in brushes, I couldn’t find the untitled brush you were using to color Bob’s eye brows.
It's just a simple "from scratch" brush with pressure mapped to opacity. I may need to do some Procreate focused videos sometime and go iver basic brush stuff.
@@eric3dee Which section is the scratch brush from? Inking, Sketching…?
@@NeoDuckyX the multi-line one I use in the hair? That is under inking and called Thylacine I believe
That’s great, as I had try to play a bit forger. But It looks not quite user friendly.
I have yet to be impressed by Forger unfortunately. If it only had the renderer capabilities of Nomad, it might be worth bringing Procreate models back in to light/render, but it is sorely lacking in that area too.
@@eric3dee I don’t even rotate an object in 90 degrees on forger🤫

Not quite sure what you may be doing wrong. Pencil shouldn't be required. Perhaps your model isn't UVd?
question: I got an android device and with Nomad on it. However, procreate is not on android. Is there a good alternative that would work the same?

@@eric3dee thnx!
I tried doing a sphere to procreate, very simple, but I can't color or draw on it, what's wrong, can you tell me?
