DBD TV will just get revived as DBD TV Super and we'll have endless discussion in the comments about how Lance's character has changed dramatically since the original.
Mr. Satan's Bu obsession would be warranted if the writers established that most of his relationships with other people were based on his status, not his actual character. In this hypothetical scenario, Bu could have been framed as genuinely liking Mr. Satan, unlike most people in his life, which would only tolerate him for their own self-interest. Again, this is a simple thing (even a little ciche), but it is at least something.
I think Team Four Star was setting that up with Cell's verbal beatdown of Mr. Satan. "Do you have any actual friends? Any relationships at *all*, that aren't about your money or your position?"
"There was no need for filler as the manga was over and there was no fear of catching up" Tell that to Naruto's final never-ending stretch of episodes.
Wow, it's hard to believe that this is not only the last DBDTV, but the last Dissection of manga-based material at all. That said, I am *very* excited to see your coverage of GT!
I think the Boo-Satan thing makes much more sense if you treat Satan as the loving father person he is with protective traits (with lots of issues, sure, but that doesn't erase that part of his personality, it modifies), and Fat Boo for being essentially a child mind who had no one to teach him any better, which Satan quickly recognizes. Sure, Boo threatens him at first as he doesn't know any better, but then he teaches Boo to be better. And he in that moment worries more of Buu. Videl is strong, stronger than him, physically and mentally. Boo only has one of those, he was neglected and mentally abused enough by his former master, and he has only just began his process, making him mentally very vulnerable unlike his body, and so he require higher hands on care (plus she is with the people who actually beat Cell, and he knows they're the real deal). That is why Satan tears his picture. He feels guilty over lying to Boo and taking advantage of his mental simplicity and vulnerability, just like everyone else did to Buu, instead of doing what he believes is right; to be honest with such a person, and actually teach him, giving him the help he clearly needs. To him, taking advantage of someone in that position is very different from simply lying and posturing to grown adults who should be able to call out his obvious bs, who believe him just because that feels easier. This sort of pays off too, as we see this is exactly what he does together with Buu in the following years, episode 289 i think. Sure, "he" keeps deceiving via cheesing the tournaments in the following years, but it is with Buu's consent to participate in the scheme, Satan doesn't take advantage of him. They're together in it, they're partners. And the dog.
What a journey! Thank you so much MistareFusion for showing us so much detail, so much thought, fascinating insights and most of all details I had NEVER known. I feel like this show truly reached it's goal of dissecting Dragon Ball, while keeping it entertaining and interesting. I'm looking forward and dreading Dragon Ball GT, but above all that I know it will be entertaining and interesting to watch! Thank you for this enormous body of work.
Interestingly enough, the Westwood Ocean dub of DBZ has Brian Drummond (Vegeta’s VA) do a Goku impression for Vegetto. It’s pretty good imo, it does a good job differentiating the types of fusion.
Honestly, that's my favorite idea for Potara. The sorta idea I get from it (not sure if it's quite 100% accurate) is that one, stronger personality ends up taking over, hence the voices not doubling up on the Kaio-shins and, on that chain of thought, Vegetto would be mostly Vegeta (hence his name taking priority, as well as using Kakarot instead of Goku)
I do wonder if that was more of a cost-cutting solution rather than keeping consistency with the other potara-fused characters, considering they also cast a solo VA for Gotenks; just using a filter for the dual-voice effect.
A genuine thank you for this AMAZING series! Been watching for years, since before Cell. You, Abridged and Xenoverse are what got me into Dragon Ball, and therefore art, so I can't thank you enough! If only you were covering GT.
15:08 I think the filler people fleeing Piccolo is because he looks like a big green monster, not because he was Piccolo Daimao, or even the Piccolo that was in the 23rd TB.
You know, them freaking out over his appearance is weird cause the anime readded all of the beastman characters that were gotten rid of in the second half of Z. He didn’t look THAT out of place.
@@MistareFusion I’m probably giving the anime team too much credit here. But going to a tournament there’s an expectation that you’re going to see big tough scary guys, not the same randomly on the street. But in all honesty, I think it’s because like usual with anything dragonball, they prioritized being funny over making sense. I think it’s much more in line that the anime was trying to make fun of piccolo’s appearance than make a call back all the way back to piccolo daimao.
@@MistareFusion lol what makes you think the hellish production schedule of dbz gave them time to give a rats ass about continuity outside of big climaxes?
Geez it feels like forever for me and I was one of the ones he mentioned who jumped on board with the Cell arc part 8. I just happened to catch that title and thought it was funny and thank you finally someone said it at the same time. The rest is history.
I've only been around since the last parts of the Android arc and it still feels like a long time! It really is a fundamental undertaking Lance has accomplished.
To be honest DBD has become an important part of my life over the years and it feels so weird to see it "end" like this. Thank you, Mistare Fusion, for all the things you have taught me in storytelling and i'm happy that it continues into GT. I'm very curious about what you'll have to say and i'm wondering if the subject of characters acting out of character will be brought up. How does one write a character the same way as his/her creator did ?
Ohhh I am certain it will be brought up. Although keep in mind it isn't anything new (by the time of GT) for Toei to have characters acting different or more exaggerated than they really should be.
MIstare: "He still wants to beat the strongest guy, which is Gohan. And after that? Eeeehhhhh? More snacks?" Toei: "By jove, that's brilliant! We'll have Majin Boo look for snacks in the filler!"
I really enjoyed that portion of the story. Even when he was made more like Cell, his childish bombastic side never truly disappeared. Couldn’t imagine Vegeta, Freeza or Cell flying around in celebration on the planet they turned vacant. There was also an eeriness to it. This big loud guy having the time of his life in a completely empty city. A city turned empty because of his genocide.
When I was a kid, being such a GT fanboy, my "explanation" to the bad guys keeping their bodies was that Enma allowed it so he could keep punish them...imagine my surprise when decades later, Resurrection of F confirmed this to be the case!
I know I should’ve said this in your “last episode” of DBD, but I discovered your channel right after I first got into dragon ball in 2015, I was going through a rough time and your videos helped me distract myself with analytical knowledge of the manga. Looking back now as a young adult, your series is very unique, you might be one of the only ppl on any site to validly criticize dragon ball if need be, while at the same time expressing how great it is and how it can be, literally from it’s begins to the end. I can’t wait for your thoughts on gt and my fav DB film path to power.
If you get to Super, it would be interesting to see how you would do DBDTV for that since Super goes back and forth as to whether the anime or the manga comes out first. Also RIP Freeza but can’t say it wasn’t coming.
The version I watched as a kid actually gave Launch a mostly off-camera line. "That guy sounded cool! NyAaAaah!" Which implies she didn't even recognize Goku? Lol
Thank you Mistarefusion! I didn't start with your series when it first began, but am very glad I found your series midway through. Seeing your opinions of the highs and lows of a series that have shaped myself and others. Dragon Ball is far from perfect, but we all have portions of it that we fell in love with it!
I'm looking forward to your take on GT. As the original series, GT is far from perfect, I like it's ideas and smaller moments similar to how I like the Buu saga.
Thank you so much for all the Dragon Ball content so far. Your videos really helped me to see a lot of the events from the manga, tv show and movies in a new light, thanks to your well though analysis. Now to patiently wait for GT, while re-watching your DB videos and other videos from your channel until then. Keep the good work and on your suited healthy pace.
I absolutely *love* the fusion voices just being both characters overlapping. Nozawa and Horikawa mixing to create Gogeta/Vegetto in particular just gives me tingles.
With hindsight being 20/20, I actually like the idea that when the Kai fuse they DON'T have a fused voice, but a singular one. As it lines up with the retcon that the Earrings result in a permanent fusion for Kais only, with others being temporary. A permanent version gets a unified, singular voice, while the temporary fusions get the dual voice.
This was a really fun seeing the journey of you compare the differences from the manga and the anime versions. And I’m looking forward to the new journey for Dragon Ball GT!
Thanks for the run. You gave me a lot to think about how filler should enhance a adaptation, and not simply pad. Tien's encounter with the man he injured during the Piccolo arc for example. Also, while this is definitely nostalgia talking, the episodes where Goku and Vegeta go on their fantastic voyage into Buu's body were the ones that got me into this fantastic world and were among the first I purchased on home video, and they’re still some of the best. Looking forward to GT next time. Until then.
Heck when it came to padding the anime, I still wonder to this day why the 3 year training period for the Androids was the one thing they breezed through. A three year training period was the perfect place for anime exclusive sagas that could be properly paced, and more done in one's that just expand on characters beyond what the manga showed. But no, let's blow through that and poorly pace out some filler insteadXD!
I like how it just so happens that both fusions we see not use overlapping voices are from kais, it's pretty convenient as we can wave away them not having it as a Kai always being dominant, or something similar.
I'm gonna miss DBD TV! As someone who wasn't that well-versed in the differences between manga and anime despite being a fan for almost two decades, it was both educational and entertaining. I'm sure as hell gonna be tuning in for GT, which I believe deserves better than the ill reputation it's gotten. Can't wait!
i'm here to sincerely thank you for all your owrk with DBD and DBD TV, You're the person who does this job better than anyone else and having it all is a pleasure I'm always eager to indulge.
Great work, Lance! Watching your series has really helped me to analyze media in more nuanced and intricate ways. For example, I only recently realized that Trunks and Goten disguising themselves as Mighty Mask (one fighter composed of two people) is a bit of foreshadowing for Gotenks and the fusion concept in general. Toriyama does have his tricks! Looking forward to the future of DBD.
I remember hearing about your series on kanzenshuu way back in the early 2010's, when I was first getting involved in the online dragon ball community. I didn't start watching until 2020 or so, but it's surreal to see this come to a close. Your whole channel feels authentic and also like a dose of nostalgia Hope to see GT and maybe even Super from you :) ❤
"this is the last episode of DBDTV" *looks over at Super* ;p In all seriousness, i know your doing GT, I'm excited for it for sure! I'm excited as hell for DBD December! I'll support the patron ASAP. Thanks for covering DB and DBZ after all these years!
There is a video comparing Vegeta's "tantrum" to Kaioshin and Goku in both the old school Funimation dub and their Kai Redub years later which is more accurate to the original Japanese comparatively. In the Kai dub Vegeta snaps when he's told how his pride is meaningless and just says how he doesn't give a monkeys uncle about anything but proving himself superior to Goku. In the old Funi dub Vegeta tells Kaioshin that he doesn't know what meaningless means because he wasn't under the rule of a dictator that killed his people and his planet and that is why he only values being the strongest of his race. A lot of fans in the comments were drooling over the old rewrite because it makes Vegeta more reasonable in how he is acting whereas in the original he is just whining over nothing. I want to know if you think that change made Vegeta less unreasonable in your eyes.
It has been a journey, but it's been a pleasure as well. And I'll keep coming back for your other stuff as well! (including DBDTVGT) Regarding the voice thing, since apparently the potaras were made *for* the gods to use, I think it stands to reason that the godly being with the highest rank simply takes over completely. Amusingly, DB Super supports this theory, since they revealed only godly beings remain permanently fused.
Fun end. As for the moving...yeah I get it: while there are some issues with anime Saiyan Arc, it's just the best action and the one that just draws your attention...and then by contrast, the "five minutes of doom" is all you need to know about Frieza.
Man, it's been a wild ride. Thanks for your in depth look at the series Fusion! looking forward to GT. I don't think I'll ever view the manga and anime the same way again lol.
Old Kaioshin and Kibitokai not having double voices actually retroactively makes sense with the DBS retcon. That potaras are permanent only when an actual Kaioshin uses them, meaning that a Kai's personality probably becomes the dominant one drowning out the voice of the other person.
I am ... very late on this, but the "Wan-chan" bit is actually just a common term for puppies/doggos in Japan. It's equivalent to calling him "pup" or "pupper," etc., rather than a unique nickname.
Thank you! That is more or less what I figured given what it means. I hope I didn't come across like I thought it was uniquely his term. I just didn't notice it being used in the manga (although I could have missed it), so I wanted to make note of it.
@@ellisp276 Well we never see Krillin's parents so we assume orphan, and Vegeta was definitely orphaned by Frieza, but Videl still has one parent alive by comparison. That makes the topic of Videl's mom more intriguing on never being brought up.
I just recovered all the DBDTV episodes on the Boo arc. And after this one I want to talk about how the Italian dub handled (and handles nowadays) fusion voices. The dub of Dragon Ball Z and GT ignored the "two simultaneous voices" thing and had them with a single voice: both Vegetto and Gogeta speak in Goku's voice, while Gotenks speaks in Trunks's. The dub of the movies restored the double voices for the fusions. Then we add Super into the mix. The first fusion we see in Super is Gotenks, that still speaks with only Trunks's voice. But then Trunks's voice actress died and was replaced, so what happened to Gotenks? He gets Trunks's new voice? Of course not, he gets his own voice actor that is neither Goten nor Trunks's. Meanwhile Vegetto and Gogeta have the double voice.
It's amazing how much care for consistency of Potora Fusions is placed on the series as it goes into Super- what with the retcons to Kaioshin being the only ones permanently fused and also Zamasu not getting a double voice, but god forbid people keep their character development just because Toriyama really wanted to hard respond to the original English Dub in the Frieza Saga.
Also it's super weird how consistant "weekly release anime for weekly release manga keeps making filler even after the series is over" is. It happened with Naruto too where the anime kept going for I want to say THREE YEARS after Naruto finished. People just don't want to give up their cash cow even when it's gonna get a continuation and infinity movies and specials.
Its so sad to see dragon ball dissection finally come to a close... SIKE looking forward to hearing what your takes on DBGT love it or hate it storylines
I just rewatched every single video in this Dragon Ball Dissection playlist from the beginning; and the cool thing is I just finished re-watching the whole Dragon Ball Z anime with my girlfriend (the first time for her ever watching the series) we watched the Orange Box collection with all the filler so when she was asking me “Is this filler or in the Manga?” I got to tell her thanks to your series and information so thank you for the amazing content. I am now going to start you Dragon Ball GT stuff, I grew up seeing a few episodes from the Baby Arc and the end of the Shadow Dragons arc but I don’t know too much so I’m excited. Sorry for the Book lol but keep up the amazing content. Heck and maybe when you finish the GT stuff you can go into the Super Manga then Anime?? Thank you :)
Thank you so much! I appreciate you taking the time to write that. And I'm glad these videos were both entertaining and helpful to you. Hope you and your girlfriend had fun watching the series.
I liked the additional filler in spite of the fact the manga had already ended. The last few chapters of the manga seemed rushed and the anime pads things out for a bit more of a climax One change I did like was Vegeta trying to fight Buu before agreeing to fusion as opposed to the manga version where he just agrees very quickly. The element of initial stubbornness makes it feel more in character. One thing you left out was the part where Vegeta briefly tries to fight Kid Buu before Goku resumes, leading to Vegetas speech about Goku being better than him. Would you say that was an improvement over the manga?
Him fighting Kid Boo was already in the manga...and since the only thing the anime would've done is extend the fight, I'm not sure why you think this person would consider that an improvement or even care. Him trying to fight Super Boo makes even less sense since he the reason they even wanted 1 on 1 Kid Boo is because they thought he was weak enough to take on. It was made clear that he saw the events that led to Boo absorbing Gohan, fighting Super Boo isn't a good addition...it just makes Vegeta stupid again.
@@SonicmaniaVideos Except it is not. Vegeta fights Kid Buu three times in the anime. Thd extra fight is before he gives the speech on Goku being better. That never happened in the manga as it just shows Vegets watching Goku fight in SS3 Vegeta was obviously not planning on fusing when he came back. And he is no stronger now against Buu when he does. Vegeta has never let his opponents strength intimidate him.
I'm really glad that Lunch made an appearance during the Genki-dama sequence in the anime, since she was originally going to appear in the manga in place of 17 and was even there in the draft pages, but Toriyama decided to change her to 17 in the final draft. Makes a lot of sense in retrospect given 17's lines make very little sense coming from him but a lot more coming from Lunch.
@@christophertaylor2462 the genki-dama doesn't take people's ki, it takes their life force. Since 17 and 18 are still partly human they can absolutely give their life force to it.
I always thought it was weird that Kaio argued with Vegeta about taking more energy from the Earthlings. If Kaio didn't want him to do it, he could've just stopped the connection, since he's the telepathic link, but I guess we need even more tension.
I always thought that the fact that 18 was weak to water was just an excuse to not get wet, if it had been the other way around the Android saga would not have lasted that long on a planet composed mainly of water.
I think the implication is yes Buu was Mr. Satan's only real friend. Mr. Satan had fame and adoring fans, but that all only came because everyone thinks Mr. Satan is the strongest guy in the world. Buu was the first person to befriend the man Mr. Satan rather than oogle over those surface level stuff and as such I found Mr. Satan longing for him to be touching stuff.
I'm going to assume that Potara Fusion only has a singular voice if a Kai is involved, with the Kai basically just assimilating the other party like with Piccolo and the Namekians. That's consistent with Zamasu and Black's combination in Super, even if Black is technically also Zamasu. No idea how it works if two proper Kais fuse together, though.
one thing i read about but not 100% sure is the case was the bit when Krillin and Piccolo got turned to stone by Dabura, heard somewhere that only Krillin was meant to be turned to stone but they added it so Piccolo was stoned as well, the amount of times they kept panning to their statues and for a fair period of time felt like padding in a way
Congrats MistareFusion. By any chance, did you already make a comment about Neko Majin Z? I mean it especially for its post Buu chapter where the entire cast appeared alongside Uub giving it a more lighthearted atmosphere rather than the awkward depression from the anime (seriously, Chichi was crying in the final scene from Z)
I think we can all agree we felt more emotion here with Mistarefusion ending DBTV then the tv staff did when ending the anime. I can’t wait for DBGT dissection since GT is just as much a part of Dragonball history as the original story. Nice ranking of the anime arcs. I have such strong love for the Saiyan arc and the part of the Namek arc that ends after Goku knocked Recoome out, thanks to the repeated airing of those episodes back in the 90s.
I'm so happy with your critiques of the Freeza arc because I regretted binging DBZ when I got to namek. Seriously, team four star made that saga look like an exhilarating Elmore Leonard style novel.
It looks like Kino Production was the studio that went out of their way to draw each spike in the Super Saiyan 3 hair and I guess it was Studio Live that drew it as just a mop on the head. Compare the episodes where Gotenks fights Buu to the episode where Gotenks gets absorbed. Which studio draws the weird faces?
Kinda disappointed you didnt bring up Fat Buu helping Mr Satan get Kid Buu off of Vegeta and leading the latter to safty .As it was Fat Buu's second wind and gives a bit more justification in sparing him as Goku said " If it were for these 2 ( Satan and Good Buu ) the Earth would be Gone "
So here's the thing. I probably should've written this comment back when Fusion finished up the original Manga. Hell, I'd have LIKED to have written this comment back when this video was still fresh instead of two weeks old. But the truth is that it's kind of so Big a feeling to convey that it took me a lot of time to really get it down properly. Because, yes, ending the Manga is a profound turning point for this series; as far as "Dragon Ball Dissection" in the main is concerned, it's the end of the original "Dragon Ball". But this? This marks the very last point where Fusion will be covering original "Dragon Ball" material of any kind. And especially considering what a big factor the anime has played in shaping peoples' perception of "Dragon Ball", it felt like this was the more appropriate video to lay my feelings out, all the more so because one of the things "Dragon Ball Dissection" and "DBD TV" have taught me is just *how* profound the anime's impact really was on that level. Which is really the core of my feelings right there, really: "Dissection" has genuinely reshaped how I think about this franchise, its characters, its strengths and weaknesses as a story. Whether it's making me re-evaluate how well the Dramatic Arcs of things like the Cell Saga really work or helping me to better appreciate how important Comedy really is to the core of the franchise, Fusion's analysis, not just precise but HONEST, not just fun but THOUGHTFUL, always resonates with me. Even when I don't necessarily agree, it opens me up to new angles I hadn't considered before, makes me more considerate of new things. He's even totally brought me around on how I pronounce character names! And yes, I do know the series will continue into GT! I'm excited to see it do so; I'll continue to appreciate and support the show every bit as much as I do now, and I am VIGOROUSLY curious to see exactly what shape the series will take once we do start GT proper, to say nothing of where it might go once GT too is finished. It'll be an exciting new era! But THIS era is ending, and it only felt right that I should thus let Fusion know just what this series has meant to me, how much I've truly felt enriched by it. Thanks so much, for what you've done, for what you continue to do. ^_^
I think Mr. Satan’s relationship with Buu is like a guy who had a pet no one could control but he managed to tame him. I think he was grieving that he couldn’t keep him under control at the cost of the population of earth dying.
That too, but all we have to do is look at how he put minimal effort into fighting and claiming credit for Cell's defeat as an answer. Video is the only one he had and even becoming famous, there was no one else eager to become friends with him unconditionally.
Well there goes the adaptation of the original manga run. Looking forward to GT. Uh... You did a great job letting us know about it btw, not sure how folks missed it
I can't lie, Lunch becoming someone's butch trucker aunt is somehow the perfect ending for her, small as it is. But yeah, when trying to rank these arcs like I do, I just sorta hold the "ideal platonic version of this story" in my head, which usually means "the version I like best" (so like, anime for 22nd Budokai, manga for Freeza, etc.) Also I like how much harder the anime Buu stuff tries to slam on the brakes on the idea that the kids are gonna in some way succeed Goku. Don't worry, we'll add in a fight where he gets to go 1 on 1 with the muscular "Super" Buu! We'll change multiple lines where he's like "oh, now Buu's weaker Gohan can beat him" to "now /I/ can beat him"!
I can see how Mister Satan saw Buu as his only "true" friend, because he was the only one who see him differently and still accepted him. I agree that it makes no sense he doesn't even think about Videl though.

I think it’s the best solution, even if it isn’t the same as the original. It makes more sense
god i always wished this was what they went with.
I do wonder if that was more of a cost-cutting solution rather than keeping consistency with the other potara-fused characters, considering they also cast a solo VA for Gotenks; just using a filter for the dual-voice effect.
@@FitzyCify cost-cutting is the reason behind most choices in the entertainment and art world
A genuine thank you for this AMAZING series! Been watching for years, since before Cell. You, Abridged and Xenoverse are what got me into Dragon Ball, and therefore art, so I can't thank you enough!
If only you were covering GT.
Damn straight. I wish he would cover it.
I hope ur joking cause he is
He is?
15:08 I think the filler people fleeing Piccolo is because he looks like a big green monster, not because he was Piccolo Daimao, or even the Piccolo that was in the 23rd TB.
But if that's the case, that his appearance is inherently scary, why was no one remotely concerned by him at either tournament he participated in?
@@kaelmic7476 Nothing makes them think that. They're just pointing out something that's contradictory or inconsistent
I always stay to the end to see that crawl of patrons growing longer and longer. Can’t wait for the Grand Tour to begin!
Can’t believe we’ve come this far. I’ve only been around since the second half of the Frieza arc and it still feels like forever.
Eeeehhhhh? More snacks?"
Toei: "By jove, that's brilliant!
Overlapping Saiyans' voices could now be interpreted as foreshadowing that Potara's fusion between mortals isn't permanent.
I gotta give the Anime props for actually remembering Launch and included her in the Spirit Bomb scene.
I'm just wondering if, assuming he does eventually do Super, if he'll do the anime, manga, or both.
Movies, then TV, then manga after each TV arc, then a movie after each manga arc?
Actually not sure about slotting in that partial Resurrection F manga!
The version I watched as a kid actually gave Launch a mostly off-camera line. "That guy sounded cool! NyAaAaah!"
Which implies she didn't even recognize Goku?
The only justification I have for Vegeta was desperate times calls for desperate measures.
Loved this series, hope you cover GT someday

9:47 laughs in Naruto whose anime ended 3 years after the manga ended and didn't even adapt the last chapter until the sequel series Boruto.
Good luck on the new era, Mr. F. I'll be tuning in for GT and anywhere else DBD goes!
So sad that this is the last Dragon Ball Dissection, I wish you'd do Dragonball GT someday
Can't wait!
I started watching GT for the first time only because of these videos!
Hope I like it

i'm here to sincerely thank you for all your owrk with DBD and DBD TV, You're the person who does this job better than anyone else and having it all is a pleasure I'm always eager to indulge.
So excited for dragonball GT, I'm gonna miss this series so much but I know I'll rewatch it a hundred more times.
(11:16) This scene features one of the best lines from the Funimation dub:
Vegeta: "I will not suffer the same fate as cream filling!"
This was oddly touching. I love this channel and can’t wait for the GT content!
Your whole channel feels authentic and also like a dose of nostalgia
Hope to see GT and maybe even Super from you :) ❤
"this is the last episode of DBDTV" *looks over at Super* ;p
In all seriousness, i know your doing GT, I'm excited for it for sure! I'm excited as hell for DBD December! I'll support the patron ASAP. Thanks for covering DB and DBZ after all these years!
In the case of Super, the anime came first, and the manga is the adaptation. Perhaps we will end up with DBDmanga?
@@TylerCharlesFisher that's not the case anymore with Moro AND gronolah but eh. Maybe
literally aching for DBGT DISSECTION TO BEGIN!!!!! HAVE BEEN watching all the old manga dissection videos and just want to say thank you SIR FUSION
Looking forward to the Dragon Ball Heroes dissection.
(including DBDTVGT)
Regarding the voice thing, since apparently the potaras were made *for* the gods to use, I think it stands to reason that the godly being with the highest rank simply takes over completely.
I am super late to this but. Thank you MistareFusion for all the work you put into this.
This has been an incredible journey we've been on. I'm looking forward to your cover of GT!
I am ... very late on this, but the "Wan-chan" bit is actually just a common term for puppies/doggos in Japan. It's equivalent to calling him "pup" or "pupper," etc., rather than a unique nickname.
Thank you! That is more or less what I figured given what it means. I hope I didn't come across like I thought it was uniquely his term. I just didn't notice it being used in the manga (although I could have missed it), so I wanted to make note of it.
interesting how Hercule never mentions Videl’s mom.
Similar to vegetas mum, lots of parents are missing like kuririn’s and more
@@ellisp276 Well we never see Krillin's parents so we assume orphan, and Vegeta was definitely orphaned by Frieza, but Videl still has one parent alive by comparison. That makes the topic of Videl's mom more intriguing on never being brought up.
@@GMP1isReal I guess kuririn was a monk
Crazy journey man! Great stuff, thanks for producing it for us.
Meanwhile Vegetto and Gogeta have the double voice.
what a great series... I'm always coming back to re-watch some parts, because is just so good...
can't wait for GT next time =D
Will miss Dragon Ball Dissection! Thanks Mistare Fusion!
This has been amazing. So long, Lance! It’s too bad you couldn’t find any other Dragon Ball content worth dissecting. /s
A great episode. Wonderful to see DBDTV through until its end. Looking forward to GT!
The last few chapters of the manga seemed rushed and the anime pads things out for a bit more of a climax
One change I did like was Vegeta trying to fight Buu before agreeing to fusion as opposed to the manga version where he just agrees very quickly.
That never happened in the manga as it just shows Vegets watching Goku fight in SS3
Vegeta was obviously not planning on fusing when he came back. And he is no stronger now against Buu when he does. Vegeta has never let his opponents strength intimidate him.
Remember when you said that DBZD TV has a monopoly on letters that end with an E sound? At least that will get to continue with DBGTD!
Loved the fun little not at all binding off the cuff review scores!
We need a DVD of all these. I would hate to see this all lost in 20 years.
"when i was in prison...." wait what!?!?!? and second question what where you in for?
I'm really glad that Lunch made an appearance during the Genki-dama sequence in the anime, since she was originally going to appear in the manga in place of 17 and was even there in the draft pages, but Toriyama decided to change her to 17 in the final draft. Makes a lot of sense in retrospect given 17's lines make very little sense coming from him but a lot more coming from Lunch.
I mean, can 17 even add anything to the genki-dama? He and 18 don't even _have_ ki.
@@christophertaylor2462 And if they can give energy, can they give an infinite amount of it? Since, you know, infinite power source.
@@StanislaoMoulinsky79 Exactly. Either they're completely ineffective or they simply obviate the need to get anything from anyone else.
@Christopher Taylor No, they shouldn't. That was just a writing mistake.
@@christophertaylor2462 the genki-dama doesn't take people's ki, it takes their life force. Since 17 and 18 are still partly human they can absolutely give their life force to it.
What a ride. Can't wait for the next one
I always thought it was weird that Kaio argued with Vegeta about taking more energy from the Earthlings. If Kaio didn't want him to do it, he could've just stopped the connection, since he's the telepathic link, but I guess we need even more tension.
To quote Lance, Kaio really needs to learn when to cut the mic.
No mention of the glorious Buu Ice Cream cone
Technically all episodes of DBD from now on will be DBDTV
It looks like Kino Production was the studio that went out of their way to draw each spike in the Super Saiyan 3 hair and I guess it was Studio Live that drew it as just a mop on the head. Compare the episodes where Gotenks fights Buu to the episode where Gotenks gets absorbed. Which studio draws the weird faces?
Damn, emotional outro. Very looking forward to you ripping into GT and (especially) Super.
Awesome epilogue to a long series now that you're done with dragon ball forever.
Thank you so much for sharing that with me. It is such an enormity of feeling, and I'm so grateful that so many of you are feeling it with me.
Such a shame Dragon Ball Dissection is over forever and GT is never being done ever 😔 in all seriousness, congrats on this massive accomplishment
Onwards to the Grand Tour
Wonder where the anime original arc of the Garlic Jr saga falls in the anime specific ranking list.
Can't believe it's over, had a good run of it all man. Best of luck for the future.
(Pretends I don't know about GT)
Well there goes the adaptation of the original manga run. Looking forward to GT. Uh... You did a great job letting us know about it btw, not sure how folks missed it
I can't lie, Lunch becoming someone's butch trucker aunt is somehow the perfect ending for her, small as it is.
But yeah, when trying to rank these arcs like I do, I just sorta hold the "ideal platonic version of this story" in my head, which usually means "the version I like best" (so like, anime for 22nd Budokai, manga for Freeza, etc.)
Also I like how much harder the anime Buu stuff tries to slam on the brakes on the idea that the kids are gonna in some way succeed Goku. Don't worry, we'll add in a fight where he gets to go 1 on 1 with the muscular "Super" Buu! We'll change multiple lines where he's like "oh, now Buu's weaker Gohan can beat him" to "now /I/ can beat him"!
I almost shed a tear watching this video and the Buu arc part 29
I'm surprised you're not questioning how Vegeta even knows King Kai. They never once interracted.
I wonder if the anime's handling of this is why TFS implied Mr. Satan doesn't have any actual friends.
"I have a daughter."
"Oh, that poor orphan!"
I can see how Mister Satan saw Buu as his only "true" friend, because he was the only one who see him differently and still accepted him. I agree that it makes no sense he doesn't even think about Videl though.
